Carver's Plastering & Stucco

Terry was straightforward and knowledgable when he came out and gave us a bid. We had 5 or so other stucco specialists out to bid and most either seemed amateurish or frankly scared of the logistical challenges of needing to scaffold up to get to the repair spot. Terry was direct and inspired confidence that he would be able to deliver not only on the repair but a high level of craftsmenship. The job took a few days and Terry built up a two story scaffold by himself and spent a few hot days up there doing the repair. When I discussed the fact that we needed a paint coat over the stucco to make the repair seamless, even though he is not a painter, he went down to the store, found a match and painted over the stucco himself. Other stucco people said that we would have to hire a painter after they took their scaffolding and that we would then have to hire a painter who would set up his own scaffolding. Terry has a real sense of pride about his ownership and it came through in the final product. We were very happy with his work and would not hesitate to recommend Terry to anyone who needs a stucco repair.

Terry was great. I interviewed a number of plasterers before choosing him for the job. His price wasn't the lowest, but he had our trust and confidence. He had two workers with him. The three of them were all very nice and easy to have around during the job. Our new smooth stucco finish is a huge improvement to the exterior of our Spanish-style bungalow.

Terry was amazing in all respects. Terry takes great pride in his work and his final product is even more beautiful than we could have hoped. He was punctual and dependable. He was careful to keep us informed about every development and was responsive to any questions or concerns we had along the way. His helpers were also top-notch. Couldn't ask for more from a contractor.

Terry did a great job patching up all the holes we had from a whole house electrical re-wiring. He got the job done on time and on schedule. We found a couple of outlet holes that he missed but Terry was great about coming back out and taking care of it. We would recommend and use him again.

It went very well. Terry was very knowledgable, punctual, professional and was on site (and actually doing the work) for the entire span of the project. Our home has old plaster/lathe walls that required someone with experience with that type of construciton. His years of experience were very evident because the repaired walls were perfect! He happily came back to do a light touch up with no questions asked. We were very pleased and will definitely call Terry again should we have any additional plaster work.

My neighbor tore down a wood fence between our houses and installed a grey cinder block wall. I found Terry Carver on Angie's List. When I called and left a message on his voice mail he returned my call right away. We set up a time for him to come the next day to look at my front and back yard to take measurements and discuss my options and give me an estimate. After explaining to me that there were a couple of issues with the wall due to shoddy installation Terry gave me a quote to do both the front and back walls and a separate quote if I wanted to do just the front wall. The front wall entailed matching stucco color to a wall on the opposite side of my driveway and the option of also matching the stucco type whether I want to do a smooth coat or sand. He never tried to sell me or pressure me into doing more than I wanted. In fact he and I talked about painting the back wall (which he does not do) or growing some type of vine or ivy to cover it both of which meant he would not make any money but would be a huge savings to me. His concern was to help me find a solution even at his own expense. I chose to stucco just the front wall. Terry was a pro from beginning to end. He arrived on time. Did the work in one day. Even though my car was parked near the wall while he was working he assured me it was fine and that nothing would happen to the car. He was right. He left the area clean and did not get anything on the car. While I was concerned about the drying of the stucco and some small cracks I was seeing come out days later, Terry explained that that can happen sometimes due to humidity but that it's an easy fix. He came back about a week later after it had time to dry completely and put on a second thin coat which dried perfectly and did not charge me for it. Terry is that rare find these days. A true craftsman that takes pride in his work and concerns himself with what's best for his clients. I can't recommend him enough.

He came out to give me an estimate the same day I called, and then did the stucco work around my new electrical panel the next day. Super nice guy who does great work!

From the beginning to the end of the job, Terry of Carver's Plastering was kind, punctual and professional. The job was not especially extensive, but a fair amount of stucco was prematurely peeling off my house after a previous mediocre stucco job by a different company (performed prior to purchasing the home). Terry was able to match the stucco texture perfectly and finish the work in one day as well. He left the job site tidy when he was finished and genuinely cared that I was satisfied with his work. His stucco work has been a pleasure to paint: it stays put, rather than crumbling off like the previous person's inferior job. I would add that as a newer homeowner anxious to learn more, he kindly took extra time to provide me with helpful tips on how to handle the home's upcoming exterior paint job. I highly recommend Terry's work and would happily use his services again. He is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work!

Terry came up and quoted on the job - we have decided to put that particular job on hold for the time being.

We recently purchased a charming home built in 1940. However, in many areas the stucco was in a sorry state. We got three estimates from different plasterers. In regards to price, Terry's was in the middle. We ultimately decided to go with Terry based on his many excellent reviews, and his friendly, professional demeanor. Terry did a fantastic job of improving the appearance of our home. He repaired the unsightly imperfections around the house and masterfully matched the new stucco applied with the pre-existing stucco. He even came back the next day to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work and performed touch up work ! Also, I should mention that Terry is a very nice guy who seems to genuinely care about his clients- a rarity these days.

Terry came out to the property promptly, within 24 hrs of my first call, and provided an estimate for the work requested. He was very responsive, professional, and explained everything in detail. The company fumigating my garage had requested that I remove a wall on my property to accommodate the placement of a fumigation tent and then replace the wall afterward. After Terry inspected the wall he explained that although he was happy to do the work, there were more cost-effective options than breaking down a wall just to rebuild it after the fumigation treatment. I appreciated his candor and advice, even though he knew it would cost him a job. If I need stucco or plaster work in the future, I definitely would call Terry Carver.

Our 1948 house had extensive stucco cracking. We wanted to avoid going the sandblasting route. Although Terry did let us know that sandblasting would be the most effective solution, he also offered us straightforward information on repairing the cracks alone. That choice was the one we made. He gave us a price and a work date and won our admiration by showing up as scheduled on time, with an assistant, and all the tools and supplies necessary. There was no disappearing to handle other jobs. Yay!!! He and his assistant worked with focus and diligence during one those terrible San Fernando Valley July heat waves without complaint. He wasn't cheap, but we did save a bundle by not sandblasting. We painted the house ourselves, so we were totally aware of the soundness of the repairs. He matched the texture quite well, so our new paint job came out great--no shadowy snail trails of repairs. Good work, Terry!

Went very well. Terry understood exctly the finish we were going for and pulled it off perfectly. All the plaster dried extremely hard, is durable, and there have been no problems whatsoever with the quality. this job took a lot of artistry as opposed to just fixing a hole in the wall. When Terry waa high on the scaffolding to plaster the ceilings it was hard not to think of Michaelangelo. Both Terry and his assistant cleaned up the mess well, and took care to protect the floors, etc. I would definitely use Terry again.

I called Terry late in the afternoon and left a message regarding some stucco cracking and blistering on the rear of my house. I really didn?t expect a response until the next day, but he called right back, said he was in the area and could take a look that same day. He checked out my stucco and explained the problem to me. We made an appointment to fix the problem, and 2 days later my house looks great. Showed up on time, professional results, and a nice guy.

Terry came by to give us an estimate, and we liked him right away. Nice guy! And his estimate came in at a very nice price too, so we hired him. Terry replaced and repaired the stucco where we removed a back door and expanded a window. It was chilly outside, but Terry worked on, finished the job and now our back wall looks great! Adept with the stucco, he matched the texture perfectly to our existing wall. If we had attempted to do this job ourselves, it would not have looked nearly as good and would have taken much, much longer to do. We will be happy to use Terry in the future.

Another extremely satisfied customer. Had a water leak into an interior closet. Terry identified the problem, made all the necessary repairs. All work was done quickly and as promised. The exterior stucco work matches perfectly (have a 20's Spanish) and the interior plaster repair blends beautifully. And no more water leak!

Terry did excellent work, was on time, very responsive and professional. We are very happy with the work and even the City building inspector said that the lath was an excellent job. We would definitely use Terry again. Additional information as of January 6, 2013... we had some questions regarding some cracking to the new stucco. Even though this cracking is a normal occurrence, we were concerned, so Terry came back to the house and sealed all the cracks and matched the paint. He went above and beyond the scope of his contract and we will definitely use him in the future.

Terry is a professional applied a very nice smooth stucco surface on a wall and was on time and on budget. He did what needed to be done in order to complete my front landscaping project when the gate fabricator requested a slight modification. If the gate fabricator had communicated with me intially to tell me what needed to be done, Terry would have completed the project without having to return. In the end, the job was a fine finished product and I will be calling Terry back for any other stucco work. I can see why he receives all "A's" on Angies List reviews.
