A two-man crew arrived on time and as promised. They did the work professionally and promptly. They also cleaned and vacuumed up the front and back yards and rear patio after completing their work. In addition, they ran a magnetic tool over the yard and patio to get any nails that might have fallen during the nailing of the roof cap shingles.

They responded fairly well. It took them a while to come out. He could not get on the roof because he did not have a ladder that would get him up. That was frustrating. It did not seem very professional. However, he was punctual. Then he spoke about re scheduling the visit. Since I had not planned to use him, I thought I would wait and see what would happen. It took him 12 days to call me back. He said that he called some people but no one was available and said he could re schedule the visit for 2 days after that day. That would mean that he would take 14 days to get on the roof and check it out. We never got a quote from him.

We had Mike come take a look and give us an evaluation on our new house's roof and an estimate. Unlike some of the other contractors we had out, he did not try to push us into a new roof immediately but said that we could get five more years out of it if we did some relatively minor repairs. Mike was a very friendly, helpful, and impressive guy, and we were happy to schedule the work with them. The crew came about a week later and finished the job in a half-day. It seems fine, and the only problem I had was that the crew had no communication whatsoever with us. I went out to say hello when they arrived, and they clearly didn't want to talk to me. They did the work, and then left without even a word to us. I thought they were going to let us know when they left, and give us a status report on the roof. So we were happy with the work but pretty disappointed in the communication.

From the estimate onward, Modern roofing was punctual, knowledgable, efficient and professional. The estimate was given on the spot by Mike who walked me though the idtemized price list that made everything clear in terms of what would be done and the price of each element, including what price would be in place for certain unknowables at the time of the estimate, e.g. if there were going to be any rotted plywood that needed to be replaced under the existing roof. The ten man tear off crew was on time and efficient as was the crew that appeared the next day to virtually complete the job. Each day the clean up of the yard and driveway was completed with care and proficiency. Almost all of my plants came through the process unscathed. Modern's price turned out to be less than some of their competitors and they used superior materials to boot, e.g. 30 lb felt instead of 15. The project manager Roger was knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. All in all, in was a very smooth and successful experience I had with Modern roofing who I would use again and wholeheatedly recommend.

This is an 82-year old house with at least two layers, and in some cases three, of old roofing material. There were no gutters on the house. Some of the wood structure around the roof was rotted. The crew from Modern Roofing was prompt, efficient, and cleaned up very well when the job was done. The new roof, replaced wood, and gutters gave the house a real 'facelift' and we have been extremely pleased we chose Modern to do the work.

After getting multiple bids on the new roofing job we contracted with Modern Roofing. Orville Witt was the Project Manager. He and his crew did an excellent job. They were right to their original schedule, even though I caused some extra work that needed to be done. The quality of workmanship and the crews courteousness was very much appreciated. They cleaned up every day before leaving and were very pleasant to have around. I would recommend Modern Roofing to anyone needing a new roof.

Earlier this year we contacted Modern Roofing and one other company asking them to provide an estimate to remove the two old roofs on our garage and multi-storied home and replace them with a new modern roof. As we have shrubs and plants around the parameter of our home and garage and, as the removal of the old roofs would require extensive work and would generate substantial debris and potential damage to the foliage that my wife had tended and neutered for many years, we were apprehensive about beginning this task. Additionally, as we have no expertise in roofing, we had no way to determine if we were receiving a fair and equitable quotation for our needed tasks or if it would meet our hazy view of ?we need a new roof? requirement. We began by researching Modern Roofing on the Better Business Bureau web site. We were quite pleased to find that Modern Roofing had been in business for over 20 years and that they held the Better Business Bureau top business designation. We researched beyond the Better Business Bureau site and we were unable to find anything that caused us to discontinue with moving forward with Modern Roofing. We requested them to have their estimator visit us, examine our roof, provide their professional estimate of what should be done, available products on the market to meet our needs and their option on the best way to proceed. When the estimator arrived, we discussed a couple of roofing tasks that we need done to make our roof more functional when the new roof installation was completed. Our estimator reviewed what we required and did a very thorough job of walking the roof of our multi-storied home, taking detailed measurements, looking for potential issues and taking notes of his observations. When he had completed his technical review, he showed and explained the product lines and we chose our new roof. He then reviewed what would be done by Modern Roofing, gave an estimate on how long it would take and how quickly the job could be started. We were given a written proposal outlining everything that would be done by Modern Roofing, including the additional tasks that we wanted, and roofing that we wanted installed. He reviewed this document carefully with us we and tentatively accepted the proposal and moved forward with obtaining a second estimate. We provided the other roofing company with the particulars of the Modern Roofing proposal (except the price) that was provided by Modern Roofing. The estimator reviewed the particulars of what we required and also did a very thorough job of walking the roof of our multi-storied home, taking detailed measurements, looking for potential issues and taking notes of his observations. He also reviewed submitted a proposal to do the same work as Modern Roofing however, their bid was $8000.00 higher than Modern Roofing. We declined this offer and signed with Modern Roofing to have the job done. Our anticipation at initiating this task was unwarranted. The job started on time, protective sheets were placed in key areas to catch the debris and the crew began removing the old roofs. The Modern Roofing project manager was on site or in contact with the crew throughout the days to ensure that all was going well and that we were kept up to date on the progress. The crew members worked diligently were very courteous, professional, quite willing to answer my questions and did an amazing job at keeping the area around our home and garage clean and tidy. When they left for the night, everything was picked up and moved out of the way, the debris removed and the driveway, and patio area swept clean. This same profession demeanor continued as the old roof removal ended and the installation of the new roof began. Everything went well, we lost no plants, virtually all of the debris was removed and our new roof and our requested tasks were completed to our specifications and they looked great! We have absolutely no reservations in recommending Modern Roofing for any roofing needs.

I was pleasently surprised when I found out I did not need any work. Ernie came out to look at the roof and found that there was no issue with my home's roof. You have this preconceived idea about contractors and how they are out to get your money. Well that was not the case with Modern Roofing. This is the place I am going to call for any of my roofing and window needs. It may be cheaper someplace else but the respect that they have earned means more than money.

This was a great job; it was very well done.

Outstanding, this was the 2nd job that I had Modern Roofing do and as with he first it was perfect. clean, quiet, within budget, no issues whatsoever.

The staff was punctual, polite, and worked in a very professional manner. The contact person was very professional and helped me with critical decisions. We changed from one type of roofing to another after thinking about his recommendations and research. He contacted me daily with the schedule of work and kept me apprised of work progress every day. It was a well run professional project and I will be using them in the future to add some gutters to the house when I can afford more work. I cannot recommend this company enough for professionalism and safety.

They did a really good job and it looked great. The building had four apartment units so the roof was large.

I thought I needed a new roof and so I set up an estimate with Modern Roofing. As it turned out, I only needed new ridge caps. I appreciate that Modern Roofing was honest and did not try to sell me something I did not need. The job was done well while I was at work and cleaned up by the time I got home.

The company did a great job coming out and performing the inspection and providing me with the quote. The person who came out was very straight forward and honest. I've had several other companies come in prior with mixed results. Once it was decided that Modern Roofing would get the job, the office staff was very good in coordinating the time when the roofing took job would take place. Also, all the city permits were taken care by the company with no involvement on my side which was great. The only item which kept the job from being flawless was the coordination of the city inspection. It took a couple of weeks after the job to finally get the inspection done. The office said that it was the city, but i spoke with the inspector and he stated that they called him in prior before the job was completed. Overall, Modern Roofing did a great job. I'd certainly recommend them to friends and family.

I read through a list of reviews of this company and they had excellent reviews, so I decided to give them a try. When they came out to do the quote they were very personable. They wanted to help me and were very detail oriented. They have gone out of their way to help me and work with me. They have been great to work with so far.

He had given me a flat quote, a lot of the others wanted to leave room for variance to remove roof and what they find under it. He did everything he said he would, for the price he said he would. He did end up putting more into it than he expected. He honored his quote. They did it really fast, had great clean up (every day they cleaned up). Showed up on time, they left on time. There were a few things afterward, details, that I wanted them to look at. They came back, did everything I asked without charge. In addition to being one of the best quotes, I got excellent service.

I sent Carl an e-mail thanking him for his time and courtesy, and he called to ask why he didn't get the job. I told him about the factors detailed in the other proposal, and he said he could match them. However, since they weren't provided originally, we had no idea that would have been the case.

Sometimes they wouldn't call me back when they said they would. But they did apologize and we set it straight. They wouldn't keep me abreast as to when the job would be started, or what was holding them up. But all in all, I would use them again. I liked the work and it was not over priced. And, I did not feel that I was ripped off or anything like that. It' a good company.

We have several roof leaks that keep getting worse each time it rains. We have had several roofers and repair people out to fix the problem, but it has not gotten better. Finally, I decided to just consider re-roofing the entire house, and called Mike, the owner, for an estimate. He stayed for quite a while, inspected the roof, honestly told me that it did not look like we needed to replace any part of the roof, and helped me find tiny cracks in some duct work we had. At long last, we have the answer to our problem! Mike was extremely courteous, and even gave some advice on cleaning out our gutters. I had asked to go on the roof with him, but he told me that when, like most people, someone does not go on their roof themselves, he can take pictures with a cell phone to help them see and understand exactly what is happening on their roof. Very honest, professional, helpful guy. I will definitely consult their company next time I need roof work done.

Mike Donnell, our salesman, went above and beyond in locating discontinued clay tiles to match existing, personally driving out to pick up 2 skylights for his us and had great followup. Pricing was very fair against competitive bids. Strongly recommend!

Astonishingly good experience. The owner, sales rep and foreman were all smart, polite, friendly, responsive, professional and easy to work with. 40 other roofers refused to work on my roof, due to complexity of job. I had to see 55 roofers just to get 3 decent bids. I received bids from $8,000 (junk bids) to $30,000, and even two bids at over $65,000. Modern came in at about $17,500, which was on the high end of the middle. So, it was a hard project, and Modern handled it with ease. Where there were minor glitches, they resolved them quickly and easily. They finished the job promptly and without interruption (some contractors start, then go away for several days or more before resuming work). The rep and/or the owner were on site almost every day. I'm extremely happy.

I'M SATISFIED WITH THE WORK THEY DID, AND I'M SATISFIED WITH THE WAY THAT THEY DID IT. THIS IS THE SECOND ROOFING COMPANY I HIRED, AND THEY WERE LIKE A DREAM COMPARED TO THE FIRST.
