Description of Work: Jay came out to build the extensive remodel of our kitchen cabinets, counters and pantry - a job that will end up being $40k. Jay is old school, thoughtful and responsive. He might not be using the latest and greatest computer software, but I could tell that he was a craftsman who wanted the job done well. I was inclined to work with him. In the end I did not go with him because he was not able to manufacture a particular style of cabinet-framing that I wanted. Admittedly, it's a look that's not in style right now, so it's no strike against him. I think he's definitely worth your consideration.

+ -1 moreJay was great - he was very responsive to our questions and returned estimates back to us very quickly. He gave us a tour of his shop, which helped us in our decision making process. He was by far and away the lowest estimate we got. However, we went with a different cabinet maker that uses cabinet software to make drawings and feed that information to the shop machines. Jay's operation isn't as high tech, so he would have had trouble creating the frameless cabinets we wanted. He even told us that he does mostly "framed" cabinets, which we didn't like.
Description of Work: Jay gave us several estimates for a kitchen remodel.

+ -1 moreThe work was completed on time at the price agreed upon. We added to the job part way through and received an estimate for the extra work. Even with the extra work, the job was completed on time and on budget. The cabinets are absolutely beautiful and there are some features that we didn't even expect. The price was very fair compared to other estimates and the only surprises were pleasant. They did what they said they would do and kept to the schedule. We were very happy.
Description of Work: Complete replacement of kitchen and bathroom cabinets, built-in entertainment units, closet update.
