WOW! Joe was the best. He was able to get the job done in literally a couple days (FAST!!) from my first phone call. The concrete pad looks spectacular, exactly what we wanted. He communicated from start to finish, he and his workers arrived on time, got it done efficiently, and the price was very reasonable. Call Joe if you need any concrete work!

I’m always happy to give good reviews and say “this is the guy you want.” Demolition was done in an organized way and cleaned up before leaving for the day and most importantly, the finished job is done right and looks great — they are skilled. Joe has decades of experience and has trained his guys very well — they are focused and hard working so they are pretty impressive. Two examples: When the guys dig, they don’t toss the dirt like wild monkeys, they place it as calmly as possible to prevent excessive dust from flying around. That’s the way it should always be done. When they unloaded a pile of sand in my driveway, they didn’t pour it on the cement as most do, they laid down a plastic sheet first and then wrapped that around the pile overnight so the sand couldn’t blow all over the place. And when a little bit of sand falls from the shovel onto the cement, they sweep it up. They are not lazy! And an example of how good Joe is: One of the things he did for me was to put in a drain pipe with a pump. After he installed the pump, he knocked on my door to ask me if I wanted the paperwork that came with the pump or to just leave it in the garage. Workers will usually either just leave any paperwork outside or even just throw it away. Joe took the time to ask me what I preferred before he left for the day. Being respectful and helpful is being smart. It’s so wonderful when you find quality people. They work from 7:30 to 3:30 and play music sometimes but are not talkative to one another. If you want a great painting company, hire Larry Bisordi or Esteban Nunez Casillas. If you want a great masonry company, hire Joe Messineo.

Having managed dozens of renovations over the years, both commercial and residential, I can say that Joe Messineo is the best contractor I have ever hired, in any craft. No minor distinction. A 3rd generation master stone mason, Joe is an old school modern craftsman who produces quality builds. I engaged him to demolish and rebuild virtually all of the hardscape at my home---driveway, side walkways, French drain, brick patio inserts, and over 150 feet of retaining walls. A 7-week job, with more than a few moving parts. Joe’s team, Enrique and Claudio, worked like stunt men in a choreographed manner, carefully removing thousands of pounds of old concrete and cinder blocks, positioning rebar and framing the sites for cement. The worksite was clean and orderly at the end of each day. Then, 2 generations of Messineo---Joe, with a guest appearance by his father, built a complex series of retaining walls and brick inserts, that will clearly last decades longer than the original work from 1959. Every line dead-level, every elevation plumb, and every surface finished perfectly. The concrete team that completed the job with 2 truckloads of wet mix, delivered flawless slabs of new surface. Their overall level of craftsmanship and professionalism is not often to be seen these days, and it deserves recognition when it arrives.

Joe put in a new brick patio for me. It turned out so nice. Each brick had to be individually laid. He said over 3000 bricks. It looks beautiful. He is very skilled at his work.

Messinio masonry had previously built a retaining wall for us. It was superb work. So when we needed concrete stairs repaired I called Joe again. As expected, great job. The thing that separates Joe from many contractors is he is doing the work. He doesn't just have his assistants work while he "supervises." He is doing it. He has a lifetime of skill that he brings to the job. He's smart, talented, always on time and delivers what he has promised. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very well. Joe met me at the stone vendor twice so I could see various options and select the color and style I wanted. He and his workers showed us sooner than I had expected and did agreat job in a short time. They removed and reserved the old stone at my husband's request. The walkway looks great and is very level and stable.

It went great!. Joe gave us a good estimate. The work was done in a timely fashion as well as clean up. My mother's back yard had a leaning block wall that needed repair, Actually we had to replace the wall. Joe's suggestions were great and the wall looks fabulous. Joe also repaired a section of her driveway. as well. Would highly recommend Joe and his crew. They are professional, knowledgeable friendly.

I had a 50+ year old concrete patio that has multiple patches of varying concrete colors and lots of cracks that needed to be replaced. Joe and his team removed the old concrete and replaced it with pavers. Joe did exactly what I asked and even made some improvement suggestions that I am very happy with. They always arrived exactly on time and worked very hard during a very hot summer. They are consummate professionals. It has been a couple of months since they completed the job, it looks wonderful and I get a lot of complements on it. I could not be happier with the outcome.

Joe and his team were absolutely excellent to work with. He was communicative throughout the process, made it clear when he would arrive and the expected timeframe of the job. He provided a comprehensive estimate of the job prior to starting and was patient with us as we decided the scope of the project. He was clear what additional costs we would incur for additional work. Payment schedule was clearly communicated upfront and he was quick to ask and double check on things to make sure we were getting the size and look of the walls we were going for. He and his guys worked fast, professionally, cleaned up after themselves, and went above and beyond to impact our day-to-day lives with an infant as little as possible. The work they did was top notch! Walls couldn't be straighter, grout lines more evenly spaced, or job site left any cleaner. We are thrilled with the work they did and will be sure to hire again in the future!

Joe was great about coming out to give a quote, helping me understand what needed to be done and what the issue was with the existing stonework. The quote was fair, his team was quick and did a great job. Would definitely hire them for more work when it's needed.
