Description of Work: I told him of a particular error message I was getting. He recommended "starting from the ground up" and running a bunch of tests, picking up my computer and taking it to his shop. Then he would run a series of tests that he runs on all computers. I suggested that perhaps there was someome there that may know more specifically what the problem was by looking at the error message. I said, politely, that I hope he doesn't do the same tests on all computer problems. He hung up on me.

According to our records, we tried to contact you several times after you left a message on Angie’s List as follows: “I have a small network in my office-5 computers and a server. RIght now one of the computers is not working well. I would like someone who could be available should the network or one of the computes fail. Would you do that?” However, the technician did not receive a return call. Is it possible you talked to someone else and we have it wrong? We would never “hang up” on a customer and shocked that this happened to you, even if it was another business. We don’t have any records of work performed for you or a free diagnostic. Any assistance you can give me to look into this matter further would be greatly appreciated. Description of Work: Failed hard drive from PC and wanted data put into Mac. You deal with the technician who works on your problem. They performed the work well and promptly. They were going to supply some info on hardware for future use but didn't follow up, a minor disappointment.

Description of Work: Both my desktop and laptop computers were running slowly. I tried to get help from the manufacturers, Dell and Sony, but that did not help. I took them to Clickaway who discovered malware infections, cleaned up the hard disks and installed anti-malware software. Both machines are working much better. Clickaway was quick, straightforward to deal with, and competent.

Description of Work: I brought my computer in for a free 1 hour diagnosis because the screen sometimes flickered and the computer ran slowly. I was told that the computer would be ready in an hour when it actually took several hours. The technician told me he tried the hard drive in another computer and it was fine. When he put it back in my computer he said he found that the motherboard was bad and he was not able to boot up from any hard drive or CDROM and will need a new motherboard at the cost of $250.00. I left with a computer that did not work at all when in fact it was working when I brought it in. I decided that instead of fixing mine to purchase a new computer which I did. I went to the Apple store and bought a Mac Pro Notebook along with a new printer. My son-in-law was upset that I went in to ClickAway with a working computer and left with one that did not work. He is somewhat knowledgeable about computers and sat down last Sat for a couple of hours and got my computer working better that it has in a very long time. He did not change any hardware.So,I feel that I needlessly spent money now on a computer that I did not need.

On behalf of ClickAway, I sincerely apologize for the confusion surrounding this Member's computer. Motherboard problems can be tricky because they often cause intermittent issues with different parts of a computer before the motherboard fails entirely. Adding to the confusion was the fact that she purchased her new Mac Pro notebook from Apple instead of ClickAway. If she had purchased from us and then told us about her son-in-law’s ability to repair the old computer, we would have gladly taken the Mac Pro back and refunded her money. But since she did get the new computer from the Apple store, we instead offered to purchase the Mac Pro for her. Again, we apologize for the confusion. Our goal at ClickAway is to provide 100% customer satisfaction. We serve over 1000 customers each month and get it right the first time 99% of the time! We hope she will give us the chance to provide her excellent customer service another time.

I came home and found our desktop computer non-functioning. I called Clickaway and left a message. They returned it this morning and put me in touch with a technical staff member. I described the problem and he arranged for me to bring the computer over. When I brought it over they worked on it on the spot and were able to fix the problem on the spot. All in all it was a good experience.
Description of Work: Ken opened up my computer, he cleaned out the dust and reseated the memory cards. Once the computer was cleaned out and rebooted, he checked all the USB ports.

They figured out exactly what to do before coming to the house and brought the right devices with a technician who knew how to install them. Service was competent and friendly. There was a minor snafu in the beginning with scheduling but it was easily worked out.

My computer wouldn't allow access to secure pages and e-mail. I called Click Away and Jake came to my office the same day. They diagnosed that the computer battery was failing. They showed me how to operate until he could get a replacement battery. He came back with a battery and a spare and replaced the battery. My computer now works like new. There was no computer down time, and all problems were solved. He was very knowledgeable and efficient. I would call Click Away again if I have any computer problems.
Description of Work: They diagnosed severe computer malfunction. They obtained replacement parts and installed. They cleaned out programs that were slowing down the computer.

I called days ahead and spoke to Tom who said that they would be there at 11:00 on FRI and that they would fix the problem above AND also connect another computer and a new printer to our wireless network. Tom said "our tech will bring all the parts that you need to connect your computer and the printer." On Fri the tech had not showed up and I had to call. They had somehow gotten their schedule confused and scrambled to get someone out here. The guy was unable to find my address and called me 3 x. Then he had no idea what work I needed done AND did not have the parts OR the time to manage the work that was promised. Because he was a nice guy (and likely it was not his fault), I paid him the $100 for the 15 mins of work (and for wasting about 2 total hours of my time)and then I got another company to do the rest of the work that Click Away had promised.
Description of Work: printer was not communicating with the computer. The staff cleared out the queue and this took about 15 mins.

Their performance was fast, professional and excellent. They removed the dents even though we had not requested this (which made the assembly after putting in the new hard drive, much more of a challenge than it normally would have been). Although it was right before Christmas, they completed the work days before I expected and called the next day to say the work was complete. The price was also about 2/3 of the price we had been quoted in the Apple store.
Description of Work: They replaced a broken hard drive and set-up the operating system again on my son's Apple laptop, Power book G4 1.667 GHz, 15 inch LCD, as well as removing some dents in the frame.

Very painless experience compared to most computer service. I dropped the machine off rather than use a service call. The tech (Eric) diagnosed he problem while I waited, and had it fixed in 30 minutes. The store sells retail parts and supplies, but didn't push any additional services (other than free virus protection.) Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and replaced a blown power supply. Also added 512MB memory.

After receiving a recommendation from a friend I call this company and they set up an appointment for the same day, arrived on time and spent 2.5 hours restoring my system with a complete reinstall of all software and brought my home PC up on line fully operational Service representative was Devin Trinh. Assistant Manager Sunnyvale. Very competent and personable
Description of Work: Reinstalled all software after computer crashed. Brought home PC back on line fully operational. This was a house service call to my home. I could have taken the computer in and saved 50.00, but I think the house call was fair and worth the money to avoid 2 trips and get the job done on the same day.

I was glad to have someone close by that I could call on to fix PC problems...the kind that drive you crazy. The rep was very polite and professional.
Description of Work: The rep came to my home in Los Altos and fixed viruses that had infected my PC. He was very knowledgeable and corrected that problem plus another one I had been having for no extra charge.

I tried to get them to help me with a further breakdown. Could not get them to reply after three efforts. When finally the boy who had come out before got on the line he shut down before I could explain my problem. Felt they were most un-business like.
