Atticare Construction

This was a $49 big deal purchase. It was not really an inspection of rodents. They tried to sell me some insulation and all of that. It was pretty much like doing a quote for something else that they did not do. They did respond right away. To improve they could do actually what they said they would do. They said they would put mesh over all areas of rodent entry when they did the new insulation.

These guys were terrific. Even though I had already plugged up the holes, they came out and did a very good inspection, cleaned my attic and didn't try to upsell me anything. I kept their card and will call them should I ever need their services. Really very professional and very honest.

They were professional, courteous, and explained their results concise and understandable manner. They ave us recommendations and an estimate. We are trying to budget to have the insulation improved/replaced, but the work has not been done yet.

Jordi showed up on time and performed the services I contracted for. He inspected my insulation and informed me that it did not need to be replaced. Which was great news. I will use their services in the future.

I haven't had to use the A/C since the new insulation was installed. Miguel managed the installation and was communicative and professional. Gabriel responded promptly to a minor concern I had.

They were on time. There were four people in the crew. They took their time with the preparation.They prepared the path to the attic carefully with protection so there were no dirt or fiberglass anywhere.They were friendly and informative and professional. There wore protective gear. The removal of old insulation and clean up took almost the whole day. They worked hard. Everything was clean afterward.The attic looked very good after they finished. They send me pictures of the attic before and after. Overall the job was well done.

They were prompt, did their work quickly and cleanly, and provided pictures of the completed work. I was pleased with the work and recommend them to others.

Scott came out to do initial inspection and estimate very nice professional and friendly. Crew came out Miguel,Manuel and Edgar-Super-clean very nice completed job in time given. Would hire again. Great crew!

The guy that did the original estimate under estimated the amount of work. The house was built in 1917 and the mouse droppings and insulation could well have been that old. The low pitch roof made it almost impossible to move around in the attic, but the workers that came would not quit until the attic was near perfect. The nails, gravel, oak leaves, acorns, and mouse feces kept plugging the vacuum hose mixed in with the old blown in insulation. After about 6 hours they completed the vacuuming and had removed all the old A/C ducting out. It was nearly 100 degrees out, but they never stopped. Needless to say, by the time they started installing the batting, it was time for them to quit. The company compensated for the inconvenience of needing an extra day by blowing in insulation into all the tight spots that batting wouldn't fit. My only gripe is that they used insulate foam to fill opening to the house (not aesthetically pleasing). I'm not sure if I over payed, but as I watched them work, I kept thinking, "Thank God that's not me up there doing that work". The few places I called to insulate the attic would not do the clean up. They wanted to place new insulation on top of the old.

After a thorough inspection of the attic space Ben showed me pictures of what he found and explained what was recommended for each issue (there was evidence of rodents in multiple places and old soiled worn insulation). There had also been a raccoon in my attic last Fall. On the day of service, Miguel came with a work crew which included himself and 3 other workers. They carefully tapped plastic around the attic entry, protecting my floor and closet from any debris or contamination. At every step of the process Miguel spoke with me and answered any questions I had. He showed me pictures to explain the work needed and the process. Air ducting found on inspection to be disconnected was repaired at no extra charge. After clean out of the attic, there was a careful inspection from both inside the attic and on the roof for any places were rodents could possibly enter - mesh and foam were put in an opened space in a wall between my attic and the attic of my neighbor, repair of torn mesh on roof vents was done for 1 place on my roof and 2 places on my neighbor's roof where a rodent could gain entry to my attic, and mesh was put on the outside of the plumbing caps (on my request even though mesh was already on the inside of the caps). Clean up of where a raccoon had been, which was hard to reach due to the construction of the attic and roof in one spot, was done as much as possible. At the end of the work the entire work area was nicely cleaned up. I found Atticare to have high standards for quality work, worker protection, and customer satisfaction. My attic space is low and becomes even narrower at the edges. It was hard work to crawl to reach all corners and areas of my attic to do a thorough job, which was done. All workers wore protective clothing and gear. It was a hot day and each worker was allowed in the attic for up to 15 min. at a time - I noticed this when they were vacuuming out the debris, yet it may have been for all other processes as well. Both Ben and Miguel were always professional, friendly and polite and went out of their way to make sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed. On completion of the work Miguel helped me climb the ladder to view my clean, newly insulated attic. Ben was always available by phone or text before and after the work and he showed up on the day of work to assure everything was going smoothly. I will also be receiving before and after photos of each phase of the work.

The person who came and inspected said that there was no rodents in the attic however there was evidence of droppings which I know. He acknowledged that and took photos. He did everything he was supposed to do. The only thing is that this company is clearly selling a package which is they wanted to remove the insulation and replace it. What I was given basically started at $7000 but I think it came down a bit. I checked with some people who know a lot about home repairs, we were told that actually the evidence rodent removal or rodent prevention/protection and insulation (removal and installation) are two separate things. The presence of rodents does not require removing the old insulation rather it should be sprayed over or nothing at all as far as the rodents or the lack of bacteria in the attic is an issue. I mean the premise of the bacteria is really not an issue for anything. So they did the real thing but they are selling us very big package. It?s a pretty clear sales approach where the technician called the owner and they made a scenario to make it look like we need the insulation. So we backed away from it because the price is not worth with what needs to be done in order to solve the rodent problem that we have. He also said that he could set the traps that day if that is what we want but it will not solve the problem. I think he was correct that we have to identify the opening which he did by showing us a photograph. Truthfully, we can just call them back to seal off those entry points and set the traps. I could call them for that but I lost confidence in them. The package they were offering actually include finding and sealing off those entry points. So they would have done what needed to be done but in addition it may not work and would be probably more than half of the cost of the things that we didn?t need to do. So we just lost trust in them. They identified the problem but they wanted to suggest something that is more costly. However, the technician was very nice. It was the negotiation and haggling that I was upset with.

It was perfect. Ben was personable, professional and eager to be of service. He found places I didn't. Hopefully this will be the end of our rat invasion. I would recommend Ben and his company to anyone without hesitation.

Atticare is an exceptional company aware of customer satisfaction. Fifty years of accumulated dirt, debris shingles, old insulation, wood, dust and who knows what were removed from my attic. Without a doubt, Scott, his assistant, Austin and their crew are the most conscientious, professional workmen I have used.

Very punctual, polite and efficient. Crew was hardworking non-stop to get the job done.

The experience with Atticare was excellent. Sean provided a thorough review of our attic, and gave recommendations for improvements. We scheduled an appointment for the work and Austin and his team arrived on time, and did what we had agreed upon in a very professional manner. The team left the house as clean as when they entered. These guys are great! I got 6 different bids for this job. Kobie came out and I notice that they were different from the start. He was the only one that actually put on a protective suit and respirator before going up into the attic (if someone doesn't care for their own health, are they really gonna care for the people living in the house who they'll never see again???) To me, this means they're SAFE. He measured the entire attic which happened to be 50-100sq/ft less than anyone else measured. Hmmmm... Since I wasn't up there measuring with them, we're all the other bids adding extra sq/ft. to make more money??? To me, this means they're HONEST. After Kobie was done measuring we sat down at the table and he gave me a presentation with videos and pictures of the equipment they use and the scope of work that would be performed. He thoroughly answered all of my questions and gave me a more than reasonable price based on my previous bids. To me, this means they're HIRED. Long story short, they cam out the NEXT DAY and did everything they told they would. They put plastic down inside the halls to keep the walls and floors as clean as possible. They also took me up in the attic and various stages of the project so I could see for myself the quality of work being performed. Like I said, They're great. A+ work. Thank you!

It took me half the afternoon to get in touch with them. Then I was informed they don’t service my area. It would have been nice if this information was included in the deal description.

I am yet another happy Atticare customer! I initially took advantage of an Angies List special offer for an Attic Inspection with Atticare. Scott came out to do the initial inspection and gave me a price for both the attic and the floorboards underneath my house. I asked him if I could have time to think about it and he said "of course". I appreciated that he didn't apply any pressure to do the job and gave me time to make a decision. Since my home is over 70 years old and I've lived in it for almost 30 years without ever venturing up into the attic, I ended up deciding that now was better then never. I made my appointment for the work and the crew showed up on time. They explained everything to me and helped me up the ladder to see what the attic looked like before, during and after - in addition to showing me photographs they took before, during and after the job. While the guys worked in the attic another crew worked below my home installing insulation to the underneath side of my floor boards. The guys working underneath my house pointed out that I had a small leak under a bathroom sink which I will be fixing immediately. All of the crew was polite and took special care of my home while they were working. It was a great experience from start to finish and now I can sleep soundly knowing my home is very well insulated, the attic has been disinfected and I don't have any rodents, termites or mold above me or below. They underestimated the amount of insulation in our attic, so they ended up spending two days instead of one, but they didn't charge extra for it. After they were done, the attic was very clean.

Austin and his crew did an amazing job cleaning, rodent proofing, sanitizing and insulating the attic . They arrived on time, got started immediately and were very professional. I was shown pictures after the attic clean up and rodent proofing I also went up to the attic to see the results of the new insulation. They did an amazing job cleaning up after themselves.
