Description of Work: Tom tackled 3 areas that were either termite or dry rot damaged. I thought the jobs were too small to bring in a carpenter but I also knew only a knowledgeable carpenter could be trusted to fully repair the damages. tarting with the porch, which has 1950's detail, Tom replicated it after tearing down the originals with complete ease. He did, however, after informing us that the new metal braces for the support beams would rise about 4" up off the porch floor, use a sturdy but unbalanced moulding to cover them up. They hidden behind shrubbery & we'll modify them sometime in future after we design something clever to work with the rest of the detail. And when Tom can come back. Next, he tore down a bit of housing we had installed for a reverse osmosis water system. Finally, he removed a 4' x 8' portion of wood paneling that was dry rotted. We'd had another contractor look at it who recommended removing a portion of the panel and filling the wall with plaster, a somewhat strange remedy and not the one we were looking for. Tom cut out the fungus-ridden portion in order to re-install a clean piece of panel. After he submitted his original estimate, he & I discussed priming all the wood pieces with Kilz and he added it to his list (and I tied in wherever possible).
