CANOGA PARK LANDSCAPING

We called Canoga Park Landscaping because I saw one good report about it on Angie's List and because the person we called first hadn't yet responded and we thought the problem should be fixed asap. Tom Verde said he would be over within an hour. He appeared. He looked at situation (my husband had replaced a broken pipe but had been unable to reassemble the system successfully), and estimated it at $125, saying it would be more if unforeseen problems arose. We had no idea how long it would take and assumed (wrongly ) that because of the angie's list recommendation this was a fair estimate. Tom started work; then asked my husband whether he would go buy two small pipes for him to use. My husband was home and obliged. Tom finished the work in 35 minutes. We asked to see the low water pressure and how two of the sprinkler systems didn't go off properly (he mentioned as he said he was going to write up the bill.) We asked to see the systems which apparently not working and saw that they were working; Tom explained that we are in an area of low water pressure. Tom said the bill was going to be $10. extra because he had had to tighten a few pipes in the reassembly of them (the pipes he charged $10. to tighten were off the system when he arrived, so it was obvious he would have to tighten them in some way to get them back to normal!). Thinking that $135 was a lot for less that an hour (total time with reviewing sprinkler and check writing turned out to be an hour) of work, I asked it he would reduce the price. He was curt and said "no". Then I asked if he would take less for cash. "No!" again. Ipaid the $135., and felt ripped off.

Tom returned my phone call promptly. He was able to come out the very next day to complete the work. Tom and his grandson Fernando work together. They were very professional, prompt, and efficient.
