They were very good. They were prompt, responsive, and did the job cost effectively.

When we bought this house three years ago, we knew a new roof was needed. This year we decided to get it done. After checking on Angie's list, we decided to get an estimate from Shadowfax and another roofer. Shadowfax gave us a thorough and reasonable quote, while the other roofer seemed too busy to care about our business. John took the time to answer our questions and discuss issues we brought up. We were interested in an energy saving roof, and he explained what they offered as well as the available tax credit. We scheduled a day to begin the work. Because of unusual weather this year, there were still rainy days in April. This delayed the start by a few days. Finally, the workers got started. It was the fastest roof job I have seen or heard of. Most of the work was done in two days, and it was done very professionally and with good quality. Generally the workers came early, or at least on time. There were a couple of minor issues with the gutters after the main roof replacement, and the company (including the owner Jerry) was very responsive in making sure we were satisfied with the work.

Shadowfax did an excellent job from start to finish. They finished the job in the estimated 3 days, cleaned up from their work daily very well.

They were good, but they weren't as good as two other companies. They stood behind their work. They came out and started our roof, then they thought they were at the wrong house, so they left while we weren't here. They left the roof half ripped-off. When they were throwing the shingles off the roof, they hit our deck and dinged up the wood.

The experience was good. They answered questions and communicated with me. They got it done in a timely fashion.

We had 5 bids and Shadowfax was very comparible in prices to the rest, however, they were willing to work with us on the pricing of the installation of the tunnels lights and they made suggestions for ventalation options which the other companies didn't. They arrived when they said they would, each morning, and ended their day with a thorough cleanup of the yard and premises. The job was completed within 4 days from the time we awarded the bid. Both John and Jerry were very professional and we would highly recommend their services.

The person who came out what just as nice as can be. It made what I was expecting to be a horrible experience so much better. They responded very quickly, and were so polite and helpful. I was just amazed at how fast they came out, and in the middle of a storm. I was really impressed with them, and when I am ready for my roof to be replaced, they are the first ones I will call.

Initial estimate was from John. He did a thorough examination and listened to my concerns and requests. He told me they were 1-2 weeks out. The job started 9/16. Removed old roof. House didn't have gutters except over doorways, so some timber ends were rotted on the North side. Trimmed off the bad portions and primed; for one timber, sistered in a new end from the wall to the edge of eaves. New OSB deck installed over the entire roof, and Certainteed asphalt shingles installed. Added two eyebrow vents in my garage and 4 on the roof, and subcontracted the continuous gutters. On the last day they installed gutter guards and my solar fan. They also cut my downspouts to fit into rain barrels (I'd asked for that). The crew and the subcontractors worked hard, even working until after 7 pm while the light lasted. They were also very good about cleaning up! They cleaned up well every day, and by the end of the job my property looked better than when they began. My unfinished garage was full of sawdust and grit and dirt, but they gave an honest effort blowing it out and sweeping it up. I need to clean it myself, but they did well considering how cluttered it is. After the final inspection, Jerry went over all the warrantees and the costs. When I commented about the cost for the gutter guards he checked the original estimate and found a discrepancy between the estimate and the final paperwork. He made a deduction, and we were agreed. All in all a surprisingly stress free experience. Much of this work was done during a 90+ heat wave. In the aftermath I can report that I'm totally happy about my white roof, the ventilation, and the solar fan! Used to be if I left the house shut up on a hot day, and returned from work late at night the house temp could still be high 80s or even low 90s. No more! The house is always temperate, even in the afternoon.

We selected the Certainteed Solarian cool roof shingles, which are Energy Star certified. Jerry, the owner, worked with us throughout the process. He gave us the estimate (very detailed), brought out samples of shingles for us to select from, came every day that the crew was working, and was generally very helpful and involved. Also, his crew was wonderful. They worked extremely hard from morning until evening, and cleaned up the area daily. They even cleaned our garage floor to get rid of any dust and debris that might be generated from the reroofing process. The owner and his crew are very conscientious and desire to do a high quality job. We highly recommend this company. We could not have had a better experience with the roof replacement!!

We had an excellent experience. Jerry Shaffer, the contractor, gave us a detailed estimate and took all the time we needed to select the color and type of tile. He was professional, with a folder containing a copy of his contractor's license, his insurance information and a list of previous jobs, with the names and addresses of the homeowners for our reference. The Shadowfax crew arrived promptly on the assigned day. The three young men who did the work were hard working, capable, and very nice people. They were thoughtful and obliging, and they left the area clean and picked up at the end of every day. My neighbor called to say how impressed she was: some of the debris had fallen in her driveway. Apparently, Jerry came to her house and told her that his men would clean it up right away--and they had her driveway clear in no time. Jerry supervised the work closely and kept in touch with us. He assured us he would be available and responsible if we have any concerns in the future. The work was completed as promised by the end of 5 days. It was not an easy job as the roof has many steep pitches. The roof looks very good. Jerry had recommended a roof with a 40 year warranty, but we finally selected one with a 50 year warranty because we liked the color and the appearance. So, Jerry, we will call you in 50 years for the new roof!

Their pricing was very reasonable. They were punctual, responsive and professional. The quality of their work was very good and I was satisfied with their service.

Jerry is fantastic. He is so knowledgable and explains everything in great detail. He also has a way about him that sets you at ease. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, when he was going to do it. We got three bids, Jerry's was the most thorough and the most reasonable. In the doing the right thing department, it sprinkled on the night our roof was torn off. Jerry and his foreman came over at 11pm to cover up the roof. I was impressed by this level of ownership and responsibility.

Pricing integrity questionable. I will stay away.

Jerry, the owner of Shadowfax Roofing, did a very complete (almost two hours) survey and measurement of the house, and presented a detailed quote. He was very honest and straightforward to deal with, and answered all questions very satisfactorily. The work started on time and was completed within the agreed-upon time frame. The workers were very efficient, the work was of a very high quality, and the yard was kept clean during the entire reroofing process. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and with Jerry's responsiveness.

Great! The team was very professional from the first meeting right until the close. They worked quickly and always cleaned up each day before leaving. The owner, Jerry, is a real gentleman. He was lovely in every interaction.

They did a good job cleaning up after them. It is difficult to judge quality otherwise because I don't want to climb up to the roof to check.

Very well. New problems were discovered during the repair and they gave us a reasonable cost to fix it. A problem with stucco patch that did not hold was promptly addressed. Workers cleaned up after themselves and left things neat and tidy. Done right on time and on budget.

I contacted 6 roofers who were all well rated in angie's list - only 3 arrived when they said they would for estimate appointments. Only one listened to all my concerns and produced a detailed quote - Jerry of Shadowfax. That's how he got the job - but boy! we were not prepared for what a good choice we'd made! Jerry is a good communicator - worked well with the solar company we'd selected, let us know what was going on with weather reports, progress, etc. He and his crew are pleasant, hardworking and clean up after themselves! The job had many details to attend to (we have an old house, and surprises are part of every job) and Jerry paid close attention to all of them, making sure everything was done correctly. I can't say enough nice things about this company. You can't make a mistake hiring them.

Jerry at Shadowfax Roofing was the most professional of the 4 roofers we contacted to obtain a bid and his initial price was competitive. We later asked for a different roof (life-time guarantee) and he throughly researched alternatives and provided several, even having the 'factory man' talk to us to assure us of the durability of the material. The next time we need a roof job Shadowfax will the first company we will call.

I think that they did an excellent job. They were a bit late when they came for for the appointment for the quote but the workers were right on time for the actual project. They were a bit more expensive than other quotes that I received, but I went with them because they gave me a very detailed quote. They worked hard and got the job done in one and half days. They cleaned up everything great and were polite. I have received compliments on the new appearance of my roof and it was a great experience. It has rained very hard since I had it installed and there have been no leaks.

Shadowfax gave the lower of two estimates. They started work as promised on a Friday, and finished as promised the following Wednesday. The work looks very good and the whole process went well. Jerry Shaffer was anxious to please and kept in touch during the process. Improvements to the downspouts were suggested by the gutter crew and implemented with my agreement. This improved the overall appearance and functionality of the drainage.

John did the estimate and then revised the estimate to accommodate my choice of venting. The workers arrived on schedule (Ramon was foreman). Tearing off of old shake shingles etc happened very quickly, just part of the morning. They replaced plywood, felt and shingles over the next 3.5 days. Every day, they cleaned up, blew debris etc. They delayed overnight for one area to make sure that the shingles wouldn't be marked from working on sun-exposed areas. My house looks great!

They did a very good job on the roof and gutters. After they completed the job I wanted them to make some minor adjustments to the gutters. Jerry came back with one of his crew members and made the adjustments.

They did a fabulous job. The roof just looks perfect and neat.
