Nick Of Time Handyman Service

Nick was tied up so he sent an associate that was also named Nick. The hose bibs for the washer were bad. He turned off the water, removed the bad hot and cold hose bibs. He replaced the parts ( hose bibs) and installed new hot and cold water Hoses. Nick had a nice personality, easy to talk to and knew what he was doing. We would recommend them and will differently use them again.

The guy is totally responsive, by phone or email (many contractors won't comminicate by email which is infuriating). The work has been done well and on time. We have tacked on a number of projects we didn't originally intend on having him do simply because we were happy with his punctuality, crew, and workmanship. Project is not over, but we are making very good progress. Stay tuned...

Nick was very professional from the initial phone call. He showed up for estimate when he said he would and he was on time. His estimate was fair. We hired Nick and he completed the work which exceeded our expectations. There were many jobs which he performed which included: painting, carpentry, tile floor installation, wall patches, installation of a new toilet. All jobs were done very well. Being somewhat of a perfectionist, I was very pleased with all work done. I will definitely call Nick again for future repairs.

Nick came out the same day we called and fixed our leak with no problem. He was very friendly, on time, gave us a quote he stuck by and did the work in an effective and timely fashion. His quote beat out several local plumbers by more than $250.00! We will definitely be using him again in the future. I would recommend Nick In Time without hesitation.

I spoke with Nick on the telephone Monday afternoon and described the job. As promised, he called back a couple hours later to offer an estimate and schedule the appointment. Nick was able to come out the very next day. He and his employee arrived promptly at the scheduled time. First, Nick and his employee installed the 3 ceiling fans. He replaced the plastic outlet boxes with metal ones to properly secure the fans. Next, they installed the ceiling fans. After making sure the fans worked, they changed the light switches. Lastly, they carefully mounted a large mirror in my living room. Both Nick and his employee were professional, friendly, and personable while working. When the job was complete, Nick cleaned up and he made sure I was satisfied with his work.

Nick was extremely responsive when I called to set up an appointment for an estimate. He was easily reachable via phone, text or e-mail, which made communication very easy. He provided an estimate for work on our kitchen and bathrooms by the next day. We were working with Ikea for cabinet and counter installation; Nick gave us an estimate for the tile & appliance installation. His estimates were a little higher than two of the others we had received, and lower than one. But he is licensed, seemed professional & knowledgeable, and easy to communicate with. We scheduled a date, but had to reschedule since we had delays with the Ikea portion of the work. Rescheduling was not a problem, which was helpful. We hit an unexpected glitch before he was scheduled to come in, and needed him to come in to modify the piping for the gas range; he was able to save time by providing an estimate based on photos that I had e-mailed, and he was able to make the modification so that we did not have to reschedule our countertop installation. He worked on and off over the course of 9 days. His total labor was around $2200, and there was a cost for parts that he purchased from Home Depot. Most of the work was straight forward, but he really had to think about the best way to install the hood since it was rather big, we had a small space, and he needed a certain amount of clearance to still ensure that City codes were adhered to. We discussed several options, and he was able to complete the job successfully. There was also some discussion on the installation details of the built-in dishwasher, but that was easily solved. We will be working with him again to work on our bathroom remodel, and I would recommend him highly. Some of the things that I think he could improve on are as follows: He could work a little neater; I had to cleanup some grout for the sink which could have been avoided if his helper had rinsed it off immediately. Also, the boxes and wrappers were a huge mess and could have been easier to clean up if they had been piled up in one corner, perhaps in a larger box; I am rather neurotic about details, and for the parts he purchased (~$200), I was not able to figure out what the parts were used for. Next time, I will ask that he write a note on each receipt so that I am able to keep track of expenses for each item. All in all nothing major. We have been using our kitchen for a few weeks now, and everything seems to be working. If there are problems with the installation, I hope that he will stand by his work and pop in to fix it.

It went well. He answered my calls quickly, came out and gave me an estimate, showed up on time and did the work. We livve onm emile from a Home Depot so if he needed parts, it was done quickly. He honored the coupon he has on Angie's List and did the work well and fast..

Emailed Nick, explained the job, got no response.

It was professional, convenient, and cordial. Called Nick in the morning for last minute demolition work, and was able to have workers there by early afternoon. It was pretty basic work, so not a lot to judge skill wise but they were efficient and mostly kept the place clean. They were not on the lower end of pricing, but you get what you pay for. Nick helped me out in a pinch. We would hire him again for sure.

He was professional. He responded on time. He cleaned up after himself. He was good. The pricing was definitely towards the higher end. Even though he was higher priced, I thought he was worth it because I felt like he would get the job done.

I was really happy with him, and the price. He wasn't able to make the scheduled day due to another plumbing emergency and he didn't call to tell me. I had to call him, but other than that it was a good experience.

Nick came out on two separate days to complete the job was always on time and very professional. He did a great job on everything he did and cleaned up after him and his crew. I would definately use him again.

contractor never called me back. I had to call him and was told he was on "hiatus" for a week, said I would get a quote in a few days, but that never happened.

Very well. Courteous & accommodating, a very nice young man. Very much in demand and that would be my only complaint: too many phone calls coming in during the two hours or so he was here.

I will use Nick again when the occasion arises and recommend him to my friends.

Overall my experience was fantastic. I didn't have to lift a finger. They were very efficient and fast. Both of my residences have stairs, and it was no problem for them. Nick went above and beyond and even put together a new bookshelf I bought from Ikea. This isn't the first time I've used this handyman service, and I wouldn't think to call anyone else for any job I need done around the house.

I thought they did a great job and they found live terminites before they did damage to my house. I called our terminite service company right away. He was also attacked by a wasp! Fixing my house turned out to a dangerous job but Nick is brave! He also explained everything to me in detail so I understood what he was going to do and what the result would be including the posssible problems. This alone would be a reason to hire him again and He does very good work.

Once again, Nick D. did a terrific job troubleshooting a problem we have had with a leaky roof. The rainy weather in November highlighted a problem we have had with a drainage pipe that drained water off our flat-roofed house. There was no way we could do a roof repair with the wet weather so he (along with the help of my husband) devised a system for syphoning off the water until we will be able to fix the roof. Nick went into the attic and took photos and video of where the water was coming in. We are now in the process of continuing to repair from the inside of our home and Nick is continuing to work out creative, efficient, and cost-effective ways to sove the problem. While Nick was in our attic he also noted that there were bare electrical wires from very old construction that were still LIVE and could electrocute someone (our house was built in 1926). He has recommended an electrician who we are very pleased with. I highly recommend Nick if you want a handyman you can trust for a job done well. Nick responded IMMEDIATELY when we called him about the problem.

Nick came promptly to give quote on items requested. He was able to complete the work that I had ready for him within the week. Nick also came a seperate time to look at my stove to try and determine what the problem was with the heating and didn't charge for the visit. I have many more things on my list for Nick to do and will be calling him back because he was very professional, clean and thoughtful. I would recommend Nick to anyone...he listens well, is timely and performs the work very well. He gets an A+ but Angie's List doesn't provide an A+ box :)

We are renovating a small 1927 kitchen. When the original cabinets were removed much of the plaster ceiling fell down. Originally we thought we could save most of the plaster walls, but the electrician and plumber wanted the walls open (easier for them), so Nick removed three plaster walls and tried to save as much of the fourth wall as possible. This helped us save some time and money. Nick also added insulation to the three walls that were open, before drywall went up, and this has really helped keep the room warm. He also removed old stove vent and installed a new vent that will be ready for the over-the-range micro. Nick is very reliable, courteous, and cares about the quality of his work. When he is not available to do the job himself, he makes sure that one of his workers comes out as promised. When some small mistakes were made, Nick immediately corrected them. We are still completing some of the jobs to get the kitchen ready for install, but so far Nick has really helped move the project along.

came on time or called if running late did work and cleaned up generally pleasant and not overly talkative -thank goodness-just got the work done i thought a little pricey on the timer installs -$20 each (volume discount would have been nice and they took only about 10 min), but other than that prices seemed fairly reasonable

Didn't call to say he was late, waitied another hour and he still hadn't called we canceled.
