Description of Work: My house needed to be anchored to the foundation. I choose Foundation Works from Angie's list and they were very professional. I still receive informative e-mails from them regarding earthquake hazards and safety tips and precaustions. I would definitely refer them to my frineds and associates.

Description of Work: I received a quote for foundation repair and earthquake retro fit. The quote for the foundation repair was very good. Everyone that I spoke with was professional and courteous. I will definitely will use them in the future.

Description of Work: I can't say enough in favor of Tom & his company, Foundation Works. I called him to examine cracks & other changes to our garage floor & he did much more. In addition to examining both the floor, all walls & exterior thoroughly, he went through the interior of the house, from room to room, as well as around the remaining exterior. As he went, he made observations & a few suggestions for rerouting water in order to prevent deterioration of decking, landscaping, walls & possibly foundation support. He does not even perform those services so was not looking for paying business. Instead, he offered to email me a recommendation, & did. As far as the garage was concerned, he made my day, concluding that the cracks & chips are wiithin normal, & while they may look daunting, for a 50-60 year old garage floor on a hillside, we don't need to do anything, except for peace of mind we could take pictures, do some measuring, & track it as time passes for any significant change, which he doubts. Additionally, he was prompt, not rushed, spent about 1 1/2 hours, & extremely nice. This is your go-to guy.

Description of Work: Tom was our go-to guy for multiple foundation inspections while we were house hunting. He is extremely thorough, professional and honest. This is a business where people can easily be taken advantage of, and its really comforting to know you can trust someone. Plus, when shoring up a foundation, there are often multiple approaches that can be taken in terms of what to fix and how to fix it. Tom is great about explaining what should be done and why and doesn't push work that doesn't really need to be done. When we finally found our house and were ready to do the foundation work, we got multiple other quotes just to do our due diligence. The other companies were all over the map in terms of the recommended work and one was literally 3 times the amount of The Foundation Work's bid. We actually ended up going with another company only because we lucked out when another quality company was willing to come down in price by quite a bit because they had a last-minute job cancellation, so one of their crews would otherwise be idle. But their quote was originally about the same as The Foundation Work's quote. We kinda felt like we were cheating on Tom, since he had been so great everything so far but the cost savings was just too much to pass up. And when I told Tom we were going with the other guys he was nothing but gracious and professional. He complimented the other company and said they are the only company that his refers work to. He said he was surprised that they were able to do it for the price quoted since their prices are usually quite competitive (which was true of the original quote) but that if the scope of the work is the same then he agrees that we made the right decision.

Description of Work: Tom came and gave me an estimate for seismic retrofitting to my 1250 square foot house. He was on time, thorough, courteous and informative. The overall estimate was about $4,000 which was in line with a couple of other estimates for the job. I haven't had the work done by anyone yet.

Description of Work: The Foundation Works gave us a very competitive bid to retrofit our structure (a home) to the house foundation (the first time in 80 years since it was built). The company was very honest and did not do any work that was not required. Very efficient and friendly work force. Excellent job. Took care of everything from cleaning out the crawl space, getting all the permits, to arranging for the city inspector to approve the final work. I recommend this company highly; a pleasure to work with.
