 + -1 moreModern roofing is a very professional company. I called modern roofing to come out and inspect my 15 year roof. When ricky came out he knocked on my door and introduce him self to me. He already knew what he was going to do. Also asked me if there has been any previous leaks but none. He went up to the roof for over 30 min came down and told me that my roof was still in good condition can still last about 4-5 years more. He showed me pics of area that had to be sealed on roof penetration and gave me a very good price with a 10% off cause I sign contract that same day and he sealed all the pipe penetration, corners on ac curbs and ac ducts the same day he took care of it. Very respectful person and professional company. So when I need to re roof my intire home now I know who to call.

 + 0 moreDoug was AWESOME! Modern Roofing started the project on the day and time they said they would, arrived every day around 7 in the morning and worked until 5 or 6 at night. The workers were pleasant and efficient and cleaned up after themselves every day, so the house and grounds looked perfect. They finished on time and the work is spectacular. I love my new roof! We were getting the roof done in conjunction with solar panel installation. Doug worked with our solar company to ensure the overall project timeline was intact. Using Modern Roofing was one of the best house-related decisions we've every made!

 + 0 morePlease see above statement regarding process I had to go through. I did ultimately receive my deposit check back but I would NEVER recommend Modern Roofing inc even to replace a dog house roof let alone a house or condo roof!
Description of Work: The provider did show up but did not perform/complete the flashing repair because provider representative indicated that entire section of roof needed to be replaced. I acknowledge that but thought I would get some type of credit for the work I had already paid for but that was not completed. Representative said he would have to report job to superiors and they would have to have a salesman contact me about coming out to give me a quote on roof repair. I never received a call. A week later I called and explained that I was waiting for a return call. I did receive a call two days later and I made an appointment the following week. The salesman came out and I asked for a quote for the section of the roof I was told needed to be replaced and to replace 3 skylights. We discussed the quote for the skylights and that the section of roof we would need to do a pick up repair and set back down. I signed a contract and the salesman said he would order the skylights and the repair work would start within 2 weeks. A week later I was called by the salesman to say that he was having trouble getting the skylights at the price quoted in my contract because the skylights on my roof sat vertical on my roof. Now I don't know a lot about roof repair but I do know that it comes in a kit and you put in a rectanglular hole once you remove the original skylight. He kept saying the price would be double the agreed upon contracted price and I told him that I thought his explanation was stupid and I expected a call from his supervisor. I did get a call from the supervisor and he tried to not comment on the salespersons explanation but basically said they couldn't get the skylights at the contracted price but he would continue to search and he would call me back the next day. Needless to say I never received a return call. I finally called the company back and told them to send me my deposit check back immediately since they could not deliver per contract. Office staff actually had the nerve to ask me to send them a letter explaining why I wanted my deposit check back. I told her in no uncertain words that since it was their inability to keep their end of the contract that I expected to receive my check in the mail by the end of the week.

 + -1 moreI asked for my cable to be reconnected, I did everything they requested for me to do. I spoke with Bill at Lowe's to get a work order requested by Modern Roofing. When they were cleaning up they brushed everything off the roof onto my neighbors driveway about 50 nails. I also had my house painted, and they brushed everything into that.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman showed up on time and thoroughly explained what he was going to do while he was here. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. After about a half an hour, he was at my door as he had finished. He explained that although older, the roof still had a couple of years left before giving us any problems. H went on to explain that he had found some flashing that had come lose so he repaired them. I was happy to hear the news as we were not prepared to put on a new roof just yet. We were very pleased with the whole experience. So much so, that when the time comes for a new roof, Modern Roofing will be our first call

Description of Work: Re-nailed and sealed loose shingles & flashing. Replaced damaged shingles on back section of roof. Sealed all pipes, vents, a/c corners and cleaned all debris.

 + 0 moreI originally purchased the Buy Now for 7K in June of 2013 but the slope of the roof and the overall sq. footage was a bit larger than what they were willing to agree to for the Buy Now but they added the rain gutter work and it came in around 8.5K so that seemed fair. I had a scheduling conflict where they had to come out 6 months later and do the job but they were very accommodating. I'm on the east coast so I could only stay a week to oversee and review their work. They forgot to mention that they needed access to an electrical outlet so we wasted a day. They started and completed everything except the rain gutters and I had them mail photos and thought the work was good. I knocked off points off the review for a few things like not lining up an electrical outlet in advance of the job, a small portion of the flashing was painted jet black so it stands out from the white clapboards, just seeing one worker and his young teenage son. These are small things and in general I'd say they did a good job and I'd use them again.

 + -1 more91506Modern Roofing did a great job for me. They replaced the roof on my home in November, 2013. I found them on Angie's List and they were exactly as promised. I got 3 estimates and decided to go with MR because they are a roofing specialist. Reno did the estimate and he was professional and knew what he was doing. We negotiated a few items, but it was all reasonable and clear what was expected. Ricky came out a few days before the job began and we talked through everything. My wife has a garden and some flowers that I didn't want damaged. Ricky made sure that everyone knew the plan. Saul and his crew took off the roof quickly and cleaned everything up out of the yard. After the inspector approved, Jaime and his son put the new roof on in 2 days. We had good communication throughout the process. Anna from the office called several times to clarify what the next step would be. I had Ricky's cell phone number in case anything went wrong. Ricky also came out the following Monday and we walked around the house together to make sure I was satisfied. It has rained twice since the new roof was installed and everything is perfect. I highly recommend Modern Roofing.
Description of Work: Modern Roofing replaced the roof on my single family home in Burbank. This included removal of the 25 year old roof, disposal of the old material, and installing the new roof. They also replaced all the vents and painted the vents and exhaust stacks.

 + -1 moreThey came with a big truck that was parked in my driveway to dispose of all of the old shingles and wood that the work crew tore off. They were able to tear off everything in one day. The following day they came and nailed the new plywood to the exposed roof beams and replaced any rotten boards. There was a delay of a day or so while an inpsector came over to check on the work. When the work crew came back the roof shingles and paper went up pretty quickly. They installed the new venting at the back of the house and painted the new and old vent pipes to match the shingle color. They also replaced the gutters that were taken down and cleaned up the debris and nails from the surrounding areas on the ground. They did a nice job.
Description of Work: The provider replaced all of the wood sheeting and rotten boards on the roof, and then applied the paper and new shingles to the roof. They also installed new roof venting. They replaced the roof on both my house and my garage.

It was okay but scheduling was kind of difficult because I think they were interested in doing an estimate for additional work as well and that wasn't what my purpose is not purchasing the project.
