I used this company 7 years ago when I had the house painted, and had a good experience, so I called them again this time. I had several bids, which ranged anywhere from $5,500 to $7,000 to paint my 1600 sq ft single storey house and separate detached garage. Mike charged me $3,000 when he did the work 7 years ago, and I was suprised to find that his prices haven't gone up since then - it is definitely a bargain price. If you are looking for A+ quality work, this is not the painter for you. If you want someone who will put a nice, thick coat of paint on the house, show up on time every day, get the work done in the time promised, and give you good value for your dollar, then Mike is your guy. Yes, I can walk around the house and see places where a line isn't perfectly straight, or a nail was painted over instead of pulled and puttied, but those are things I can fix myself, and given that he charged less than half what some people quoted I'm just not worried about it. I have hundreds of plants in pots that all had to be moved before the job could be started. Mike's crew took care of it and didn't break anything. The cleanup once the job was done was so-so, but in fairness a lot of that is because I told them I would put most of the plants back myself, since I wanted to rearrange things. They did put all the big stuff back. So: I would recommend Mike to anyone who wants to paint their house on a budget. My experience was that he's dependable, puncutual, and does what he says he will do.

Mr. Han and his crew of 4 showed up on time and worked the entire day for each phase. He moved and covered the large furniture with plastic sheeting and did a credible job of removing the wallpaper but as mentioned above we were not impressed with his drywall repair and texturizing results. Phase 2 was very mediocre. Although he did prime and paint the baseboards, casings and doors, he did not properly putty the nail and brad holes on the new mouldings and did not sand them even after we pointed it out to him. It was the same for the new doors: he did not sand the sides that had been trimmed even after the primer raised the grain in the wood. He removed most, but not all, of the door and wall hardware which most painters routinely do. He did a sloppy job of putting them back on (e.g. putting drawer knobs back on when the paint was still wet). He did not spot texturize other areas that clearly needed to be done. He did not uniformily prime the stair ballisters which is visably noticable and then painted them with a close, but not identical color metal paint. (The identical color for metal was available from the manufacturer of the wall paint, but he chose to use a different generic brand.) He painted one wall the wrong color and then was reluctant to repaint it the correct color saying it looked fine the way he did it. (Ultimately he did repaint it the correct color.) When shown areas that were clearly sub-par, he said he thought it came out fine but he would re-do it for an additional fee. We were very unhappy with the quality of his work and rather than get into a prolonged disagreement, we paid for the work performed to be done with it.
Description of Work: Contract was for work to be performed in two phases approximately 6 weeks apart. Phase 1 ($1,350): Contracted to remove wall paper and retexturize walls. Phase 2 ($3,150) contracted to: repair drywall from electrical upgrades and from routine wear-and-tear; prepare surface to new baseboards, new window and door casings and new interior doors (putty, sand and prime); and, paint interior (including stair ballisters and ceilings) of a two story 2,400 sq ft house. Work performed: The scope of services was decreased to delete repair of drywall due to electrical upgrades, to delete retexturizing walls that were previously wallpapered and to delete painting the ceilings. We deleted these tasks because we were not happy with the quality of the work he had done in these areas in Phase 1 and we added these tasks to the contractor who scrapped off our acoustical popcorn ceiling. Mr Han did not reduce the the overall contract price for these deductive change orders.
