Description of Work: Contacted Mike Howard Garage (& one other company) to obtain estimates to replace garage door opener/motor, rewire, add keyless entry pad & safety sensors. Garage door itself was still in good shape, but door no longer functional after whole house remodel. Learned that Mike Howard had originally installed original door (~15-20 years ago). Very responsive service, good price. Happy with outcome and to have a functional door again. I recommend this company. (Service rep also replaced some wheels & tightened all screws on door at no additional charge).

+ -1 moreInitial call to company was answered promptly and courteously. We were able to get an appointment the next day. Representative who came out initially suggested that we replace the whole opener, since it is at least 25 years old. When pressed for alternatives, agreed to check to see if we could just replace the receiver rather than the whole unit. Would have been happier to sell us a new unit, I'm sure, and it was a bit annoying that we had to push him to consider a repair or a partial fix instead, but once it was clear that was our preference, he was very responsive - even eager - to figure out a solution. He had everything he needed in his truck, so we did not have to wait for parts and he was able to take care of everything on the spot. He replaced the receiver and provided two new remotes (which will work with a new unit should we eventually decide to get one). Then, when the garage door was still having trouble closing, he tightened up all the bolts and oiled everything, and it all worked smoothly. Plus, he did all this quickly and efficiently in spite of our very messy garage. Afterwards, he cleaned up very thoroughly. We felt the charges for the labor and the new equipment were very reasonable (especially compared to the cost of a whole new unit).
Description of Work: 25 year old Garage door opener receiver was not not working. Representative came out and replaced receiver and remotes, tightened and lubricated garage door bolts.
