Geek Squad - Best Buy

Sometimes they can do the work and sometimes it does not work. Scheduling goes well and I do not have any problems. Their customer service is fairly good and it really depends on which technician you get. I think they still need to figure out who they are.

They were actually very nice. I was having problems with the inbuilt mouse pad, and they advised me to use an external mouse, as repairing the inbuilt mouse pad would cost a lot more than buying an external mouse. I did that, and I am perfectly fine with it. They really didn’t do any work, they just gave me good advice to save me money.

They were an absolutely nightmare. It was so bad that I wanted to throw my computer and these guys out the window. The one thing that was so upsetting was I received a lot of conflicting information. I went because they were connected to Best Buy. First I called the Geek Squad on the phone and I told him my problem. For some foolish reason I talk them out of talking to some locally and I was talking to dispatcher who was not even located anywhere near this area. He gave me an appointment and told me when the guy would be out here. When he came out, he said that needs to take the computer to Best Buy to work on it overnight, so I agreed. The next day when I went to pick it up, I was told by someone else that it would take 7 days. When I told him what the previous guy told, he said that guy did not know what he was talking about. When my computer was finally finished, I went back to get it and one of the guys helped me take it out to the car. On the way out to the car he asked me if I knew to install it when I got back home. I said no and I have to hire someone from their squad to come back to reinstall for me and he said that he can do it cheaper than they can. He also said that they were just a big rip off and they cheat people everyday. He also said that best buy is the worst store to buy anything from and he referred me to circuit city. When I asked him why he was telling me all this as he was working for them, and he said that I am like a grandmother. He also said that I should not trust what they did and they might not have even worked on my computer, and I as very upset about. When I went back to speak to the manager, he was on vacation and there was not 1 person in that store that night that would talk to me.

As I sat at home waiting for my first scheduled appointment (4 hour window), I got a call requesting that they reschedule because they didn't set up the right technician for the job. We set up an appointment for the next day. The next day I waited again (once again the four hour window), and no one called, no one showed up. I lost my whole weekend to the geek squad for nothing. Now this week they've been calling me all week to reschedule. Really?!!???!!

They were fabulous. Polite, professional, and got the job done. I'd definitely recommend them. And they come to the house!

CPU booted up at 8088 speed, or less, they ran a check and said it was defective ram. Had CPU for five days. Three days later was back with same problem. This time they had it three days saying there was spy ware/viruses/worms and OS was corrupt. Picked up CPU and left. Maybe this was a one time thing however I have a feeling it wasn't and isolated experience.

I WOULD SAY THAT OVERALL I FELT LIKE MAYBE HE DIDN'T QUITE KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE USED A LOT OF WORDS LIKE I THINK AND IT COULD BE THAT AND MAYBE THIS. IT SOUNDED MORE LIKE A GUESSING PROCESS. IT IS STILL DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY. WHEN I CALLED HIM BACK HE SAID IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING. HE WASN'T REAL SURE OF WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS.

IT WAS FINE CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER. THEY TOOK CARE OF IT VERY QUICKLY WITH NO PROBLEMS.

THEY WERE GOOD. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THEY WERE FAST. THEY WERE PERSONABLE. THEY TOOK A LITTLE LONGER TO GET IT DONE. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE DONE A CERTAIN TIME, BUT IT WAS DONE THE NEXT DAY.

GOOD OVERALL SERVICE. THEY HAD THE PRODUCTS THAT I NEEDED. THEY ALSO ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. THEY WERE ALSO VERY HELPFUL.
