It is 10AM and I am scheduled to have my washer repaired at this time (got the extended warranty) but, just now a rep from Sears called to reschedule the appointment out 5 days from now due to the local tech repair guy cannot make it to my appointment scheduled for now that I scheduled with sears over a week ago. I can understand maybe being a few hours late or maybe even tomorrow, but to completely put it out many days after what was told to me seems pretty bad when it comes to a big company like Sears. I asked for the business info (address etc) so I could write this review but they told me over the phone they don't know who was coming and cannot direct me to who can tell me. I'm sure there is someone or some pipeline how appointments get scheduled and I can "review" with correct info. So since this Sears (with appliance repair) is the closest, you get the review that basically covers Sears as a whole.I have been on the phone with the schedulers without any real help other than they only make appointments. I asked if my newly rescheduled appointment will be for sure or possibly missed again by Sears and I was left with the strong possibility it will be pushed out even further. SEARS DID NOT KEEP SCHEDULED REPAIR APPOINTMENT AND BLAMED IT ON THE REPAIRMAN FOR NOT KEEPING THE APPOINTMENT. Do not trust Sears in regards to repair appointments. Help (or the persons I asked for help but was not) at the Sears phone-lines for repair appointments: Marisa (hung up on me when I asked to speak to supervisor) Eloiza (supervisor)

The day of the service call, the window was 1-5pm, I asked them to see about getting it closer to 1 as I needed to pickup my daughter closer to the end of the window. They called at 1:30 and said it would be closer to the end of the window at 4:30. 4:30 came and went. I called in, they said they would have the tech and quot;call me in a 1/2 hourand quot; What? Now I'm stuck and had to make quick arrangements for someone else to pick up my daughter. Being 5 days without a washer made me desperate to have it fixed that day and I would not let them wiggle out of the appt or reschedule. The tech called almost exactly a 1/2 hour later and said he was on his way. The schedulers had made me the last appt of the day, making it a sure thing that he would be late. Not the tech's fault, but the schedulers. That was infuriating, but I was glad that he was finally on his way. He showed up an hour after the window at 6pm. On the plus side, he was courteous, respectful and knew what he was doing. The washer needed a new part. The door lock sensor had malfunctioned and the washer wouldn't work, thinking the door was open. He was able to change it out, gave me a tip on the downy/fabric softener area and proceeded to clean out the dispenser tray and then gave me a 20% discount to make up for being late. Within 45 min the washer was good as new and working. A service call is $79, but the labor on the repair was more, and the part was around $100. With the 20% discount, the total came to $210. Interesting note, he sees a lot of the washer repairs as computer like repairs, and told me about a new touch screen model that and quot;shortedand quot; after the homeowner flipped a breaker. He had to break it to them that the entire panel (computer!) had to be replaced at a cost of $700. wow. Good to know, if you have a fancy washer and dryer, maybe get a surge protector!!
Description of Work: The washer made it half way through a load and stopped working. I contacted Sears to fix my frigidaire front loader washing machine that we purchased from them 5 years ago. I originally contacted Sears Warranty repair only to get the news that my extended warranty just expired-ugh-figures. Sears Home Repair set up the appt efficiently and courteously, but because of the 4th of july holiday, I had to wait 5 days until the first appt. (Called on July 2, appt on July 7)

Sears is not the company it used to be. My family always used them, and I did up until now. I got a definite used-car salesman type of feeling from dealing with them. The representative did not seem to really be an expert on these systems-----she was the railroad-the-deal-through type, a real fast-talker. Barely looked at the system, didn't measure anything, but was all set to sell me the biggest unit they had at top dollar. Wrote up the contract, but I decided to cancel within the allotted time. She was rather unpleasant and bullying about that.
Description of Work: Had a technician diagnose that my HVAC needed replacing. Then had a representative come out for the hard sell.

They gave me this high-pressure salesman who refused to give me a quote of the bat. The man was in my house for 3 hours and was very hard to get out of my house. He finally gave me a quote, which was double the price of other companies.
Description of Work: I made an appointment to get a quote from a saleman with Sears for granite countertops in my kitchen and a new sink.

Our warrenty covers all of my appliances, so you don't have to have a warrenty on each one.

WORK WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. WORKMEN WERE COURTEOUS, USED DROP CLOTHS ETC. ENTIRE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN 3 DAYS. WHEN A PROBLEM WITH THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS AROSE, THEY CAME OUT PROMPTLY AND FIXED IT. IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT IT HAD OCCURRED.
Description of Work: NEW HEATING AND AC UNITS INSTALLED. VENTING ADDED TO TWO ROOM ADDITIONS. INSULATION ON ALL DUCTWORK DONE. LARGER HOLE NEEDED FOR ACCESS WAS CUT AND FRAMED IN HALLWAY.
