The Floor Center

I got several estimates. I called Empire (because they advertise so heavily) and they sent out a representative. The rep floated a prices of $1000, which was way above my budget. I said no. I got her down to $500. She arrogantly told me that they wouldn't even come in the door for less than that. So I showed her the door. In contrast, the rep from the Floor Center was very easy going and low pressure. He took a look at the padding under the existing carpet and told me it was fine and that I could save money by keeping the old padding. That sounded good to me. He showed me some samples, I found something I liked, and he quoted me a price of $300 which was exactly what was in my budget. I said yes. A few days later, he showed up, installed the carpet, and that was that. The carpet looks great, feels great on my feet, and I am very happy. I am especially happy that I didn't pay an extra $700 to Empire!

I cannot say enough good things about Robert and his staff at the Floor Center. What started as a small, contained job kept growing and getting more complicated. Robert responded to all requests for estimates in a timely and professional manner. I originally chose his bid because the price was the most competitive, and he seemed like such a competent person. I was right. As I said, we had a lot of problems on the job, but Robert handled each one. Some of the flooring he originally laid did not match the existing color. Without question, he pulled it up at his own expense and relaid new flooring. He expertly laced in wood that exactly matched. The results are beautiful. The stairway that he had to sand and refinish is open meaning that every tread has a top, bottom and two sides. Sanding and finishing was a nightmare, but he did it and for a good price. There was a place where bamboo flooring had to be pulled up to install a fireplace and he saw right away that matching it would be difficult. He was overruled by the chimney designer, but turned out to be completely right in the end. When the problem had to be fixed, he spent extra time and resources to get the best match he could. He also hung shades for me. I started with three but liked them so much, I put them throughout the house. Again, it was so easy to work with Robert. Everything was done on time, exactly as estimated and with a lot of attention to keeping the house clean.

William came to home to give me an estimate on laminated flooring for den, pool room, dining room and living room. After having other people come to my home I decided to use The Floor Center. William is very nice I went to the Floor Center to check out different colors of flooring and carpet. I decided to do some area in laminate and the rest in carpet. Brian came and installed the flooring very nice. Steve and another gentlemen came for 2 days and instated the carpet I was really worried about them moving the pool table but they had no problem. The all did a great job and I plan on having them carpet my bedrooms.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with the Floor Center! After going to two other flooring shops with little selection and guidance from the staff we tried the floor center and were floored! They had great customer service and a knowledgeable staff that was able to find us exactly what we were looking for. They had the best selection in town. The guy who came to the house to do the stair runner install was friendly, knowledgable, patient and helpful. I highly recommend this company!

It looks absolutely wonderful. Graded areas look great, nicely finished with new molding.

Wow! What a great company and outstanding customer service! The floor center is one of the top rated flooring company on Angie's list and the yelp, so I made the call. Although I didn't end up using them, their quote still out beats other companies and Home Depot. I will for sure to use them for my next home. This review is based on my interaction with William and everyone who has responded to my emails and phone calls. At the end, the contractor we use to renovate the newly bought condo out beat the quote William provided, given they are local and we are giving them other projects, that's why it was hard for William to match the pricing. But I am writing a 5 stars reviews regardless. Here is why: 1) William looks like a Rock star and he really rocks in this business. He showed up ontime and was able to give me a quote right on the spot that out beat two other companies' quote ( including Home Depot) Knowledgable , responsive and professional. 2) he was honest and upfront with me with the kind of quality of work and material the floor company uses and won't use anything cheap, so he showed me the price point and supplier' website. ( which I like and respect, it is weight better than contractor promised you a good price but bring you cheap laminate that is not gonna hold up.) 3) after he has helped us picked out the materials and "ordered" = (Time invested), this horrible person, me, has to call him and tell him that my existing contractor who is remodeling my new home willing to match the material I choose from Floor Center and quote me even lower, William graciously told me that it is okay that I have to choose them over the flooring center, he still has time to cancel the materials ordered. 4) the fact that I feel horrible to cancel two to three days before the job supposed to start and he was willing to put my best interest first and not making me feel bad about it. I am thankful. 5) my next house, I will for sure to use the floor center. If you want a company who stands behind their reputation and quality of work, you have to pick the Floor Center!

We were moving into a new home and wanted the carpets and hardwood refinishing work complete before the movers arrive. The Floorcenter was the only company able to guarantee completion of the job under such strict timelines. We had also requested wool carpets and memory foam padding that require a special order, which made our short timelines even harder to meet. But William was very organized and told us upfront what we need to do to make this to happen. His guys started work immediately, worked through the weekend, and within 5 days everything was done! We now have beautiful wool carpets and hardwood floors and best of all, everything was done before the movers arrived! After settling in, we contacted William once more because we needed to replace the vinyl floors in our laundry room with tile. Unbeknownst to us, there were actually TWO layers of tiles underneath the vinyl, which made stripping out the existing floor even more difficult. No matter, the Floorcenter came through and now we have beautiful floors in the laundry room to go with the rest of the house!

First contact with owner William was cordial but professional and exhibited depth of knowledge. Selections were made and a schedule was set. The demolition crewmen arrived... one on time and the other an hour later so that workday was short. Day two of demo went as the first. Tile installation went well and the end result could not have been better BUT on both of the install days the installer was 45minutes to an hour later that his "promised" start time. Hardwood floor installation was delayed a couple days due to product availability but once installation got started the work was steady and the days were long. Granted the job was not huge (about 400sqft) but a two man crew might have been more efficient. The end result of Greg's work is an example of impeccable craftsmanship. I don't know if I could have gotten a cheaper price but I DO believe I got the best end result possible. I only have one word of caution. "Expedience" If you require it, say so at the outset. Value for money spent = AAA and I will absolutely use The Floor Center again should the need arise. Call them today. You can't make a better decision.

We recently bought a house and had a hole in the laminate flooring where a heater or something had previously been. It was only about 2' x 2' and we had matching pieces of the flooring, but because it's an old type of laminate it was not the easiest repair job. I called several flooring companies and most of them wouldn't even give me a quote on the work. The Floor Center was extremely helpful and they looked at some photos I sent, asked a lot of questions, came to check it out, and then send a flooring installer. The installer worked quickly and did a fantastic job, and he paid a lot of attention to detail and was quite a perfectionist. The floor looks really nice, even my family couldn't tell where the hole had been. Highly recommend.

At the store both Michael and Robert were helpful to me in choosing the flooring and carpet. The flooring took four days of preparation and installation. Detail work for transitions and shoe was excellent (including matching to my paint color). The flooring was a messy job, but the installers were very good about clean-up. They also were very courteous and professional at all times. The carpeting was done over two days and the installation looks very good and I am pleased with it. Again the installers were courteous and pleasant at all times. I am very pleased with the overall outcome.

Went very well. After the first bathroom was done we scheduled to have our second bathroom done. Both jobs had a different installer. The second job went smoother as some bubbles formed under the vinyl from the first job. I called them about it and they came out and fixed it so it looks perfect. In the end we are very happy with the floors. Both men were professional, good natured and cleaned up everything. They also accommodated all my requests about how the trim was installed.

It turns out the company does not have a carpet I would like to use.

Robert came out to bid on our floor repair. He determined that we should wait 3 to 4 weeks to see if the floor cupping straightens out before we proceed any further. As we wait, the floor is correcting itself and therefore there will be no need for The Floor Center to an extensive repair on the floor. Robert was very helpful and honest in his assessment of our floor needs. We will wait for another month before reviewing the needs of any floor repair.

Two installers arrived promptly in the morning and worked very diligently till the job was done at around 4:00pm the same day. As the stairs are magnesite, they could only use adhesive so the labor was more demanding and intensive than a wooden stairwell - they did a beautiful job, very professional in all respects, and highly recommendable.

Each Floor Center installer did a highly professional job and took extra care with the details. They put a thin smooth coat of concrete on our uneven floor before installing the laminate and vinyl. They made sure the floor was perfectly smooth with no bumps or p***** that would show up later on the laminate and vinyl. Our old vinyl had a few bumps and one bad spot from a pipe or metal sticking up and created an ugly crack in our old vinyl. The Floor Center installer took extra care and time to dig into the concrete floor in the kitchen with a chisel and hammer and perfectly smooth it out with concrete. The previous installer just laid the vinyl over the bump and I believe installers from big box stores would not have taken the time to fix it either. After 2 years we noticed a defect or peeling on the trim edge of the laminate. The owner came out right away and checked it out. The manufacturer did not make that part anymore so he had a wood specialist come out who replaced it with even a stronger edge custom made by hand. No charge.

If a review states that a remodeling job goes absolutely perfectly and with absolutely no problems, we tend to discard that review. We are giving The Floor Center an "A" (and we are extremely picky), not because everything turned out perfectly the first time out, but because when things did not, the work was redone to our satisfaction. In one example, the parquet floor had to be laid out in a very specific pattern. On the first night after about a quarter of the floor had been laid, we noticed that one of the parquet squares was laid in the wrong orientation. We were impressed in the morning when Dave and Jason showed up and knew about it before we even had to tell them. It turns out that they sent pictures of their work to William at the store, who noticed it from the photos and had already alerted them. We thought the installers, Dave and his helper Jason, were very good and took great pride in their work. In another instance regarding a much more serious issue, after much experimenting and playing with stains and finishes, it became clear that a satisfactory match could not be obtained between the new floor and the existing floor in the other adjacent rooms. Agreeing with William, we all soon realized that to do it right, all three rooms should be stained and refinished at the same time. Since the contract stated that the new floor would be finished to match the other floors, and that was not possible, we were given a very fair price for sanding and refinishing the other two floors. Finally, we thought the guys that did the polyurethane coat could have been more careful to avoid some streaks and blotches. Every time we noticed something and told the guys or William about it, the work was redone to our satisfaction. In summary, we ended up with a beautiful floor. We waited to see how the floor would hold up, and it is doing quite well, even with our dogs running on it. We subsequently also used the Floor Center to reglue existing vinyl strips on the kitchen floor and were also satisfied with the work and hope to use them again in the future.

Had the absolute best price on the hardwood floor. They did a fantastic job installing the floor in a very challenging home with odd angles. They were fast, friendly and very professional. I would go out of my way to recommend them to anyone looking for new floor.

I called them and we were all set to go with them. The guy came out and everything else and then we never heard another word from them. They did details on estimates and they just disappear. They pick up the samples and after a period of time we never heard any word from them. The lady personnel told us that they will call us on the next day or two and then we never know what it is. They are lack of follow up.

It went great. The people at the Floor Center are pros. They're helpful and efficient. A pleasure to deal with.

Lucas and Tony did a very professional job which included working around complex borders and shapes in the basement. They also had to move furniture around in the room as they worked and were very careful not to damage the new flooring which is a floating (not glued down) vinyl. We had visited the store in Burbank to see and learn about available materials from William who loaned us samples of tiles we were considering for the job. William, the owner, also made a site visit before the job started to be sure he had a full understanding of the challenges involved in the job. We highly recommend William and his crew for this type of flooring installation.

I am very glad I contacted Robert. I almost skipped contacting this company because I thought it would be a longshot that they would install tile not purchased at their store. They did, and at a good price. Communication was great throughout the process. I was particularly impressed that they had a person specifically for hardwood repair, and took the time to repair the floor properly, not simply fill it with putty as other contractors were suggesting. The installers were personable and efficient. There was one minor issue with clean up after the completion of the tile install, but after speaking with Robert when he called to follow up, he quickly worked to resolve it. Overall, the service and quality I received exceeded my expectations; it was a good value for the cost.

They were excellent. It was a small job and the did great.

Their quote was between $16,000 and $17,000. The interaction was very good. They were prompt and had the quote in a few days. They were on time. We have actually used them twice before. We would absolutely use them again.

They were not my first choice, but after a customer service experience that rated amongst the worst ever at Linoleum City I called Floor Center. The price was the same, the service was excellent, Robert was an easy going dude, the product arrived early and they didn't charge 50¢ for per linoleum sample.

They were on time. They were in budget. They accommodated our time schedule. They were in and out fast and cleaned up their mess. Everything was just fine. Even the owner came out so it was a great service. It worked out great. I had no issues. I would suggest them to my family because it worked out great.
