Mike was punctual and responsive with the estimate. My flooring request was unusual (repair and finish a light weight concrete sub-floor) and so after a couple of hiccups to agree on the best path forward, Mike went right to work. Due to his team calling in sick, start was delayed by a day unexpectedly (moving punctual from a --> b). Mike mentioned that he would call at the end of each day to provide a status on the work (I stayed in local accommodations to provide him free reign); he only did so on the first day -- I had to call subsequently (professionalism & responsiveness a --> b). The floor turned out beautifully. The moulding I was less impressed with, I would have liked to have a 'wow' moment, but despite knowing I would have to paint them, it was not made clear I would also have to DAP the gaps; additionally a few pieces were not cut properly and a door casing was not done as requested and agreed upon. However, since this is minor in relation to the whole effort, quality still remains an 'A'. I will be calling Mike back to do work in the future as I appreciated his willingness to try something new, build trust, use a team of polite, respectful and well-spoken individuals, and do 'A' quality flooring work.

Daniel, Zack, and Titio did an EXCELLENT job installing a new mahogany floor and bamboo wainscoating in the den. Their professinalism shows extremely well in their finished project. We are so very happy with the quality of their work!

M&M Custom Flooring are people of integrity. They were very punctual. They stuck to their numbers, there were no surprises. The workmanship was simply flawless. I would hire them again without a second thought. They are at this point, the only flooring contractor I would ever use.

Mike and his crew were nothing short of outstanding. This is the second time I used M & M, and this time I feel just as I did the first time I had them refinish our floors. Not only did they patch in small areas of wood flooring, lay new wood, manufacture bridging thresholds, sand, stain and apply the polyurethane, but they did all this in three days. They were there from sunrised to sunset, and worked diligently every single day. The process do finish these wood floors requires a great deal of labor and back aching work. Yet Mike's crew did all of it with a smile. It is very evident that they take extreme pride in their work, and it shows. My wife and I are extremely happy with the floors, and we have received numerous accolades about how beautiful they are, and most of the flooring is 72 years old.I cannot give M & M enough praise, but I can tell anyone who wants their wood floors refinished, or new wood flooring installed, you will have a very positive experience with Mike, and you can rest assured his men will provide you with the finest wood flooring.

The team worked while we traveled so we didn't see the work process, but when we got back everything was done and ready for us to move our things back into the rooms.

I knew the job was going to be problematic , but Daniel worked through all the issues quickly and effectively. The finished work was amazing and the bungalow now looks new. Daniel and his helper were punctual, got the job done on time and on budget. It was a pleasure working with him.

Mike and his team did a tremendous job with our house. The workmanship is outstanding. Mike is a great guy to work with. He was responsive to phone calls and really got things done timely as promised. The bid was reasonable and we could not be any happier.

Once again a totally great experience with M & M! Work started bright and early on a Thursday morning. Daniel and Zak moved the refrigerator and washer & dryer. In fact Daniel found a problem hose (big bubble) to the washer and replaced it for me. My ancient linoleum floor (holes and all) was pulled up, all new plywood replaced underneath, and the floor was floated. Friday, DuraCeramic tiles were laid and grouted. A few hours on Saturday to Replace all base boards and move appliances back! All debris was cleaned up and hauled away. I am really happy with my floors and have complete confidence in M & M Flooring!

In a word: Excellent! These guys were willing to show up for the estimate late in the day to accommodate my work schedule, did all the flooring work in a little over a week (not counting the curing time for the new wood) and worked on weekends to be complete by my move in date. It wasn't the cheapest bid I'd seen (and I'd gotten several) but the personality of the guys, and my feelings about their capabilities is why I went with them. I'm glad I did, my floors look FANTASTIC, people who saw the before as surprised this isn't entirely new wood. Communication was a breeze, between daily phonecalls, emails or texts, all in all I'd say M&M Flooring is the right way to go if you need floors done.

We found Mike (M&M Flooring) through Angie's List. We received five other flooring quotes and by far, Mike was the most educational, responsive, and professional. The night of our first appointment, not only was he on time -- he arrived 10 mins early. We had extremely uneven floors from the living room, dining room and into the kitchen (all on one level). We had parquet floors and engineered wood on the uneven floors and Mike could clearly see the problem. He educated my husband and I on what needed to be done and how he would correct the problem. He didn't employ scare tactics or overwhelm us with technical jargon. He honestly explained to us our options based on our budget. He was very prompt in providing an accurate and detailed quote -- not once, but twice, as we asked for a revised quote when we changed the nature of the job. Regarding our changing the nature of the job -- that came about because Mike was able to make suggestions that would help us cut costs and still achieve the results we were seeking without sacrificing much. We also emailed Mike photos of the type of wood flooring we had envisioned and he knew exactly what we wanted. By understanding our style and budget, at our second meeting Mike brought the exact style we wanted that was within our budget, and this made the selection process so easy! During the installation, Mike kept us informed about the process and specifically how many bags of Ardex he was using - since he was only charging the exact number of bags he used. He ended up several bags under budget. We have busy work schedules and could not be around for most of the installation, but we felt VERY comfortable about the progress Mike and his crew were making each day. We felt extremely confident that Mike and his workers were going to finish the job on time and do it right. It's so common for contractors to cut corners in order to meet a quoted deadline or budget (we know from other contractors we were using for other projects at the same time we were using Mike!). Mike, however, never jeopardized the craftsmanship over budget or time concerns -- he just knew what the job would require, communicated it accurately from the beginning and delivered. Mike also educated us on how to properly care for our floors. He provided us with floor protectors for the legs on our furniture pieces (at no extra cost) and even advised us on the type of vacuum cleaner we should purchase so that we could use a vacuum with rollers that would not damage the floor. In the end, we have BEAUTIFUL maple floors that we LOVE LOVE LOVE (and receive compliments on). Furthermore, the baseboards along the floors could not have turned out better -- they are a thing of beauty. We enjoyed the entire process and working with Mike. He made it so painless and easy. We felt so confident that he would take care of our floors and home - true respect. We have NEVER met a contractor like Mike. He's a professional in the truest sense of the word, and we look forward to using him again.

Miike came out to give me an estimate on replacing ceramic tile flooring in 2 bathrooms and replace tile in my kitchen with bamboo flooring . All these rooms were small. He was very professional and appeared to be very honest. I called about 4 days later to ask for the estimate that was promised the day after coming out to the house. Once I received the estimate, I attempted to negotiate and responded back via email. Again, about a week later, since I did not hear from him, I called to see if my email was received, which it was and was promised an answer in a few days. I never heard from him again to this day. The reports on Angie's list were impressive and I am sure he would have done a great job, but if he was too busy or the job too smaill to take, I would have preferred to be told rather than kept waiting for a phone call that never came.. I gave the company a D rating for this reason and just didn't feel right giving the company an F.

I simply cannot rave enough about Mike, Daniel and the crew. From the beginning I got a sense of professionalism and integrity from Mike. He is a man of his word. Mike educated me on the different options that were available and was happy to show us as many samples as we needed to make our decision. We never felt rushed. Daniel handled the vinyl tile area with such attention to detail which we so appreciated. I had to go out of town for four days and left Mike the keys to our home. I never hesitated about doing this. While I was gone, Mike spent some time (and several trips to the hardware store) coaxing a stubborn pocket door into submission to surprise me upon my return!! I feel like Mike's bid was a fair bid. The work was done on time. The work area was cleaned up daily. The crew was pleasant to be around and I liked Mike's respectful interaction with them. The floors look beautiful and make me smile every day. I would HIGHLY recommend M & M Custom Flooring without any hesitation. You will be glad you did!!

We were so happy with this company from start to finish! Mike brought samples out to our home and was great about explaining the differences in the materials so we could make the best choice for us. We received an estimate by email detailing what would be done. They were able to start right away, and they planned it so well and thoughtfully as not to put us out as much as possible. Daniel was on site each day and really kept me informed about where they were and what they were doing. 15 year old carpet was pulled up, new plywood put down, and engineered hardwood planks put in place! New base moulding too. They didn't try to push things on us that we really didn't need. In fact I was planning on a moisture barrier being put on the cement floor of the family room,but Daniel tested the levels and let me know I really didn't need it. (saving me money!) They moved and put all the furniture back and even put the little round felt pieces on the bottoms of the furniture. Even my husband was impressed! It's a beautiful and professional job that has changed the entire look of our home, and M & M has restored my faith that there are still contractors out there with integrity. I am very excited to see what they can do for my kitchen next!

Since I knew I wanted everyroom done, Mike had the task of replacing the fiberboard with new hardwood and then making it blend in with the old hardwood. He did it so seamlessly that I defy anyone to find where the old wood ends and the new wood begins! Also, the hallway and other parts of the house had so much pet damage hidden under the carpeting that a lot of it had to be replaced with new wood. No problem for Mike! Since I wanted the whole job done at once, my furniture, pets and I had to move out of the house completely for many days. But, believe me, it was worth the inconvenience because the floors are spectacular! The price was more than I had planned on because of all the hidden surprises we found. Even so, it was a fair price for all the work that was done. And the results are incredible! I can not recommend this company enough. I called several flooring companies, but Mike was the only one who not only returned my call, but scheduled a day to come out and give me an estimate on repairing and refinishing 50+ year old wood flooring. Mike was prompt to our scheduled appointment, and carefully inspected all the flooring do get a sound idea as to what needed to be done. There were areas that we thought would be difficult to repair, and areas that the wood flooring definitely needed replacing. Mike and his crew began refinishing the wood floors that covered two bedrooms, a hallway, living room and dining room. They took the time after sanding the floor to put apply three different stains so that we could make a visual decision on how the floors would turn out. The even put a coat of the polyurethane which added to the stains appearance, which is important when refinishing the wood flooring. All of this was accomplished in approximately three days. When the floors were finished, we were happily stunned by how beautiful the floor turned out. It looked like a brand new floor, despite its age. We could not be happier with Mike's work and it was done to perfection. The carpeting came out just as nice as we hoped, and the color complimented the newly refinished wood floors perfectly. Now the flooring in the house looks magnificent, and we owe it all to M & M Custom Flooring. Mike was very much hands on, which gave us confidence that the work would go smoothly. He was professional, and yet a down to earth person, who we could easily talk with and know that he was listening to us and not giving lip service. The money we spent to have M & M Flooring redo the wood floors and recarpet was worth every penny. I'd use them again in a heartbeat, and I would not use anyone else after working with Mike. Honestly the best experience with any company ever. Professional, friendly, competent with great attention to detail. Mike & Dan are an excellent team and make it very clear that they care about the work & want the customer to be happy with the entire process.They even purchased the paint for the baseboards (to be reinstalled) and took them home for painting to guarantee completing the job in the estimated time frame. The floor looks fabulous! Would recommend to everyone searching for a new kitchen floor.

M&M is a company of exceptionally experienced, knowledgeable, reliable and nice people who do outstanding, quality work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Initial appointment was to get an estimate on refinishing our hardwood and fixing a few (what we thought) small spots. We had 3 estimates from highly rated Angie's List companies and all 3 determined the floor was beyond repair and needed replacement. Mike was not the cheapest but he was competitively priced and his expertise, thoroughness and attention to detail we felt was far superior to the other two companies. At the same time we were having a lot of other work done so we hired Mike thinking all the jobs would fall together nicely and all our projects would be completed together in short order. Unfortunately, it was a disaster getting everything coordinated yet Mike was patient and extremely helpful throughout the process even when other service providers interrupted and delayed the flooring work. We were overwhelmed and frustrated by these other providers but Mike helped us evaluate, select and validate their work all the while making good progress on our floors. Mike has incredible expertise and knowledge in hardwood and general construction and always thoroughly explained all options to us both up front and when we discovered the inevitable "surprises" during the demo process. We felt like we got the full and complete picture of all our options from him which allowed us to make the decision on what's right for our situation as opposed to the sales pitches for a particular proposal that we felt we were getting from the other two companies. Mike's crew is prompt, courteous, trustworthy and clean. We had to move out for a few weeks and so Mike's crew was responsible for our entire house. The whole team was very professional but Daniel and Raul were exceptional. One of the things we heard (and overheard) most often from Mike was "let's make sure it's done right". Mike & Team pay attention to details and don't cut corners. Our floors turned out great - we couldn't be happier. Mike, Daniel and Raul do outstanding work and on top of that are the nicest people. Mike is not only the boss but also a mentor and teacher to his team. Our job threw a lot of curve balls at them and more than once I overheard him helping one of his team come up with solutions in a manner that make him seem more like an devoted teacher than a boss. (A funny side note, my 20 month old daughter developed quite the crush on Mike. She followed him around watching his every move and interrupting our conversations to give him stuffed animals and such. Mike was always patient and kind even though she probably added at least 15 more minutes to his work day at our house.)

"M&M Mike" helped us choose replacement carpeting for our entire house and his team installed it with his supervision. From pricing through installation and final review, he was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and ETHICAL I told him generally what I wanted in our initial phone call and he showed up for our initial meeting prepared with samples that made decision-making easy and stress-free. He reviewed each room, pointed out any issues (creaky floorboards and an open staircase) and explained what would be needed to make it work. The price was fair, scheduling was no problem, and when his team showed up, they were as professional and friendly as Mike was. Installation took two days, and the installers, Ray and Augustine, were neat and worked hard and efficiently. Mike checked in on the project and when it was complete, he did a walk-through with my husband during which no problems were found - not easy with my husband! This company has our highest recommendation. We will definitely call them when we're ready to install wood flooring!

Everything went great. Dan came out at the appointed time to give an estimate. It was what I expected to pay. The coupon added a nice reduction. Carpet was installed. The only problem was that they did not come out with enough carpet. They came out within a couple of hours and finished everything. Very professional. Would use them again.

I called to ask questions about carpet and pricing. The person who answered the phone was abrupt. For me, this is indicative of the kind of customer service provided. I thank him and continued calling other companies. The company I chose was fantastic from first contact to completion of installation.

A contractor repaired the damaged floor in our rental bathroom unit. He hired a company to install linoleum. They did a terrible job! He then hired M&M Flooring. The owner came out with samples, answered all questions and started work. He and his son came out on a weekend and worked very hard and carefully to install a new floor. They did a very nice job and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. It was a pleasant experience dealing with them.

Fantastic. I can't say enough good things about this company! I met with Mike to go over possibilities for both the downstairs room and the entire upstairs. He showed me a few options and discussed possible issues that might arise as far as when the carpets were torn out. The main reason I was replacing all the carpets was because of a spraying cat and the smell of urine I couldn't get out of the carpets. He offered his opinion when I asked him questions, but didn't try to sway me in any direction, even when I asked for his input. The tile I wanted to use upstairs wasn't available for another month, so Daniel came out and did the downstairs room in a day. Then, a few days before the tiles came in, Daniel and his son Zack came over to tear up the carpet and start preparing the floors for the new tile. As soon as they tore up the carpets, it was clear the extent of the damage from the cat was worse than I thought, and also that instead of a plywood subfloor the previous owners had used composite, which was disintegrating. Daniel discussed options with me - again, being very careful to lay out the additional costs, and the pluses and minuses of replacing the subfloor without pushing me in one direction or the other. I decided it was worth the extra cost to replace it, which added a bit to the total in both time and money, but seemed well worth it. Most days it was Daniel and Zack, but towards the end they brought in some additional guys to help out. Without exception they were very sweet, polite, punctual, respectful of the fact that my house was in chaos and that everything I owned was a bit topsy-turvy. They were very careful with all my things - there was one piece of damage to an old TV set that Daniel pointed out to me right away and offered to pay for (which turned out to be unnecesssary, since I was getting rid of it anyway), but there was no day where they left and I found things were broken or damaged in any way. The work took about a week and a half, and I work from home, so it was difficult to have people tearing up the house all day, but they were very gracious and I had absolutely no qualms about leaving them alone in the house when I had to go out for various meetings, errands, whatever. I felt very safe with all of them and felt like my house was in excellent hands. The floors are finished and look amazing. They did an exceptional job, and throughout were pleasant, trustworthy, responsible, and reliable. (Also, just really nice people - a pleasure to know.) As I said, I can't say enough good things about them. In many instances they went above and beyond in terms of small issues they helped me resolve, small jobs that came up along the way that they did without even being asked, and always keeping me in the loop in terms of what was going on, how long things would take, what all my options were, etc. AMAZING. A+ COMPANY. HIRE THEM IF YOU CAN!

Their quote was the highest of all the quotes. They were expensive. They gave me a written quote.

In our home, we needed to replace a total of 2000 sq. feet of flooring that included: old carpeting throughout the second floor, staircase and half of the downstairs (living room) plus old hardwood and parque floors in the kitchen and entry hall areas. Knowing this would be a huge project, I started researching contractors and visiting flooring retailers about 6 months prior to the time we hoped to start the project. After completing our research and meeting with Mike McMillan and Daniel McDonald, we decided to hire their company: M&M Custom Flooring based in Burbank, CA. We decided to hire M&M initially based on their detailed presentation, their professional demeanor and , last but not least, their ability to answer ALL our questions and concerns about the step-by-step process of such an extensive project and what we might realistically expect in terms of the length of the project, the impact on our daily lives (we resided in our home throughout the project) and the expense. M&M is a full service operation from beginning to end and it is interesting to note that the other contractors we spoke to did not provide this assurance. Once the project started, they kept us fully informed on daily progress, any changes that needed to be made as they moved forward and the work schedule overall. I felt completely comfortable with Mike, Daniel and their crew members: Jose, Raul and Zach being in our home due to their efficiency, teamwork, courtesy, flexiibility and punctuality. At the end of each work day, they clean up the work site to the extent that anyone walking by our home would not even know it was a construction site. They also made sure the inside of our home was cleaned up so that we could continue to reside there without any problems. While this kind of project requires a good deal of shifting of furniture and belongings, the way in which they were able to do so was nothing short of unbelievable. I had a very hard time envisioning how we would be able to do such an extensive flooring project in a fully-furnished home, but now I know how it's done and am still amazed. They were also very respectful with regard to the comfort and protection of our pets. We would not hesitate to hire M&M for any other project in the future or recommend them to our friends and family. Our home throughout is not only structurally improved, it is just lovely. The custom detail in the staircase has also added an incredibly beautiful focal point to our living room and entry hall. The entire project took 38 days to complete and we are very happy with the results. That and...thanks for the ice cream!
