Description of Work: They explained clearly what repairs were most needed. They repaired and leveled the foundation of my 1920's home. They returned promptly to evaluate a concern I had after the job was done, and then they tended to that area. All workers were polite and considerate.

Description of Work: Actually, they only came out for an estimate but they were perfect. I can't speak to their work or cost (though the estimate seemed reasonable) because we haven't had the work done yet. The technician who came out was great and the guys at the office have been very professional and on point in the couple of follow up conversations I've had.

Description of Work: The inspector, Myron, showed up within 10 minutes of the appointment time (and apologized for being late!). He discussed the services that were available to me, answered all my questions, then proceeded into the crawl space and spent almost an hour inspecting the foundation. (He even removed some old scrap pipes that had apparently been left behind after a plumbing job years ago.) He then sketched in detail the entire plan of the underside of the house, discussed the procedure for bolting the foundation, and provided a preliminary estimate for the work. Later that day he sent an email with the full proposal and an exact estimate (which was within $100 of the preliminary one). The work crew showed up on time a few days later and were courteous and professional and were glad to answer some additional questions. The job was finished in a day and a half, as promised, and the site was left clean. The city inspector signed off on the job a few days later. All in all, a first-rate experience.

Description of Work: Job: Inspection of the foundation of a single-family home. First: Cathy, the person in the office who scheduled the appointment was pleasant, professional and prompt in returning my voice-mail message. Second: The inspector they sent, Matt, was very knowledgeable, professional, honest and affable. He did a through inspection, inside, outside and underneath the house and afterward explained in detail the result of his inspection, which turned out to be far better than we anticipated. He then sent a detailed full report within 24 hours mapping out the problem areas and what needed to be done. Although we cannot carry out the repairs immediately, we will definitely use Foundation Works to do the work in the near future. Description of Work: Foundation Works came and inspected my property. Over the last few months, a good number of sizable cracks have started to appear in the plaster walls in my home... enough so that it was becoming necessary to have professionals examine the situation. Foundation Works found my foundation to be in very good shape and explained that a recent hot-water tank failure that I had resulted in moisture collecting along the soil surrounding the stem walls. This resulted in some settling. They advised that my foundation was fine and did not need work. I very much appreciate their expertise and professionalism. Had there been work to be done, I would have certainly hired them to do it.

From start to finish, everything about working with The Foundation Works was an excellent experience. The girls in the office were friendly, responsive and able to schedule an appointment promptly. Tom was there waiting for us when we arrived. He was friendly, professional and thorough. He discovered the defects, explained what he thought was going on and answered each and every question we had. He went above and beyond the call of duty and even helped go through and explain several confusing building/renovation permits that had been provided with the house. Ultimately, Tom referred us to a structural engineering specialist to delve into the problem further. Despite driving all the way to Woodland Hills, spending more than an hour inspecting and sharing his findings, and following up with a complete written report, Tom still waived his fee as he felt he was unable to fully identify the exact reason for the sloping floor. We would 100% recommend The Foundation Works to anyone and will definitely be utilizing their services again in the future should the opportunity arise.

He told me that I didn't need worrk to be done immediately, but that when we were ready to do it he recommended another company that would be more suitable to our particular needs. Tom provided outstanding service. His estimate for the bolting was in line with other estimates I received, but the scope of his work was more comprehensive than the others. I have held off on doing the bolting while I look for more mason jars of pennies in the yard. Tom stays in touch with me, and that is okay because he will likely get the contract. He is very pleasant. I would recommend that you contact him if you need foundation bolting or repairs.
Description of Work: I originally contacted Tom in July 2007 to get an estimate for bolting the foundation of my hillside house. He spent about an hour with me educating me on his services, and then some more time measuring so he could prepare an estimate. We ultimately broke the estimate into two parts: the bolting I was seeking, and a repair of broken corners on the downward side of the house; something I wasn't previously aware of. We immediately contracted for repairing the broken corners (excuse my laymen's interpretation of the work).

Beau was wonderful. Basically told us that we didn't have foundation problems yet, but our drainage system was going to cause some in the future. He told us where our main problem areas are, and the type of gutters that would help. He said his company didn't need to do any work just yet, but I would hire them in a heartbeat if I did need any of their services.
Description of Work: Beau came out and did a thorough inspection of our foundation and cracks inside and outside of our house. Prepared a rough sketch of where certain problems may be in the future. Spent about 45 minutes. All for free!

Thomas came out personally to walk through the inspection with me. He was on time, very polite and very thorough. He pointed out some things he thought could use work but explained that many of the things I was seeing were normal and not structural issues. He could have easily told me otherwise and I would have had no reason to doubt him. He still wrote up an estimate for doing a "retrofit" bolting of the entire house and a couple small cracks in the perimeter foundation at what seemed like a reasonable price ($100). While he was there he also gave me some great ideas for possible future projects since I had asked, and was in the process of buying the house. I may take him up on that someday and would definitely us them for the service. I HIGHLY recommend at least getting an estimate from them.
