Clark's Hardwood Floors

We chose Clark's because they were highly rated on Angies List and they seemed like they could do an excellent job. They installed completely new hardwood flooring in our newly purchased condo. From the very beginning, Nancy took her time explaining everything we needed to know about our purchase decision and was very patient and understanding. With her help we chose to install a very high quality hickory; engineered downstairs for the concrete slab and traditional hardwood for upstairs. They were very sensitive to making sure that the wood was "conditioned" for our location to make sure we didn't get any cupping. Their crew had to rip out the old hardwood flooring and carpet and did an excellent job. Sherry took over from Nancy on the removal and installation and coordination of their work crews and she was a delight to work with. She made sure the crews showed up on time and schedule and kept me informed of what was going on. As the installation was being finished, she was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. Clark's work crews are all excellent. They take their time and do it right. The result is beautiful hickory lightly stained flooring that we love the look of and believe will last a very long time. You can't go wrong with Clark's. They are the best!

They did a great job. No sign of the old damage. They were quick and efficient. Very friendly. Floors look great.

I was very satisfied with the workers. They were on time every day not to much chatty at all.

First, the scheduling for material delivery was all screwed up. I was promised by Sherry the delivery date since I was leaving the country for two and half weeks. I even offered them to bring the materials earlier but they were confident that they can deliver on time. Then they missed the schedule and I was not in the country. I had to scrambled to have some one coming in (remember I was out of country) to schedule the delayed delivery. On top of this they missed the schedule again for the second time and had to ask my friend again to re-schedule. It seems they are not concerened with customer's schedule even though I have told them way ahead of time. The removal of the old flooring and installation of new went very well. I really like the workers' job skill. They really know how to install and finish the work. They showed me 4 different shades of stain for me to select. The process went very well. The crew who did the removal and installation were two different crews. They don't seem to communicate between them, i.d, what I told the removal crew never get passed to the installation crew. The last was the delivery and installation of base boards after the flooring was installed, stained and finished. Again the material delivery was not to the level of what I expected to be since I already had issue with delivery scheduling. It was delivered with almost no advance notice and was during our storm of the decade, flooding every where where my garage was concerned. I told Sherry that she can't bring the baseboard that day because of garage flooding. But they brought them in anyway. I had to clear the garage (it was already full of stuff from the house) and keep them dry. She wasn't very sympatheric at all. I'll give my praise to the workers for job well done but I'm not sure about the scheduling and planning department.

We first used Clark's about 12 years ago to refinish our existing hardwood floors and put new hardwood floors in our family room. We recently remodeled the kitchen and had Clark's come out to patch the floor, sand and stain it. The only down side to the process is that they are extremely busy. But in my opinion, well worth the wait. Sandy was great in working out the scheduling with me to work around the holidays. Carlos and the guys did a great job. They were on time, clean and neat. The new Bona System is great and well worth it. We plan on adding more hardwood floors to the house in a few years and we will definitely be calling Clark's again.

The floors in two bedrooms were badly worn (they were original with the house, about 50 years old); there were also a few boards which needed replacement, and tack holes all around the perimeter of one of the rooms. Clark's was responsive when I called for an estimate; they told us they were busy and would not be able to do the job for several weeks. They gave us a date and arrived promptly on that day. They also put us in contact with a mover to handle the furniture. The crew was courteous and speedy; they explained when we would be able to go back into the room to close the windows. Our floors look brand new, and they match the newer floors in the rest of the house. The "Atomic Dust-Free" system was worth it -- there was no dust in the rooms being refinished! I would happily use Clark's again.

The team was great. They were punctual, professional and meet all the requirements we requested.

This was an excellent experience from start to finish. The office staff, the estimator, the workers, all top notches. I am delighted with their efforts. The floor looks like new and really brightens the whole room. I would recommend this company without reservation.

Went very smoothly, very nice job and the floors look great.

Floors were maple and others were not confident they could stain them with a good result. Clarks was able to do it and didn't charge me extra for it. Best of all they worked with me to get mine done as soon as possible as we had just bought a house and had a baby due in less than a month. Pricing was on the lower end of our estimates received and professionalism was very good. They mixed many different stains for me so I could find a dark stain which was just right and ultimately they had to mix three different colors to make me happy. (no complaints from them!) They also provided us extra stain so that we had it for our stair railing and other areas which were not being stained by them. Quality was very good but wouldn't say perfect as I was able to see some sanding marks/etc in the floors. Given the maple material and the warnings provided by them, I wasn't surprised that some imperfections were there. (they were also pretty beat up by the original owners) I would have just liked them to ask us to inspect them before they were fully done so we didn't have to feel like a nag to point things out. All in all we will use them again and we are very happy with the result!

Our floors are gorgeous! The new and old floosr are practically seamless and hard to see the difference. Some of the old floor was covered in glue and I was worried it was not salvageable - but it looks almost new now. They replaced some pieces of old floor, here and there when needed and it looks as if nothing ever had to be chiseled out and replaced Created new, smaller heater vent holes. All done with good attention to detail. Our floors are not stained and, instead have a natural finish so there's no darker finish to cover any mistakes. But their work was so good that no stain is necessary. Very clean and practically dust free. Cleaned up well at the end of each day. For the final review, we had them take care of a few, very small areas needing more attention and this was done to our satisfaction. I gave them a B on responsiveness because sometimes we felt that their on-site workers did not completely respond to specific instructions, in the moment. Instead, some instructions were followed later, after speaking to our general contractor.

I had used Clark's before at a house in Willow Glen and they did great work for me then. I did get a few other bids this time that were a little less $$ but knowing their great workmanship from the past and the fact they use the dust-free system sold me on them. I have a daughter with asthma which is part of the reason got this work done. I was worried that the existing hardwood would be hard to match, but they did a great job of matching the existing floors. We had to confine ourselves and our 2 large dogs to only certain parts of the house during the process, but the dust free system used when sanding and the minimal odor of the stain and sealer at least made the house livable while the work was being done. I wanted to paint the baseboards before they were installed and so I had asked them to deliver the baseboards early. I think there was a miscommunication because they were delivered late the afternoon prior to installation so I had to quickly paint all the baseboards the night before they were installed. Luckily we had garage space because it rained (for the first and only time in a long CA drought) right after I finished painting. Anyway, that could have been arranged a little bit better.... but other than that everything went smoothly.

Fantastic job done. We had many areas of peeling finish around our dining areas and around the kitchen island. Almost the entire house needed to be refinished because of the open floor plan. They were easy to work with and Sherry was able to reschedule the work when we had a conflict come up for the original start date. Took about 7 days from start to finish where we could walk on the floors again.The optional atomic dust free system left very little dust on the walls and floors. We were responsible for removing ALL the furniture in the rooms being refinished. Additionally we choose to remove all wall art and everything off the counters. Cabinets were covered with plastic so I didn't have to empty them. At the end of each day the house was left clean and spotless, The floors are stunning now-- just like new. We will have to do a little touch up on the baseboard but we were told that was our responsibility before they even began. We have gotten lots of compliments on how well the floors turned out..We highly recommend Clark's Hardwood Floors.

Total process took slightly longer than originally planned but they maintained overall schedule & completion date. Sanding process was dust-free as advertise.

Albert and his crew did an outstanding job. The special sanding kept dust to a minimum and none of us in the house suffered any- allergic reaction. The noise level was kept down to a minimum and the quality of the work flawless. The proof is in the result - our floors look absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend Clark's to anyone refinishing their floors. All of my questions were answered, I received thorough instructions for maintaining the floors and advice on area rugs and pads. I can't say enough about this company and it's employees.

We were very pleased with the way Clarks refinished our living room floor. They were very attentive when we had to call them back to correct the area that they had blended with our wood dining room floor. The finished product was very professional. The atomic dust free system was wonderful.
