Very well. Recommended to me by friends who had had him do seismic bracing. I had him do the seismic retrofit of this house in 2005. He did a really good job, as evidenced by multiple contractors who saw the work and commented on how well it was done. My neighbors had also had him do seismic bracing on two houses, as well as other miscellaneous work on their house. His price was right in line with the one other contractor who would agree to do this door (and this one was all-inclusive of materials). The other contracts estimate was somewhat open-ended, depending on what he found in the tear-out. Mr. Johnson is incredibly meticulous in his attention to details, particularly around structural integrity and prevention of future leaks. I think that if there is a leak in that door again it cannot be prevented. He is also unusually easy to work with. This job went so well we had him do another job and are planning on a third. I will file separate reports for them.

I had had Mr. Johnson install a new rear door in an area that had significant rot and he did a wonderful job. He has also done a seismic retrofit for me in 2005, with excellent results. After having several fence companies look at building a fence and several gates for me (and finding that I could not afford their services) I asked this contractor for his suggestions. He was creative in finding solutions to separating my dogs from my garden when my baby is playing out there and keeping my baby from falling down the steps to my 3 decks. Rather than swinging gates, he built panels that could slide into rails installed at the bottom and top of each set of stairs, so that I could use one panel for either the top or the bottom and move them as needed. This has made my life so much easier. I have the additional living space of the decks without worrying about the baby falling down the stairs and in the garden he can run around without being knocked down by dogs.
