They put in one large window which actually has two windows in it. They were absolutely great. They came when they said they would come. They actually needed to do some work apart from doing just the windows - they had to put some frames and do some woodwork. Their woodwork reflected good craftsmanship. They did a great job, and the windows look just great. Everything that they did was perfect and everything went exactly as expected. Nobody asked for more money than was promised at the beginning. I compared their price to other providers and it was fine. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

Overall, we were extremely frustrated during the course of the job mainly due to lack of communication by the installation manager and length of time it took to install the windows. A four-week waiting period turned into an eight-week waiting period. The sales experience was fine; that is, the salesman came out on time and measured the windows as expected. Then the installation manager came out to re-measure the windows. It turned out that he did not do a good job, as there were numerous problems when the installer came out. We also waited weeks for a missing part that they told us would be here "any day." The installation manager did not keep us informed about the delay and it was up to us to continuously call them for an update. We complained to the owner and she took over the communications and tried to push the project along to the best of her ability. The delay caused us to postpone other contractors, prolonging our overall construction job. Once the windows were installed, the fitting was not good and an incorrect part was included in the manufacturing of the window. They sent out the original installer, who could not fix the problem. Then the manufacturer of the window came out and fixed the problem. Also, we were not given the warranty until one week after the installation and there are various exceptions in the warranty that should have been brought to our attention before installation, e.g. dark paint voids the warranty.

Bob Feldman was the sales person and he came over and inspected all the windows; explained thoroughly what was needed; had us come by the showroom to see examples of what window styles we could have; explained in detail all the options and gave us an estimate for the work to be done. My husband and I were so impressed with Bob, that we decided immediately to give Exodus our business. First, Bob came with Rick, who measured and gave us choices as to which side the windows would slide and a few other options. Everything was explained to us which we really appreciated. Bob placed the order and a couple weeks later, the installers showed up promptly in the morning. The installers, Jeff and Pete, were fast and professional. In fact, we had thought it might take at least an entire day, if not days, but Jeff assured us it would be just until the afternoon. It was true. Our new windows are so beautiful and were installed perfectly. Jeff also assured us that we "wouldn't even know they were there" because they would totally clean up afterwards. He was right! Finish of story: we love our new windows and are very happy we found Exodus through Angie's List. PS. We hope to have our back patio doors replaced sometime next year, definitely by Exodus.

Our experience with Exodus was outstanding and I highly recommend them to others! Background: We contracted with and paid another, unnamed contractor to purchase and install the above mentioned custom windows. When the windows were delivered about two months later, the contractor refused to install them and, instead, sent us a letter advising us he was filing for for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and that the money he owed us would be included in the court restructuring. (In brief, a California State License Board complaint is in process, although we will likely never recover our monies that he misused for personal purposes.) We were shell-shocked, outraged, and feeling totally vulnerable about the prospect of dealing with another contractor, but the windows had to be installed so we subscribed to Angie's List to use as a resource for finding highly-rated window companies in our area. It came as no surprise that the first couple of A-rated companies we contacted advised us that they would not install windows that had been measured and ordered by another company.....and then my husband called Exodus and spoke with Scott Larcomb, the president of the company. Scott also explained that his company only installed windows ordered by his company, but after hearing our predicament, said he would come to our house to inspect the windows to determine if he would be comfortable taking on the project. He came out, did the inspection, and agreed to install them because our paperwork showed that Pella had verified the original contractor's measurements were correct. He explained, however, that the installation or our windows was problematic because the depth of the new window replacements were greater than the depth of our old windows. He then explained a work-around solution that would resolve the problem and assured us he and his installers would do everything possible to give us an esthetic outcome that we would be happy with. Our experience with Exodus: Scott totally delivered on his promise! He and two of his installers, Marshall and Juan, came back a few days later to undertake the installation. He briefed them on the tweeks that would be required to provide the best esthetics on the depth of the windows inside and out, then left them to begin the installation process. He returned the next day to make certain the work was going as planned. The installation took two days. Let me say at this point that, because of my experience with our original contractor, I was anxious and fearful about the installation outcome the entire time the guys from Exodus were here and it was obvious to Marshall and Juan. I repeatedly offered my apologies and explained that it was not related to the work that they were doing. To their credit, they didn't take it personally. And, again, to their credit, they consulted with my husband and myself on certain aspects of the installation, explaining that they wanted to make sure that we concurred with their installation approach. We were so impressed with Scott's, Marshall's, and Juan's work, professionalism, and customer oriented approach, that we added an additional $500 to our payment as a thank you for their efforts and kindness. As perfectionists, the only negative comment that we can offer--and it's a very small one--- is that we noticed the next day that the caulking on a few of the windows was a bit messy in places. It's really such a small thing that we didn't even bother to contact Scott about but, we know that if we had, he would have sent someone out immediately to redo the caulking in those areas. Bottom line: If you need new windows or replacement windows, do yourself a favor and get a proposal from Exodus Doors and Windows. You'll be in great hands and you'll be glad you did. They're truly outstanding!

In looking at the windows, he told us that our windows were in good shape and we did not need to be replacing them at this point. He never tried to pressure us in any way, just brought the estimate, but he told us nothing needed to be done. He was very honest and upfront that the advantages of replacing the windows would not be that great. It was wondeful! He even called the company that supplied the windows to see what it would cost to do a custom window. He was on time and very professional. He showed us all the information on his insurance and workmans comp without us having to ask to see it.

Bob Feldman was our salesman who arrived promptly to our home. He was the last of the vendors we interviewed and found him to be the most complete and honest in his approach. I was very concerned with their 1099 subcontractors and they assured me a lien waver will be signed, which they did. The workers arrived on time and everyone was pleasant and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. There was a miscommunication on the placement to 2 windows and their subcontractors came the next day to remedy the problem. We hare very happy with the windows and have no problems recommending them. Upon request, they provided us with the window specs for the gas company rebate and suggested applying for the federal credit as well.

They were prompt, cleaned up, and did an overall excellent job.

Generally it went OK. The windows and doors took longer to arrive then expected. For one slider we were enlarging the opening-Exodus did not confirm that the framing would work and reworking it cost an additional $1200. Several windows showed up scratched, broken, or the wrong size which they claimed was Millguards fault but it then took a month to get the correct ones. The details of how the windows would be trimmed out was not told to me ahead of time and they installed strange molding without asking me. The other window trims then kept constantly peeling off and had to be siliconed. The silicon looked very messy and had to be redone several times. Despite the issues, Exodus kept coming back and finished the job and the installers were friendly and worked quickly. One last issue we just realized was stucco person they subbed out work to did not do a very good job-when we re-painted the house there was one wall that looks very poor.

We were very pleased with the level of professionalism with everyone on the Exodus staff. Before selecting Exodus, they even arranged for me to visit a similar windows installation so I could better envision exactly how the replacement doors and windows would look in our home. Above and beyond the call.

They were very professional, and they did very good work. The installers (Jose and Juan) are experienced workmen, and they did a great job on a complex installation. They beat the competition in pricing and got the materials faster than others promised. Bob and Scott were also very responsive to questions. I highly recommend this firm.

In the beginning we were treated extremely well-the company had done work for us before and except for one small problem we were very satisfied. We met with Scott, the owner, and he showed us examples of doors/window treatment/options and talked us through our choices. He came out to see what work needed to be done and measured all the openings himself with the help of Rick, the installation manager. That was the end of Scott. The work was scheduled for a date we weren't able to keep since we'd be out of town so that pushed back installation several weeks, three to be exact. When the day for installation finally arrived a crew (3 men) put in the four movable windows and then sat around waiting for the truck to deliver the French doors. They finally left at 2:00 since the truck never arrived. Everyone returned the next day and the large fixed window was installed as well as one set of doors. The crew did something wrong and couldn't complete that installation so said they'd have to return. Another crew (2 men) returned the next day and installed the remaining doors but couldn't fix the door that had been incorrectly installed. When they finished that afternoon I was asked for the remaining $5500 that was outstanding. I refused saying that the one French door still wasn't operating correctly and a quarter round base trim hadn't been installed. My husband was very upset with this and called Scott to complain. He was connected with Rick and expressed his disappointment with the way the job had progressed. Rick came out to look at the job 13 days later and said he'd have someone from the door company come out to check the door. He also said the quarter round would be installed at the same time. Three weeks (!) later we finally saw the job completed but never again saw Rick or heard from Scott.

So far, so good! They have been very punctual and professional. They do all of the work, including all of the painting and surrounding around the door and windows. Hopefully it continues to go this well. Compared to the other prices we got elsewhere, their prices seemed fair. They said they will perform a full cleanup and haul everything away when they are finished. They have come out to measure several times, and are always here early. The salesman, Bob, was really thorough, informative, and very helpful.

Overall, I had a very good experience with this company. I think they did a great job, and I would hire them again.

I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND THE WORKERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

They refused to come out because I only had one door to fix. They would not help me. They will only come out to Thousand Oaks if you have four or more interior doors to be worked on.

It was a very good experience. The salesman came out and gave an estimate, explained why and where tempered glass would be necessary, did not pressure us to upgrade beyond what we wanted. Then someone came out to take precise measurements. When the order was ready in 2-3 weeks, the installers came and did the job in two days, took away the old windows and cleaned everything up beautifully.

They quoted a price on the phone, which was less than all other quotes. I knew the door I wanted. From my first phone call to final installation, everything went very smoothly. The door was installed perfectly. They arrived on time and cleaned up after the installation was completed. I was very happy with everything.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. THEY WERE CLEAN. THEY WERE AVAILABLE AND RETURNED OUR CALLS WITHIN NO TIME AT ALL.

THE SALESMAN WAS TIMELY IN HIS PRESENTATION. THE WINDOWS WERE ORDERED AND ARRIVED WITHIN 3WEEKS TO BE INSTALLED. INSTALLATION WAS DONE IN ONE DAY. THE WORKERS CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND WHEN THEY WERE DONE THE HOUSE WAS PERFECT. THIS WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. THE COMPANY WAS PROFESSIONAL.

EXODUS DOOR AND WINDOW HAS DONE A NUMBER OF JOBS FOR ME. I AM SATISFIED NOT ONLY WITH THE INSTALLATION THEY DID, BUT THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCTS THEY USED. SERVICE ISSUES HAVE BEEN HANDLED PUNCTUALLY BY MILGARD.

HANDLED QUICKLY AND INSTALLATION WAS DONE WELL.
