Description of Work: Replaced kitchen counter and installed backsplash that we purchased separately. The workers were very professional and it was obvious that they took pride in the work that they did. Took about a day longer than expected but the quality of work was worth waiting an extra day. We found better quotes but the owners gave us a very comfortable feeling in dealing with them and we could not of been more pleased with them. We are planning other jobs and once we save enough we will be talking with them again.

Description of Work: Remodeled bathroom by replacing tile, vanity, fixtures, and lighting. Project had an issue as tile damage was much worse than initially suspected. Contractor was able to quickly react to it and perform repairs/remodeling within original schedule estimate.

Description of Work: Ed and his crew are amazing! So easy to work with and truly cared about our home as if it were their own. They were prompt, worked when they said they would, and were flexible through the process as we made changes and additions to our original plan. Ed is one of the nicest people and has top-notch integrity. We have already referred them to another friend who did a remodel and would not hesitate to recommend them in the future.

Description of Work: Bathroom remodel - Late responses, poor communication, multiple requests for same thing. Ed Sr is great but his son is not; which is why this review is middle of the road. Ed Sr is the one who came and sold me on his business then ended up sending his son more often. The work done is okay but there are many imperfections that I notice every time I use my bathroom. I'm mildly impressed overall.

Description of Work: Designer Stones planned and performed a total kitchen remodel: new cabinetry, and countertops, new tile floor, new sheetrock along one wall, moving a section of wall, install of appliances & island-style range hood, repair of a section of drain pipe, and finish work (backsplash, wall texturing, etc). | |Unlike some contractors I solicited bids from, Ed did not have a dedicated project manager, interior designer or flashy promotional materials -- but he responded promptly to my request with an itemized bid that was within my budget and included all of the work I needed done. That communication style extended to the entire project: Ed is personable, low-key, and acts like a builder, not a businessman -- but he's always punctual, and responsive via phone or email when a question arises. | |Price-wise, Designer Stones' bid was among the lowest I received; all of the lower bids were either missing work items or came from contractors that seemed untrustworthy. On Ed's suggestion I paid the contract amount in installments as work was completed, never feeling like I was advancing too much money or paying for work that might not get done. Including incidental supplies, taxes and fees, the cost of the entire project was less than $500 over his bid. Several other homeowners I've talked to have expressed wonder that a contractor was able to complete such a large project within budget. | |The initial estimate was for 15 days of construction spread out over three weeks. Ed's team pulled it off in 17 days, taking an extra two days on account of some unplanned drywall work. Once again, it's rare for a large project to completed on time; I've heard horror stories of remodels that drag on for months. Not so when you work with Designer Stones! | |The quality of the work was mostly outstanding; the cabinetry and tile work are all top notch. There were a few problems with the drywall, counter work and finish carpentry. I calmly pointed out all of the defects in workmanship; Ed made sure that they were all fixed promptly and to my specifications. His team really came through during the last two days of the project, focusing on all of the tiny finish details that I pointed out to them and working long hours to ensure that I was happy with the end result. | |I love my new kitchen; I'm thrilled that it was completed on schedule and within budget, and I'll happily do business with Designer Stones again in the future. Their efficiency, thriftiness and focus on customer satifaction serve them well!

Description of Work: Called to get an estimate and my call wasn't returned.

Description of Work: I started to remove 30-yr old wallpaper, but found the old glue too thick and cumbersome for me to remove. I couldn't move the heavy furniture to get to all of the wallpaper. I called for an estimate from this company. They came the next morning. I explained that I work from home and that I frequently attend global meetings, so, I needed quiet as well as speedy work. I received an estimate for more than what I initially needed help with: I got an estimate for the removal of the wallpaper, retexturing walls, primed and painted ceiling and walls, finished and sanded baseboards, as well as the doors.

Description of Work: New hardwood floors in LR, DR, BRs, closets, hall + new moldings, casings throughout. Also, new drywall, gas fireplace installation.

Description of Work: They removed my old cabinets & countertop and did a new kitchen remodel installing new cabinets, granite countertops, sink, faucet, tile backsplash and new 24" x24 " travertine flooring. They also installed the 24" x 24" travertine tile in my downstairs 1/2 bath.
