I like this company! I was quite impressed. I did a lot of research, and their price was in the middle, but they were very prompt and timely. They provided the most honest and accurate answers to any questions I had. They were surprisingly the only company out of several others that didn’t try to talk me out of a rebate that LA County gives, since a lot of paper work is involved with that. We did have a little problem after the installation, but they came out right way to fix it. They did a really good job.

Everything went perfectly! They were very quick and efficient. We haven’t had any problems with the work!

Our air conditioning went out on one of the hottest days during that summer. We called them for an appointment. They came out that day, gave us an estimate and started the work immediately. They did everything they said they would, the work was performed very professionally, they were very friendly, professional, they cleaned up after themselves and everything has been working great. There were no hidden costs, they stayed within their estimate, even though they found a couple of little things with the ducts that they took care of. I would highly recommend them and I would use them again.

On August 16th, we came home and discovered our 23 year old air conditioner had stopped cooling the house. The fan still blew air, but the air wasn't cold. We called our normal heating and air conditioner repair company (not Rowland) and after performing an inspection, they informed us that the condenser was unrepairable and that we would need to replace some equipment. We were given a few options, including one that would save us money by not pulling permits and skirting some regulations. We were told that if we chose the cheaper option, we would have to pay with cash only. We got a second opinion from a guy who was recommended to us by a friend. He also had a cheaper, cash-only option that sounded sketchy. What they didn't bother to tell us was that by not following regulations and doing the job with proper permits, we ran the risk of voiding our homeowners coverage. We got a third opinion from another company that would do the job by the book, but their price was $11,000. Then we discovered there was a program in California that provided a $1500 rebate for installing new energy efficient appliances. Under that program, the homeowner was also eligible to receive a 2% loan for up to 5 years to pay for the work. There were only two companies in Santa Clarita that were certified to install the equipment under the program. Rowland Air was one of those companies. As soon as we contacted Rowland Air, we knew we had found the right contractor. Larry Rowland took the time to explain everything that would be done and answered every question we had. He explained the pros and cons of different options and made sure we had the information we needed to make the right decisions. In the end, we decided to upgrade to a more energy efficient two-stage system. We were given a written estimate that clearly explained exactly what work would be performed and how much it would cost. There was never any sales pressure, but at the same time Larry knew how uncomfortable our home was and when we did pull the trigger, he adjusted his schedule to get our installation done as quickly as possible. All the work was done in one day. The workers showed up right on time, were very professional, and left our home as clean as it was when they arrived. You can tell by looking at the new equipment that Rowland Air takes pride in their work. Everything looks so neat and professional. With the addition of the new shiny insulated sound boards, our furnace closet looks like the inside of a satellite. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, we're looking forward to receiving our $1500 rebate, and we're so glad we found Rowland Air.

He was out here and he overcharged me on the price of the part he used. They came out and were here for five minutes. When they left, it was running, they did fix the problem. I just felt like I was overcharged. The receipt was illegible and I actually had to rewrite it for them; it was very sloppy and unprofessional.

Our first project with Rowland Air went very well, so we decided to try them again. Fortunately, this project was a great experience as well. Therefore, we gladly recommended them to a friend recently (who has now happily worked with them also). Since we really wanted to complete this new project before Christmas, they went above and beyond, working extra hours to finish their portion. While negotiating the price, they were flexible to accommodate our budget -- including allowing me to do the painting. They did all the difficult stuff. Compared to other contractors, we know we received a fair price, and we will definitely continue using them. While they were working on our second project, they also serviced our HVAC system which is still performing fantastic. We have no problems, and we are confident they will keep it running smoothly in the future with regular maintenance visits (at reasonable rates). Note: I read that review from another customer who was frustrated with the energy upgrade proposal, and I can attest that the process can be time-consuming and a somewhat complex. Initially, we tried to break everything down into separate projects as well; however, we discovered that created problems with the financing component. In the end, it was much easier to begin with a package -- and then eventually itemize all the costs based on HERS requirements later.

Hello, I am writing this report to help others. I won't be able to include all the details as it would take too long. I finally took my issues with Rowland Air to the Contractors State License Board Arbitration Program. This process took close to two years. I did receive an award from the Board and Rowland Air had to pay me money. Rowland Air caused me much grief and frustration that was totally unnecessary. Their work failed to pass the final inspection from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Building and Safety. Additionally, the State License Contractors Board sent out an INDEPENDENT contractor to determine, in his opinion, what I should be awarded. He felt that I should receive close to two thousand dollars. Rowland Air installed a new air compressor and a new furnace. From the time I first turned on the furnace it would not work due to over-heating. After paying close to six thousand dollars, Rowland Air would not fix it without charging me another one to three thousand dollars. UPDATED APRIL 17, 2012: Rowland Air installed an Goodman 5 ton, 13 Seer, 60,000 BTU condensing unit, M#ASX13060, 410a refrigerant, and 5 ton 13 seer evaportor coil and a Goodman Distention furnace M#GMH80905 as per their contract.

While refinancing our home, we qualified for an EEM (Energy-Efficient Mortgage) which allowed us to install a new HVAC system and attic insulation under strict guidelines and timelines. We received bids from 4 different vendors, but we chose Rowland Air because this contractor can perform a variety of services (comprehensive)... they submitted the most detailed plan and explanations (presentation)... their references checked out great (trustworthy)... and they are trained for the demanding "Energy Upgrade California" certificate (licensed). As the work progressed, we could tell right away we made the right choice in hiring Rowland Air. Their staff was very efficient, polite, considerate, and clean. We didn't have to oversee every little aspect (like some contractors I've hired in the past) because they paid close attention to details. The project lasted a few weeks, and the owner was constantly attentive and responsive. Due to bank requirements, the estimate needed to be modified; however, he made the required changes without complaining. In order to qualify for an EEM, we needed to obtain a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score to measure the effectiveness of the improvements, and now we are approximately 97% efficient (which saves considerable money every year)! Rowland Air is a good choice if you are interested in premium service... that is done correctly... and will last a long time. However, if you are looking to cut corners in order to save some money, this is not the company for you. You will pay more for this service, but if you have ever had a bad experience with a contractor, then you will quickly realize that they are worth the extra money. It was a pleasure working with this company, and we have hired them for additional projects since the completion of the original order.

Arrived promptly after receiving a pre-arrival call. Work was done quickly and effeciently. Explained the problem and what was done. They are scheduled to do work on another unit (heating) in the next couple of months. The price was fair.

I was referred to Rowland by a neighbor. I called them up and got a quote and compared it to others. The price seemed fair, so I set up an appointment for them to do the service. They gave me a window of time when they might arrive. I'm not a fan of long time windows (this one was 3 hrs), but i understand the need for them. Anyhow, I was told they would call me when they were on the way. On the day of the service I received a call with 15 minutes left in the window. They told me they would arrive in 15 minutes, which technically would mean they'd meet the time window. Unfortunately they didn't arrive for another 30 minutes (so 15 minutes outside of the window). The service the did was quick. I was happy with the work they did, however, I would have liked for them to give some information of what the full service included. I had to ask to get any information out of them, but unfamiliar with the process I don't think I got the full story. Overall work done was average but the promptness and professionalism was subpar.

My furnace in my house is about 6 years old. Been having issues with the heater for the last year. 2 previous companies that I called told me the furnace needed to be changed which would've cost me a small fortune. Rowland air showed up on time, and the technician even called me before arriving to make sure I was home. When he got here he put shoe covers on to protect the carpets (without prompting from me). He checked everything indoor and outdoor as well as the attic and ducts. He then showed me a part on the furnace that was defective and explained about replacing the part and that was the only problem. He even gave me a year warranty. Spending $390 was well worth the price instead of having the replace the whole thing. Hard to believe 2 other companies wanted me to replace the whole thing. The technician was professional and had exceptional knowledge. I guess you get what you pay for.

The service man was prompt as he came out the same day I called. He was pleasant and professional. The repairs were done well and he answered all my questions. The problem is that the price charged was not a fair price. The problem was easy to diagnose, as I suggested what it probably was when he first arrived. I discovered later that the ignition unit replaced retails for $100-$125. It was simple to install. I could have done it myself. It took no more than 15 minutes. There was no reason to charge $300 for labor. Rowland air holds themself out on Angie's List to be fair and customer oriented. They were not fair with me. They took advantage of my trust and overchaged me. It simply is not right.

It turned out great. We did a whole house renovation and they did the AC unit. I am thrilled. I have a newer digital display. They service every six months. John has serviced twice, replacing filters. They are very efficient. I have no problems with their workmanship or the unit after it was installed.

They were wonderful, pleasant knowledgeable and nice. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend them and I have recommended them to others.

It were no problems. They were all very nice. They were very quick, quicker than we expected.

They have done a nice job. We use them pretty exclusively. They are prompt and courteous. They appear to be knowledgeable.

It was good. It was expensive but they did a good job. They explained everything they were doing and why it needed to be done. They committed to the price and there were no hidden fees which I thought was good. The workers were competent and they were efficient at what they were doing.

THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY IS THAT IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET THE PART ORDERED. I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE FASTER. ONCE THEY KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT AND HAD THE PART, THEY FIXED IT.

OTHER COMPANY REQUIRED FIVE DAYS BEFORE SERVICING IN THE HIGHEST HEAT OF THE SUMMER. THIS COMPANY CAME THE NEXT DAY WITH ONLY A TWO HOUR WINDOW. SERVICEMEN WERE COURTEOUS AND TIMELY.
