I had the most awful experience with Steve the owner and Westside Tile and Stone. I saw a tile for my bathroom in their showroom and I liked it a lot. I got a labeled sample from them and used it to pick out my wall tile and granite. I ordered the floor tile, using the numbers on the side of my sample. I picked up the tile from the store, checked the number on the box, and had it installed in my bathroom. When I saw it, I realized that it was not the correct tile. The color is a slight variation, but enough to make a strong difference in my bathroom. It was not something that I would have noticed while the tile sat in the boxes. It was not until it was installed and I saw the terrible contrast between the floor and my tiles on the wall.. Steve came out to my house with the vendor, who had a tile that was a different color from the one on my floor, but actually the one that matched my sample. Steve would not take any blame for my sample being mislabeled and kept repeating that it was all my fault, not his, for not seeing that I had bought the wrong tile. Ripping up the floor and some of the wall tile, buying new wall tile, since I will not have enough, and paying to have the entire floor redone will cost me a lot of money. It was their mistake and they will not accept any responsibility. Terrible people to work with. He took the piece of tile, that they had given me as a sample, and refused to give it back. He left with it, the evidence!

Westside Tile was not my first stop for this project, but it WAS my LAST stop! I live about 30 minutes out of the area and used local tile suppliers for my other projects on this whole house remodel. I wanted something spectacular for my living room fireplace and my kitchen backsplash....something that my local tile store just didn't carry. I had heard about West Side from a friend of mine and decided to come in and check it out. Kristy immediately understood the look I was after and not only helped with our selection, but did so in a tactful way that guided us through the immense selection of porcelain, stone and glass. I was in several times as we tweaked our project, and each and every time was greeted with a smile and with graciousness and respect. We had to return a portion of one order because the color lot we received did not match the sample in the showroom. Kristy was able to come up with an alternate plan that we like even better....and find product that was immediately available. Our projects are now coming to fruition, and we couldn't be happier with the result. The fireplace is the focal point of our living room, and it is exactly the look I was going for. The kitchen backsplash certainly is making a splash! it has such character, and a uniqueness that reflects my personal style. If you are looking for quality products and a true custom experience, look no further.

The bottom line is I will not do business with this company.

The conversation went something like this: store: Hi this is Steve. me: Hi, I'm looking for so and so tile. Steve: It's called so and so (correcting my pronunciation, no big deal) me: Excuse me. yes, that's the one. Steve: Where did you see it? Me: Some store in North Hollywood. Steve: Which one? Me: So and so. Steve: How much did they quote you? Me: How about you just tell me what you're selling it for? Steve: Well, I'm either gonna tell you I can beat it or tell you to buy it there. Me: How about you telling me the price and I can make that decision for myself. Steve: Give me your number. Gave him the number. I will give him props for getting back to me within about 5 min. but this is how the conversation continued. Steve: Hi, so how many sqft are you looking for? me:not much, only about 45 sqft. Steve: You're shopping around for 45 sqft?!?....hahaha. uh, we got it for... I couldn't care less about his price at this point, but I stayed on just long enough to hear his price and then hung up on him. Steve, thanks very much for letting me know that a customer looking for 45 sqft of tiles is a waste of your time. And I will take your implied advice and get it from the other store even if they do cost a little more than you. Oh and by the way, I was also looking for some other stuff including bran new granite kitchen countertop as I am going through a bathroom and kitchen remodel, but I wouldn't want to waste anymore of your time. I'm not telling anyone to go or not to go to Westside Tile and Stone. I'm just giving you a verbal account of my experience and my opinion. You can decide for yourself.

We purchased a special order tile that was largely displayed in the store. We were told 2 weeks for the standard size (the bulk of our order) and 6 weeks for the decorative tiles we wanted to blend in. After two weeks I called to see if the standard tiles were in and were told they were having the company hold them until the decorative tiles arrived. This was fine, as we weren't slated to tile until 7 weeks after ordering. Five weeks in, I called back and was told oops, they're distributor couldn't get the special decorative tiles and it would be another month at least. We elected to go with the other tile only which then had to have a rush put on it. Disappointing that they did not follow up on their end and that we had to call to find out about the problem.

THE WORKING PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPANY WESTSIDE TILE AND STONE, WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. THE GRANITE ISLAND IN THE KITCHEN TURNED OUT FANTASTICALLY. I REALLY LIKE IT.

THE WEST SIDE CREW CAME OUT TO INSTALL NEW MARBLE COUNTER TOPS FOR MY KITCHEN. THE GUYS CAME OUT ON SATURDAY SO IT WAS CONVENIENT FOR ME TO BE HOME. THEY DID A GREAT JOB, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.
