Their very reliable, very pleased with them, i have been with them for a long time, I am open for better service, but we are satisfied with their service, we have no complaints.

Called Tuesday around 4pm. They were able to set an appointment for me after 3 on Wednesday to make it easy to meet him after work. I needed a new something igniter to start the burners. They we able to get the part under warranty even though it was installed about 8 years ago by another company I can’t remember. Everything is up and working again.

I am very happy with them. I have used them for years. We have a high end filter so we pay for that additionally each time. It is a company that I trust, they follow through, the people that comeknow what they are doing and I feel properly taken care of. I know the price is not on the low end but not ridiculous. No complaints.

After FIVE appointments with them (only three of which saw someone actually show up) my unit was still not fixed, nor were they able to diagnose the problem. Techs came who had been given incorrect information by their office about my issue and did not have time to work on it because they seemingly had a more important job to go to, or they came without the correct equipment or supplies. Twice, after taking time off work and waiting all afternoon, I was called and asked to reschedule my appointment. For the fifth appointment, I called in the morning to confirm my afternoon appointment, but no one ever showed up or called me to say they weren't coming. That evening, I called and left a message saying that I was very unhappy and frustrated and asked for the owner or someone in charge to call me back. That was three days ago and no one has bothered to contact me. I was happy with the service they provided when they installed my new unit, which cost thousands of dollars, but I am very, very disappointed in the horrible customer service when I'm not paying them scads of money. After hours taken off work and waiting for them to arrive, I finally called another company who arrived on time and fixed the problem in 30 minutes.

Horrible company. Do yourself a favor and don't do any business with this company. I am saving you. Don't fall for their low prices. It will cost you in the long run. I wish I could have turn back time and never purchase an A/C and furnace unit from them. I have had the unit for 2 years now and it stopped working twice since. And this is a brand new unit! For someone from this company to come and see what's up with the unit they charge a fee. I paid $145 for a technician to come a fix what they did wrong the first time. Now my unit does not work again and they want me to pay again. Save your money and frustration and avoid at all cost!!! It seems they also keep changing the company's name from NRG to Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning because they keep accumulating bad reviews every where.

The work is competent and professional. It usually takes 3/4 an hour. Usually one worker comes. Last time they had an apprentice to learn.

It was prompt, efficient, well done and was not more expensive then the estimate. The price was exactly on estimate and the estimate was not outrageous at all. The guy out here explained everything he was doing in a matter that I could understand.

The owner, Mike visited our home, ordered testing down on the venting system. This test enabled us to use the current ducting system. Mike recommended replacing the cellulose with R30 (today's standard). He also help by adding a plywood catwalk in the attic. Installation was completed satisfactorily. We would highly recommend Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. They were very professional, courteous and maintained a high standard of work ethics.

After noticing leaks in the pipes, we called and received an appointment for 2 days later. Our job was Israel's last of a hot afternoon. He saw right away where the leak was. Then he climbed into the attic and found that there was a hole in copper tubing that was spewing water. Instead of telling me he had to reschedule the repairs, he went to his warehouse, got the items he needed, and made the repairs. He did this for us because it was just before the July 4th weekend. Israel stayed until after 6:30 p.m. to complete all the work. I so much appreciate his work ethic and professionalism. We have usually received good service from Mediterranean but this was absolutely superb service. Israel dis spill a little glue on our carpet but was very apologetic and said he'd let the company know.

We had a Freon refridgerant leak and the air conditioning unit stopped completely and we were unable to turn it on. They came out and did not diagnose the problem the first time and sent someone completely new to diagnose the problem the second time. They told us we had a leak problem and it took them 5 days to get back to us the third time. We were left in the heat for a week. In the meantime, he did not go under our home to even check our unit. It was not productive since they sent a new person and they charged me for services each time they came out to perform work. It took them three separate visits to our home to completely finish the job which was extremely inconvenient, not to mention dangerous with the heat here. When they finished the repair, they didn't even check to see if it was still leaking. We asked if they would mind checking under our home, where the unit is located, and they said they would charge me for him to go under and check to make sure if it was completely repaired.

Well, the routine maintenance was routine until the service technician, Nshan, mentioned the flame sensors were getting weak. I asked how much will they cost? Nshan told me $275 each. After he left, I found the same part for my Lennox units online at Repair Clilnic for $16.75. The part number was 52W29 for the Lennox G60UHV-60C-090X-02-02. So I called Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning to find out why. The guy who answers the phone said a guy named Randy would call me back with an answer. A week later, I called again. I was told Randy has been busy, but he would call. After waiting more than a month for the call back, I called and asked to talk to the owner, figuring he might want to know how his employees are treating their customers. Mike Gardener, the owner, picked up my voice mail and called back. He was courteous, apologized for no one calling me back. Then he said Internet prices typically run about half what they have to charge for the part. (To me, that doesn't explain the big difference in this case, $275 vs. $16.75!) I suggested he get back to me after he looks into what happened. That was three weeks ago. After the phone conversation with Gardener, I did some more online research. I checked out Yelp and looked at the customer horror stories using Mediterranean. A couple of them were exactly like mine, a huge markup on the part price, with no explanation when it was questioned. One guy tried to stop the installation of the part after he checked the online price, and the service technician refused to do stop. Then I checked Angie's list, and lo and behold, more horror stories. Then I also looked around Angie's list and spotted the sterling record of Kahn's Air Conditioning here in the San Fernando Valley. In six months, when it's time for more routine maintenance, I'm calling Kahn's. Keep in mind, this is not an easy thing for me to do. Mediterranean had a sterling reputation itself when it installed my heating/air condx units thirty years ago. Then they were replaced by this same firm in 2004 including replacing the old duct system. Up to now, service has been great. But something happened in the last few years. I don't know what it is, but I do know there are a number of other former customers who would agree with me.

Outstanding people. They're always on time, call us within an hour or two when they'll be here. We get our air conditioning and heating system maintained by them twice a year. They have excellent technicians.

Vito was very friendly and confirmed what our previous service man had told us. The units didn't work with each other and never had. It is like trying to make a Mac computer talk with a PC. Air King should have never installed the unit in the first place. But as Mediterranean now was the owner they were the ones to deal with. Vito also told us that Heating and Air Conditioning was wondering "how did they get our phone number????" meaning how did we get hold of them and not Air King? Answer is simple, I called the number I found online for Air King and was connected with Heating and Air Conditioning. We paid the $69.00 service fee and were told that "Randy" would call us on Monday. He was supposedly the owner and i know today that he is. Monday came and no call. Tuesday came and no call. We called them though only to get a response that they Randy was out in the field and he would call "later". Wednesday came an by noon I had called them at least 4 times without luck and not until I said that I would have to take this to the small claims did I get a call from Randy. He declined any responsibility. He was short and arrogant and told me to go after Air King and good luck with that because they are no longer in business. He said that the problem was not the AC but the furnace and even I know that is not true and I know nothing about this stuff. The furnace was here first, then the AC was installed. He then said "Well it worked fine the first years, didn't it!" and I said "Yes, it worked fine until it didn't". These machines are supposed to last at least 15- 20 years if installed correctly!! He said he would come and change the coil in our furnace for almost $3000 but not fix the AC and I declined. I said I would take this up with the small claims and let them decide who is right and who is wrong. All I know is that our 5 year old AC is broken and I have a 10 year warranty that is worth nothing (as it seems). Mediterranean Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. bought Air King in June 2011 but will not take responsibility of any bad work done. They will not honor warranty or contracts. Their advice pretty much is to suck it up. I will finish my small claim filing after I have hit the send button for this review.

I have an annual preventive maintenance contract with Mediterranean Heating and A/C which covers 2 visits a year. Jose was great. He arrived on time and checked the air conditioner and replaced the filter. I have 2 classes on Saturday one in the morning and one in the afternoon and they were able to schedule the appointment on a Saturday so I did not have to miss a class.

Mediterranean overcharged my Mom before she passed away by requiring a maintenance contract on a residence. Overcharged on replacement air filters $55 for a $39 filter. Overcharged me for parts and labor a week after my mom died by installing a part I had already said "no" to and then told me that they "couldn't reach the boss" when I asked for it to be removed. After sending them a certified letter to terminate their services, I still received a post card to "renew". The receptionist, however, agreed to delete my address from future contact.

Service call went well, no problems noted.

Terrible. If you use them, make sure that they check everything that they are supposed to check to prevent future problems. Also, get a second opinion if they tell you that you need to purchase even a small part. They are trained to sell, not provide service.

They have been excellent. They are courteous, prompt, efficient, clean, and friendly.

After confirming an appointment and taking my credit card number -- I repeat -- taking my credit card number -- they called the night before the appointment to cancel. They said they did not work on floor heaters, although they had been to my house previously and even though I had spoken with them earlier in the week. When I expressed my extreme dismay an angry man called back and screamed -- literally screamed at me "WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND PARTS FOR THAT HUH?" The heater has worked fine it was nothing more than a maintenance check. It was a truly awful experience. Stay away from them.

I thought that they were very professional but they seemed to have quite a few issues. It took three months to get it done and the project itself didn’t work right. I would not use them again in the future.

We use Mediterranean for our Winter/Summer scheduled service and for needed repairs. They have always been timely, professional, and honest. I would recommend them to my friends and family without hesitation.

I actually called a different company (Air King) with whom I have a yearly maintenance contract. I was noticing low air pressure from the ducts and it was taking a long time to heat the house. I only had Sat. avail so they sent out a truck and a technician from Mediterranean, without informing me. The serviceman (Steve) checked the filter and determined it was dirty. I had an extra filter so we put that in, and everything seemed to function just fine. Here's where it gets into a 'scam' scenario. He then went on the roof to check the unit. He came down soon after with a small part in his hand saying it was 'blown', and needed to be replaced. At this point he was talking quickly, using "A/C jargon" saying this could cause the unit to fail completely. I asked him how much for the replacement, and he said $278.00. I immediately felt like this was a scam. However, he had said the unit may fail so I said "ok, to begin the repair". I then immediately looked up the part on my computer and discovered that is sells for about $14.00. I went up to the roof and asked why the repair was $278 since the part was $14.00. He became annoyed and defensive. I asked what his hourly rate was and he again did not give a clear answer but instead began asking me what I do for a living, and that it costs him $100 just to drive his van here, etc. etc. I asked him to stop installing the item. He refused. I called my company (Air King) and explained that there appeared to be a scam going on at my house. He spoke to the woman from Air King to no avail, then I said I would not pay for this repair until I spoke to the owner of Air King. I received a missed call from them hours later but never spoke the them. He wanted me to pay for the repair, and I stood my ground and said no, not until I speak to the owner of Air King with whom I have my maintenance contract. He grumbled, and just left, saying I'd never work with Mediterranean again (like I'd want to!!). My assessment of this scam is this: he comes out on a Saturday with the hope of either a filter sale or other repair. Nothing is wrong, so he pulls some part out and creates a revenue source for himself. He tries to make this repair as quickly as possible and "get the sale" before the client can research the problem. Terrible.

They are very good. They were in and out and did a great job. Everything works great.

I had used them on and off over the years. There were some unnecessary expenses when they came out the last time. They tried to push me into buying a new system. The price they gave was actually not the price that they had quoted. I had ordered the system from them, but I canceled it with a 3 day notice. Their work was good, but it was overpriced. They charged me $700 for finding the leak in April and it took them 15 minutes to find it. They told me that there was a leak in the evaporator coil and they couldn?t put any more Freon in it, which they did in the end. They changed 2 more parts and charged $300 a piece. It took 10 minutes for them to replace it. There was another part that probably cost $20 and it took them five minutes. They also charged about $400 for some other parts. I then rejoined their maintenance program which was $290 for each system; one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. I spent a total of $2000 in April. Every time they come out, they always try to push something new for the system. The system has been working fine for 10 to 15 years. I dislike their price since they are way too expensive and everything is on a flat rate basis like a car dealership. So they don?t bill you by the hour. They were kind of unprofessional and I felt like it was being hustled. My overall experience with them wasn?t good and I wouldn?t use them again.

Seems that whatever the problem is, their solution is a new air conditioner. And their quoted price for adding freon is not competitive. I later tried calling for a manager or supervisor, and the person who took the call said they were on vacation. I found another company that charges only $35/ lb for freon. Needless to say the other company came out, added freon, and that fixed my problem.
