COIT Cleaning and Restoration of San Francisco

I like to have my carpets cleaned once a year and for the last at least 6-7 years have only used COIT. Ok, I lie, I used Stanley Steamer once when I in a pinch and couldn't get a time slot in time for my event, but my preference is COIT. I live in the Bay Area....my luck, the first time COIT cleaned my carpets they sent Martin out and I've requested him only ever since! Martin is professional, courteous and efficient! I have a small space with carpet, maybe 600 feet. There's a standard base that you will need to pay no matter how small of an area (not sure if that dollar amount varies from location to location), I don't qualify for any discounts and yes, the price does keep going up but that's to be expected. And I'll pay for it since I don't think I can get the same result and I'm not willing to try. Martin is usually here for not even 30 minutes tops and always manages to arrive early. So be prepared! On another note, I can imagine that good workers might be hard to find in this industry. Let's be brutally honest, would you choose to be a carpet cleaner as your profession? Hopefully their managers are treating them well at the least. These people are lugging equipment, coming into your personal space and providing a service. A service that you don't want to do yourself. Be kind. They are only the messenger.

The technician did an excellent job. My carpet was never cleaned that good before

My impossible to clean vinyl floor looks like new- _it's at least 10 years old.

Smoothly and the carpets look great! Was able to take wine stains out of the rug. Manny was our technician he was fabulous and very informative. He moved furniture and put it back in place when done!

The Air ducts and Dryer vent were clean to our satisfaction. This was done after having new hardwood floors and carpeting installed which produce a lot of dust throughout our two level house.

I was quoted a figure of approximately $2.40/sq ft before the 40% discount was to be applied) I set up a time for them to arrive and they were very good about confirming. I was not home when the technician came, but my 22 year old son was given instructions on what was needed. We had removed all furniture prior to the technician's arrival, so there was nothing to do but clean. He relayed that to the technician. He was given the quote of about $990 or so. My son called me to let me know the fee and I needed the work done so I approved the quote, believing that the 40% discount would be taken care of when it came time to pay the bill. I was called at work about 1.5 to 2 hours later to get my credit card information. I asked if they were done already and my son told me the technician told him he was finished. I spoke with the technician and he told me he was finished and that the price was after the 35% discount. I told him firstly that the price was more than I was quoted over the phone by the initial representative; and secondly the discount I was quoted was 40%. He quickly ignored my questioning the cost and said he would apply the 5%. I was not home, I did not see what was done, so I gave him my credit card information because I did not want to put my son in an uncomfortable situation with the technician. When I got home, my initial impression is that the wood floor was shiny and looked fine. The tile entry and 1/4 bath did not look any different (the grout was still stained in places and did not have a uniform clean look). The kitchen tile was clean (took before photos of the tile because it was obviously very dirty after removing the area rug under the kitchen table). The kitchen grout also looked uncleaned. I waited until the next day to allow things to dry. The wood floor's appearance now is blotchy. It is dull like before in spots and shiny in other spots. The tile looks clean in both the entry and 1/4 bath and in the kitchen. The grout in both of those areas looks dirty and unchanged. If I had been there at the time the technician was there, I would not have agreed to the inflated price, and I definitely would have made him clean the floors satisfactorily. It is my fault for not being there and assuming COIT was a reputable company that would do work they would be proud of. I assumed wrong, because I feel the technician took advantage of me not being present. I would not recommend COIT and I won't be using them at home or at my business locations.

At this time I would have to give less than one star due to the fact that when I received the rugs back (after a month instead of 10 days) they still had a bad smell. I was told by a rep at COIT that the pads were not cleaned but only the top of the rugs (the pile fibers). So it seems at this point that you need to tell COIT how to clean your rugs. I did call COIT and they will pick up the rugs on the 31st of October to take and re-clean. I was told I should have the rugs back in 7-10 days and not 30 days. I will update this review once I receive the rugs back.

I have used COIT in the past so I was expecting the same excellent service. That's exactly what I received!! Devonte was pleasant and professional. He did an excellent job with my grout and dining room chairs. Once he completed the cleaning he had me inspect thoroughly to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the service. Would highly recommend COIT!!!

They showed up on time and did a great job! Have used them many times in the past and will continue to use in the future.

They only cleaned two rooms, it was expensive. I would use them again in the future. They did the best they could. Each technician is different, so it depends on who you get.

The work takes about an hour, to an hour and a half. There were two workers. One last time, two this time. They are friendly, helpful, and they know what they are doing.

It was the same guy that came out. He was great. He was friendly and helpful. He came out with some other guy.

Price was good for the three rooms they cleaned. They happily will move most of the furniture, but a couple they would not move, and I expected them to move the sofas, and I had to tell the guy to move the sofa. The guy was a little annoyed that he had to move the sofa. Could have been more cooperative with moving the sofa. The carpet was also damp for days. I was not sure if that was because the guy did not get all the water out of the carpets, or if that was how they do carpets.

They are one of those company they always having a sale no matter when you call they tell oh we've got a special sell on. Their prices are competitive and fair. Their people are always very nice, their prompt, they roll up the carpets they take them away, they roll up the carpets or the rugs and take it away and they bring it back, they do it on time. They are really good that's why I go back and use them. They do their work well.

Mostly OK overall.. Cleaning outcome was average. Customer service sucked. The guy acted from the start as if he didn't want to be there, and he was not at all friendly or engaging. He didn't offer any of the protection services such: deep cleaning of heavily soiled area, or options to protect our carpets from potential damage by our pets, or scotch-guarding to protect against spills, and did not inform us as an estimate as to how long the items that were cleaned would take to dry. My past experiences were that all these things were discussed as at least a courtesy. I regret that I gave him a $40.00 tip.

Bad Experience 58 years old and dealt with a lot of people and companies during my time. By far, this is the WORSE interaction I have ever had with the 3 people who were with Coit. Of the three people, 1 was with them for 30 years (the cleaner) and the follow up supervisor who was their for 40 years and then the WORSE was their regional manager who was so unprofessional, I was dumbfounded. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! They ruined a $1,500 ottoman and offered me a $38 refund for the cleaning that they charged me. PEOPLE BEWARE They claim to be in business for 60 years and have a 100% satisfaction guarantee but when it comes done to it, they did not perform! BAD COMPANY BAD PEOPLE JUST BAD, BAD, BAD!

I contacted Coit Cleaners, because soil & fertilizer from a terracotta pot had been damaging my light beige living room carpeting for about 8 months without my knowing it. Steve Jaffa told me that he would do everything possible to get rid of the stain, but because of the length of time it has been there, it might be difficult. He put a strong concoction pre-stain on while he cleaned my hall carpeting, & then cleaned the entire living room. I could not believe the difference. He then put a special cleaner on afterwards, & voila, the stain is gone. Steve was so professional, did an excellent job throughout, & was a delightful person. I will highly recommend Coit Cleaners!

Coit arrived and pre spotted many dog stains which I could not get out. Then on with the cleaning and sucking up of stains. Pretty quickly went the job and I did ask him to touch up some of the spots which he took care of. Very efficient and professional was our cleaner. I was Very happy with the results.

It went well, the technician was friendly and professional and got the job done in good time. The carpets look great.

Horrible. I called them wanting an appointment ASAP. They could not come for a week and a half and made an appointment on a Saturday they last day possible before my floors were to be sanded and stained on Monday. On Thursday I got an call with no return number telling me they could not make it and they would come on Monday. No request to call them back to see if this would work. Which it did not because the floors would be sanded! I called there general office number that set up this original appointment. They could not help me. POOR ADMINISTRATION, POOR COMMUNICATION , DREADFULLY UNDERSTAFFED. I HOPE OTHERS READ THIS.

It went really well. They gave us 40% off; they were quick and very thorough. They will also be back this Friday to clean my carpet.

The living room carpet had some water damage. The technician advised us to cut that piece out. Being ignorant, we did. The insurance company later advised us that was the wrong thing to do. Neither the carpet nor the upholstery came as clean as we expected.
