I had reviewed Vega Landscape earlier this year when they did work on my front yard. Overall, I thought they did an excellent job and gave them a very good review. Based on that, I re-hired them to do my backyard, including a slope. What a terrible mistake that was. They removed old grass without properly treating for existing weeds. They did not properly check and correct existing irrigation problems even though they were paid to do this. I now have two large areas of terrible looking lawn that is full of weeds. They did the same regarding the slope. That job was done by someone he subcontracted with. I did not give him permission to go outside his regular crew. The entire area was not properly treated for existing weeds before re-planting. I now have to deal with all these problems. I would never hire or recommend Vega Landscaping again.

The front yard turned out so beautiful. Nick is the owner of Vega Landscape and he is hands-on with the project. He is the one that will consult with you on your project and will work within your budget. He has a great eye for design and his team works efficiently and professionally to turn the design into reality. Nick even had them run electrical wiring because he knew we are going to add lighting to the landscape. The plants that he chose are fantastic and he also incorporated other plants that we love into his design. We are very happy with the job Vega Landscape did and we will work with them again when we are ready to renovate our backyard.

Nick Vega came to our home several times to discuss the project and offer options in terms of design and plants. He was always very prompt and professional as was his crew. All of the work was done in a timely fashion and he was on site every day. We especially appreciated his willingness to suggest ways of saving money and avoiding unnecessary costs. I would not hesitate to recommend his services.

They completed the job in the time that they promised. The only problem was that they always showed up later than scheduled, but they still got the job done. When heavy rains caused eroding, they came back out and repaired it and applied a liquid binder to help reduce the erosion. They only charged me for the liquid binder. After aother heavy storm and more severe erosion, I had them install some drains. So far the drains have prevented anymore erosion.

The work went very well. I had asked for quotes from several local hardscape contractors and most didn't even want to work on such a small area. Vega Landscape was responsive from the first call. Nick Vega, the owner, first saw some pictures of my intended area via text message and he promptly quoted me some ballpark figures over the phone for different types of materials (concrete, pavers, etc.). I chose concrete with a top cast finish. Nick then showed up in person and provided me a firm estimate after he inspected and measured the area. Nick's crew poured 4" concrete with rebars that were all less than 20" on center, which is way overkill in terms of strength for an atrium with almost no foot traffic, but nevertheless this extra robustness will make the area a lot less likely to crack in the future. Nick's crew also created a nice pattern out of the expansion joints to make the surface look very professionally done. Finally, the red wood fence that was installed used a postmaster post which is concealed behind the wood panel so the post is not visible from either side. Nick threw in some gravels, gratis, to fill in the gap between the fence and the newly poured concrete (the gap is used for drain). The finished product looks fantastic. It was a very small job in terms of price and complexity, but Nick and his company did not treat it like a small job. I am very satisfied.

Wow! What a fabulous experience! I met with 3 other landscape contractors (and spoke with 2 more on the phone), and none were as professional and service-oriented as Vega Landscape. I got a good feeling when Nick Vega showed up right on schedule for our initial meeting, and they didn’t let me down. To kick the project off, Nick created a beautiful design that met my goals of being attractive, drought-friendly and easy-to-maintain. The project started on schedule, and was completely finished—from tear-down to stunning end result—in just 5 business days! To get the job done so quickly Vega Landscape brought out a fairly large crew of people who obviously knew what they were doing and seemed to work very well together as a team. There was always someone here who spoke English, to answer any questions I might have. When a minor problem cropped up, Nick immediately came up with a great solution to resolve it. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. And now I’m already getting compliments from the neighbors on how beautiful my new landscaping looks. Definitely an A+! Nick and his crew were fantastic. There was a 30 ft wall that was falling due to some royal palm trees having over grown. Nick's crew demolished the wall, rebuilt it, and added new stucco to match existing walls. We also had Vega Landscape add a complete 5 zone sprinkler and irrigation system with a smart home controller. We are very happy with the work. Nick has been great from the very first meeting. All in all it's an A+!

The project was very big. It was still completed in the time frame that Nick indicated. While Nick can be a little tardy for appointments at times and may forget some details, he is very trustworthy and honest. He showed up at the job almost every day to check on things. His crew of 4 to 6 men all came in 1 or 2 company trucks which thankfully reduced the number of parked vehicles in front of my house. They were neat, polite, and did great work. Nick designed the whole project and I am so pleased with the results. I am blown away with how beautiful it came out. He warrantied everything which I found from interviewing 8 other contractors is not always the case.

Nick Vega reviewed our design concept and added valuable advice based on his experience. VegaLandscape exceeded our expectations. We think the completed project looks wonderful. VegaLandscape crew began work as promised, worked from 8:30AM-5:00PM each day, were skilled and diligent workers and left the job site cleaned up. Thank You VegaLandscape.

We had hired Nick for a previous job the year before and were quite satisfied. So we wanted to hire him again to remove sod and install artificial turf. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Nick never showed or called. I called 2 times and still haven't heard from him many months later. He did the same thing to our neighbor after we recommended him to them. Poor customer service and doesn't care about other people's time. Would never hire again or recommend!

I hired Vega lanscape, originally, to put in a drainage syatem in my backyard. They did a great job, and I wrote a positive review. I felt very comfortable hiring them to do the bi-monthly service on my yard. Mr. Vega promised that he would make monthly visits with his crew to be sure that everthing was done correctly and look for any problems that needed attention. In the 8 months that his crew has come to the house, he has never come by. Requests via phone and email have gone unanswered. Fo example, I made 3 requests that my bougainvillia (that was encroaching on my roof) be trimmed back, in the first month I hired him. The bougainvillia is now halfway up my roof and is the home to several families of rats. I had many other projects that i was hoping to give to Vega landscaping, but due to their poor service, I have fired them instead.

It went well. He was on time, courteous, and professional.

Everything went perfect! From beginning to end. Nick was a pleasure to work with, went above and beyond you can tell he takes great pride in his work. He was always one step ahead of me, he addressed all my questions and had answers for me right away. I felt maybe I should have backed away a little because they definitely know what they were doing. I have not one bad thing to say. Competitive pricing as well. My front yard looks beautiful! Wish I was able to post pictures. Would definitely recommend.

Nick and his team did a great job. The team showed up on time and completed the work as promised. I had an area near the pool that was just dirt and weeds so Nick came up with a plan that helped me stay within budget and still make the area look good. The only hiccup we had was in getting the estimate where dates got mixed up. But Nick worked with me to find a time where he could come out to quote the job.

Nick's team did a great job. They showed up as promised and quickly completed the work, leaving the yard very clean and orderly. They all were very friendly and polite, and Nick followed up with me to be sure that I understood the system. I was very impressed and hired him as my permanent gardener and will use him for all of my landscape needs. I would definitely recommend him.

This guy has zero respect for others' time. I called and spoke with Nick on Friday Dec 11. We agreed to meet at my house to go over potential work on my property on Monday Dec 14. My husband left work early in order to meet this guy and go over the scope of the job. Nick never showed and never called. Basically just took money right out of my pocket when he could have easily called, texted or emailed to say he would not make it. No problem; you don't want to work, no problem but don't cause other to have to rearrange their schedules and lose money because you're too much of a baby to decline work.

I called and made an appointment for an estimate. My husband took time off work to make sure to be here during the estimate. Not only did they not show up at all, but they would not answer their phone. I called and left repeated messages, but received no return phone call.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. NICK AND HIS CREW WERE ALWAYS VERY KIND & CONSIDERATE ALONG WITH BEING VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE

He came in an unmarked truck and never presented me with a business card. I think that is two things that should be done. He did show up between eight and nine. I was confused and we have had a lot of break ins up here. I would have felt better if he had come in an marked truck or presented me with a business card. I would have felt better about that, but it doesn't mean that I won't call them back. He said that he will put it together. He didn't have a notebook or take measurements. It wasn't quite what I expected. He was kind and I don't think he very professional. He was very responsive, he said he would be here the next day and he was. He was on time.

We are looking to create a more water-friendly landscape, and made an appointment with Mr. Vega to come to our house to discuss ideas and give us a quote. He never returned my multiple phone calls with a call, but did eventually reply with a text that said: "This is Nick Vega I can stop by next week Tuesday thru Friday send address and preferred time." I replied 30 minutes later with a day and time, and he again never replied. The day before I had asked him to come I sent him another text message saying "Hi Nick, I'd like to confirm if you are able to come tomorrow at 4pm?" And he replied "yes." My husband took time off of work to be here at 4pm, but Nick did not arrive until after 5pm. I understand that delays happen, but he did not bother to call or text to let us know he was running late. When he arrived my husband was understandably annoyed, as he had taken time off of work for this appointment, and Mr. Vega replied by telling us that his field of work is unpredictable and he never committed to arriving on time. We received several quotes/ideas on our yard plan, and in the end I pushed my husband to give Mr. Vega our business, because he was the only one who didn't suggest ripping out tons of landscaping and re-doing a lot of what we already have. My husband didn't want to go with someone who appeared to be unreliable, but I assured him that Mr. Vega had good reviews on Angie's List and so he finally agreed. On July 11th I both called and texted Mr. Vega, telling him that we would like to hire him to develop our landscape plan, and then begin implementing the changes. He never bothered to reply. I suppose I could have continued to hassle him, like I did the first time, but at this point I had to agree with my husband that if we are going to be spending $10k, to redo our landscape we need to go with someone who is more reliable and professional. Others may have had better luck, but it appears to me that Mr. Vega is currently either overwhelmed or simply unable to manage his business, and I would not recommend him.

The new landscape and waterfall are beautiful. The problem lies with the quality of the weekly service, responsiveness to inquiries and problems. The weekly service is mediocre at best and definitely not worth $85.00/month (my backyard is synthetic turf) When I had a problem with my waterfall pump it took 5 e mails for a response and when I did get one it wasn't very pleasant. I've sent 6 e mails regarding a leaking sprinkler head. On the fourth request I was guaranteed my sprinkler would be fixed the following week. It wasn't and there was no feed back until I took the initiative to contact them again. I'm told it's leaky valve and it's $95.00 for parts and labor. I just got disgusted with the back and forth and lack of follow up I fired them today.

As stated in "What did the provider do", completely redesigned front yard and driveway, then completed all phases of it on time, with a great crew, and a beautiful finished landscape. Nick personally answers his phone and addresses questions promptly. Definitely someone who I would recommend or use again.

We contacted Nick via Angie's List. His first response was fairly quickly - by a phone call. We set up an appointment with him and asked him to come and to give us an estimate. However, the problem was that he did not show up and, even worse to it, he did not even notify us with his problem. We called him - no answer and then we text him - then we got response. His reason for no show was that his son had an accident (hand was burned by hot iron). It was understandable but we thought, at least, he could let us know beforehand rather than waited until we contacted him. Another problem we had was - immediately after we learned this incident, that we tried to contact him for setting up with another appointment. Unfortunately, we have never heard from him since then - a big disappointment.
