Clark's Hardwood Floors

We found Clark?s Hardwood Floors through Angie's List. Clark?s installed hardwood flooring in our house in Saratoga, and they were everything we had hoped for. This was demonstrated in the excellent performance in all parts of the process, from the initial design and proposal, through the preparation and installation, and through the finishing. It reflects the excellent quality in their office, their installers and the management. Clarke's bid was competitive; the installers punctual and immaculately clean. We have been recommending Clarke?s to our friends and certainly would use Clarke?s for any of our wood floor needs.

Clark's Hardwood Floors worked within my timeline with the kitchen remodel. They worked on Saturday to complete the job as quickly as possible. They did a fantastic job. The floor looks brand new.

With only a one week lead time to quote and schedule before we left for vacation, Clarks was able to make it happen. The quote was thorough and their pricing was good. Once we accepted, they scheduled to put samples of the stain colors on our floor so we could see how it would look against our existing cabinets. (Our existing floors were white oak, clear finish, 13 year old with wear areas in front of the sink, fridge, from water etc.--although we don't wear shoes in our house, it was time to refinish). Once the stain color was chosen, we packed all our furniture into the carpeted family room, gave them a key, and left on vacation. While we were on vacation for two weeks they completed the work, locked up, and the floor had time to cure. When we returned, the floors looked great! We used the Bona Medium Brown, with a Water-Based "traffic" grade top coats, with a Satin (not-semi-gloss) finish. The water-based was a good choice: no smell, with hardness ratings (for the product they use) higher than oil-based. Excellent work. We were so happy Clark's could work with our schedule and timing, and they jumped to make it happen. It was the only time we could have had the floors done for the next year. The whole team was good to work with. We scheduled a follow-up visit to get our key back, un-stick a crawl space panel & floor vents, and a couple touch up spots. It all turned out well. The first job was a repair after a leak and we were so impressed we decided to take out carpet and refurbish another floor.

Our experience with Clark's Hardwood Floors was fabulous throughout the entire process - from the initial call to the last coating:) The entire team (Sherry, Nancy, Larry, Javier, Cesar & many more) are extremely professional and will bend over backward to provide excellent service. Their tehnique is truly dustless. Our coffee pot was on the kitchen counter during the sanding, staining and coating processes and there was virtually no residue anywhere:) Clark's was fabulous and providing sample stains for us to select the color we wanted. We highly recommend Clark's Hardwood Floor, will indeed use them again in the future and most definitely highly recommend them.

The work was done in phases enabling me to continue living in the house while it was being done. The first phase was the installation of the new luxury vinyl tile. During that time, I lived in the area of the home with the hardwoods, entering and exiting through the living room door. During the second phase, I lived in the family room and kitchen, entering and exiting through the family room door. During this phase, they masked pictures on the walls and built in cabinetry with plastic and tape so that I would have to remove the pictures and contents of the cabinets. I used their atomic dust free system which kept the house amazingly dust free. For the most part, all of the work was done while I was at work meaning that, not only was I able to live in my house, but didn't have to take time off work to get the project done. The only time I was here while the workers were was on a Saturday when they installed the baseboards and put the finishing coat on the hardwood floors. The products that they used on the floors were not the harsh smelling chemicals that some companies use. Of all the products used, the worst odor was from the stuff used to level (float) the vinyl floors. I was still able to sleep in the house without any ill effects.

The floor looked like glass and gorgeous! You can't even tell where they repaired it. I will be using them again soon for some other hardwood work, and have referred them to friends.

The workers arrived on time, worked continuously. They cleaned up after themselves before they left. Informed us of requirements on walking on floor. The floor looks beautiful. They had already finished the rest of our rooms & this room matched the others perfectly.

Clark's did a great job replacing hardwood that had been damaged by cat urine. I loved their dust and sanding system and water based stain.

Good! Delay in replacing refrigerator because they do not work on weekends. Color not as good as before refinishing.

The workers are very well trained and courteous. And their technical skills are outstanding. They never left mess out of my house that is they cleaned every things when they leave the jobs for day . I never experienced such a present people.

The crew (2men) arrived on time, worked had all day for 6 days, refinishing veery well done replacement wood and repairs excellent trims lovely.

They spent a lot of time with us in the initial stage when we were doing research and trying to figure out exactly what we wanted. They showed us a lot of options, and came out to see the floors in the part of the house we were not working on and the kitchen cabinets, identified those woods, and recommended the matching oak. When we finally figured it out, they provided a timely and competitive estimate. They use a nice system to minimize the nasty dust that comes with floor work, which was especially appreciated since we were still living in the house while they were working. They were clean and considerate, and the work was done on time. The floors were beautifully laid, and they even added an accent strip in the kitchen. This would have been enough to give them straight A's, but I believe the true test of a business is how they deal with problems. Here Clark's went above and beyond. Unfortunately, when the refrigerator was reinstalled, the water tube ended up leaking, and we noticed several months later that there was water damage that turned out to be spread over an area of about 4x12. When we called them, they came out to look (that's how we found out the damage was to more than the small area where the refrigerator sat, which is the only place the damage had become visible). They repaired the damage no questions asked. We were happy to agree to their understandable request to have someone else reinstall the refrigerator after the repair. :-) We highly recommend Clark's and would use them again (which might be sooner than we wanted, since the other rooms of the house now look so sad compared to the beautiful new floors).
