There were two or three different subcontractors that were completing the work, overseen by JAB. The crews were very professional and they did an excellent job replacing all of the defective work, with careful attention to detail. There was also some interior and exterior painting involved, which turned out very well. Any questions we had about the work were carefully attended to and resolved. We are extremely pleased with the overall outcome of this project. The crew also did a nice job cleaning up debris from our property as well as our neighbor's. We would highly recommend JAB for this type of work.
Description of Work: Work was done on our 3 level condo building to mitigate construction defects by previous contractor. The work consisted of removing all doors and windows, stucco, and entire south facade had to be replaced. Scaffolding had to be erected in both north and south neighbors yards to complete the work, which took approximately 12 weeks.

Our large Master bedroom (addition, about 40 years old on concrete pad) had been leaking water from patio and side concrete path through French sliding doors and opposite wall, staining carpet badly, for a number of years. I had had numerous contractors over to try and fix the problem -- adding more and more layers of sealant outside where the stucco met the patio tile and/or concrete pathway down the side of the house. Nothing seemed to work. Jeff Bressler was the only specialized waterproofing contractor I found on Angie's List -- I was so impressed with his diagnosis of the problem and his prospective solutions, that I hired him on without getting any competitive bids. Jeff and his crew were professional and efficient from start to finish. I really felt I was in competent and professional hands for the first time. He not only completely fixed the problem, but ended up re-doing and fixing shoddy work of prior contractors, including the shoddy original installation of the sliding doors which had caused most of the water problems. I'm no construction expert, but I was there most of the time and could see, step by step, the quality work that was being done, and the top notch, quality materials being used. Jeff's crew were prompt, courteous and cleaned up well behind them. They were in constant touch with Jeff, and he would come over regularly to the jobsite to inspect progress and trouble shoot any problems -- and there were a few once the doors were out and things were more exposed. The finishing stucco and painting were excellent -- you can't tell where the old meets the new at all. I also much appreciated the (unpaid!) time Jeff took to answer other questions I had about the house, give the house a quick inspection all round, and give me suggestions on what to do to further waterproof and improve the house. JAB does a lot of commercial waterproofing work besides residential -- they are top-notch all round, and I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: JAB COnstruction completed demolition work of the lower wall perimeter of master bedroom addition (about 68 lineal feet), removing stucco, rotted out siding and patio tile as necessary. Demolition of stucco around sliding glass doors, remove door, fabricate and install new sheet metal door pan over new waterproof concrete sill, re-set door. Walls completely waterproofed with flashing (and galvanized/powder actuated fasteners), new siding as needed, new waterproofing paper and other protective layers, and different layers of heavy duty caulking and urethane. Door re-set and all stucco replaced to match rest of the walls -- paint perfectly matched. Patio tile replaced.

Jeff spent time with me at various retailers/showrooms and helped me figure out what to buy (who knew there were so many varieties of sinks, tile and fixtures?!?!). He allowed me to select the style but gave me helpful input regarding what to look for in particular items. I now know more about tile than I ever thought I would! Jeff's crew and subs are top notch. They are very conscientious, responsive and take pride in their work. They treated my elderly father with dignity, which I really appreciated. When I found certain things that were not done correctly or that needed touch ups, Jeff and his peeps responded quickly. I think the only major issue we ran into was that the medicine cabinet ended up not being recessed as I had requested, but it was not the end of the world. The end product was still very nice. I have already recommended Jeff to some very good friends of mine who are imminently closing on their first home. I will definitely recommend him to others!
Description of Work: I was faced with the daunting task of being charged with remodeling my dad's 2 baths and kitchen after months of insurance company drama stemming from water damage. I found JAB's listing on Angie's List, called Jeff and he came out within the week to assess the situation. He impressed me with his assessment of what needed to be done and really heard me when I told him I was on a budget. He threw out ideas of how we could get the job done without spending a ton of money, which I really appreciated. Jeff and his people finished gutting the kitchen and bathrooms (they gutted what the mold/water damage abatement people had not already taken out). Then they helped put back together the bathroom from the studs. They fixed the plumbing, updated the original knob-and-tubing electrical wiring in kitchen and bath, installed a tub, installed tile in the tub surround (beautiful job!), tiled the floor, installed new cabinets/granite counters/fixtures in kitchen. They also took down the drop-down ceiling in the garage, replaced a door, replaced some glass in an entryway alcove, removed the "cottage cheese" ceiling and painted the living room and stairway. The house was uninhabited for the first month of the work and true to the other reviews of Jeff's work, his folks keep a clean job site! I went and checked out the work progress in the evening on a few occasions and all of the debris was swept or vacuumed daily. Very impressive.

Jeff and his team did a great job on the siding. They worked hard and they cleaned up after themselves as they worked. The people on Jeff's team were very nice, polite, and respectful. Jeff was good at containing costs. He is also very approachable and explains everything. The project did take twice as long as we originally estimated. Part of that was due to the fact that more damage was found after all the old siding was removed. Part of it seemed to be due to the team moving off to other projects. Part of it was due to winter rains. One of the painters that was on the subcontracted team did poor work. But Jeff fixed it. Overall, I am happy and I would hire Jeff again. As a side note, we had a plumbing disaster on a Saturday shortly after the the siding was completed. It had nothing to do with Jeff at all, but I called him on his cell crack of dawn. He came over as soon as he could on Saturday and helped us assess what to do and also helped us find a good plumber and pick a solution. So I have to say that Jeff went far over and above in helping us in our time of emergency. I can't imagine any other contractor coming over so quickly on the weekend to help with something that had no potential give him more business. It was just a personal favor from him to us.
Description of Work: Jeff's company resided my entire house. They removed all the old wooden siding and replaced it with Hardi board. They also sub-contracted the painting at the end of the job.

Jeff was great and very patient with me. It took a while for me to get the proper documentation and Jeff was happy to come out to my place and give me a quote 3 different times. He was always very honest and open about the process and what would be involved. He didn't try to sell me on any 'extras' or convince me certain things must be done. Once the paperwork was all squared away, he and his team came out to my place and began work immediately. Each day they left the place in a very clean condition. They took precautions against damage and completed the work much faster than originally estimated. I would definitely recommend them to others.
Description of Work: I needed to remove a load bearing wall and install a beam, & demo the kitchen.

We were new the the remodeling experience and Jeff took extra time to walk us through options and make plans before getting started, which was appreciated. Jeff Bressler is a friendly contractor and the quality of the work was top-notch. He offered a very competitive price and assured that we were completely satisfied with the final product. The project had some set-backs, a few out of his control (e.g. weather delays) and a few that he could have avoided with the on-site presence of a good project manager (he fired his project manager shortly after the project initiated). We would have appreciated a bit more communication as additional work was identified (and associated costs) that would be necessary for the project. Obviously dry rot is difficult to identify without removing walls, but we felt some of the finish options could have been reviewed with us during the beginning stage as opposed to the final weeks of the project.
Description of Work: Major remodel for the entire exterior of the house. The existing roof was removed and plywood applied prior to the application of new shingles. The wood siding was removed and new plywood shear applied prior to a stucco finish. All windows were replaced and a few new windows were added (required framing), along with a new front door and garage door. Dry rot was identified in several locations requiring some additional framing work.

Update: the contractor response is only half true. I am a picky customer and i expect the work to be done correctly the first time and I do not appreciate catching mistakes the contractor should catch (like incorrect framing, or incorrectly putting up the water barrier in the bathroom. So no, i can't be pleased with shoddy work. To end on a positive note, Jeff did correct all issues. but the issues contributed to a project that went way over schedule and it was very frustrating. Many mistakes should have been found earlier. It's good to hear the PM was fired. If you hire JAB, make sure Jeff stops by every few days..he knows what he's doing but some of the subs need to be closely monitored. Overall the work was okay. At the end of the day they delivered a good job but it took a lot of recorrection of the work. They had to do a lot of the work twice because it was not done right the first time. The project manager was not the best project manager for the job. The owner of the company was good and worked with us.
Description of Work: We used JAB Construction to do a master bathroom remodel and they built a nursery.

I will aknowledge that my project manager dropped the ball in a fews areas with regards to this project, he no-longer is employed in my Company. However, this client was very difficult to work with, extreamily picky & there was no pleaseing him. We discounted our services & I personally made sure all items were completed to his satisfaction. Our Company mission statement is: "What is best for our Customer" Some people there is no way to please!!!

They are professional and responsive. We interviewed several contractors and we can tell they are experienced. They have given us fairly sage advice. We are trying to decide if we should spend the money on the project or buy another house.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from JAB Construction a year ago and we brought them in again to consult about the same project. It is a home addition and remodel.

Overall it went very smooth. They worked quickly and did a good job of cleaning up each day. I made a mistake when I initially measured for the tile, I was over 100 sq ft short! They informed me as soon as they realized the issue, and worked with me to complete other tasks until the additional tile arrived.. This included having the tile folks out twice to install and grout. They were very responsive when I pointed out problems and corrected them quickly.
Description of Work: They put arches in 3 doorways, and enlarged one of them. They installed approximately 420 sq ft of owner supplied ceramic tile, and installed 2 owner supplied exterior doors. They then painted all the areas where the work was done, including an accent wall.

We first contacted Jeff a year ago when we were first thinking about adding on to our house. After several months we decided to move forward with drawings and contacted Jeff again. We met with Jeff several times, he spent a lot of his time preparing our estimate and answering dozens of questions. When it came down to Jeff and another contractor he was very responsive and understanding our of situation and adjusted his bid to be as competitive as possible. Throughout the process Jeff was extremely easy to work with and get a hold of and I am sure that he would be a great person to work with. Also for what it is worth, he was the first contractor of probably 10-15 to notice a powerline that had to be moved for our project.

I found this company thru Angie's. They came in with the best bid, by a significant amount. They ONLY worked on my house, not juggling projects. They said that would be the way they would do it when they bid the job; I was so surprised that is really what they did. I NEVER had to call them and ask when they'd be coming, what they'd be doing, etc. They ALWAYS called me and let me know how the job would unfold. These guys were great, professional, knowledgeable, prompt. I have used them again since my house job and would recommend them most highly. This was a wonderful experience.
Description of Work: Our house had major work done: new windows, siding removed, stucco applied, old roof removed, new roof applied. The house is almost 3-stories high.

Lousy. I left 2 messages with the guy, and he wasn't even professional enough to return my calls. I could understand if he didn't want the job because it was too small, but to not even return not one but two calls to tell me so is extremely unprofessional.
