Walt's Quality Painting

Walt was the ultimate professional. He came out and met with me to see exactly what I wanted painted, listed all of my color choices, and suggested that I do two coats on all walls. My house is brand new and had just the basic off-white paint on the walls. He gave me an estimate of the cost and advised me when he could start. He was punctual every single day and very precise in his prep work and painting techniques. He told me that he should be able to complete my job in 6 days and he did exactly that. He even did a faux wall in my dining room and kitchen area because the leaf application that I had first selected could not really be used on my textured wall. I couldn't be happier with the job he did. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a professional painter who takes pride in his work.

It went very well and the price was fair. They were very nice and easy to deal with. They were very cooperative; when we needed the garage...we could have it. When we needed something they would get out of their way.

Walt answered our initial call in a timely manner, and that set the tone for all subsequent contact. His proposal was reasonable and all work was performed well and on time. We would not hesitate to contact him for further work.

My wife and I were very fortunate to have found this gentleman to paint our home. We spoke with a couple of other painters to get price estimates, and Walt was very competitive. However, what sold us more than anything, was Walt's professionalism and friendliness. We immediately felt very comfortable talking with him and he put us at ease on the phone and while meeting with him in person. He returned calls quickly and was very polite during the entire time that he worked with us. Walt is clearly an outstanding craftsman. He takes pride in his work and he really knows what he is doing. Even though my wife and I had been looking at different color combinations for several months, Walt helped guide us to an outstanding color and I am absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out. Lines are clean and straight all around the home, and there are no drips, streaks or bleed-through anywhere on the home. We waited too long before painting the home and so we had fairly extensive damage to the moldings and trim around our windows and doors. But Walt did an excellent job resealing everything, and was able to restore the woodwork so that it nearly looks new. On second thought, our house actually looks better than new now with this new color combination! Walt did all of the work on his own, but he worked very quickly and efficiently. He would show up each morning before 8:00 and worked all day with few breaks, and we hardly knew he was there. He was so unobtrusive, that even our dogs didn't seem to mind that he was in our yard. I'm really glad that Walt was able to fit us in before the rainy season begins this year. I wouldn't hesitate to refer him, and we would work with him again in a heartbeat.

They did an excellent job. He was prompt. He worked very efficiently. He was very neat. The paint job was excellent. He got done a little ahead of time. He cleaned up well.

Walt did an excellent job, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, experienced painter. He was easy to communicate with; quick to respond via email and phone, honest, and straight forward. His consultation was detailed, and I felt he set realistic expectations regarding the process and timing of the project. He also guarantees his work, as he did it all himself. He arrived every morning precisely at the arranged time, and was always pleasant and professional. I especially appreciated that he let me know where he was in the process on a daily basis, and how it might effect his time line. He completed our project right on schedule, and with beautiful results. I couldn't be happier with my lovely new kitchen! Walt even mixed me a custom color for my island, when I wasn't thrilled with my original choice. He is an expert in his field, and worth every cent. His years of experience, ability, attention to detail, and knowledge of products and their performance is priceless. If you are looking to have your home painted, this is the guy you want.

Walt showed up on time every day, got right to work, cleaned up well after the project each day, kept me apprised of how things were progressing, and finished the project when he said he would. He was very respectful of us and our home. He communicated well throughout the process and was responsive to our questions. His work was excellent! We will hire him again for other projects we have!

I'll be happy to write all the details whenever this job is "done". Walt really left me in a bad position, walking off after cursing me and my house.

Walt was very professional and reliable from the first contact. We hired him to refinish and stain our cabinets. He came to our house on time, every time. He was pleasant to have in our home. He cleans up spectacularly, which is really nice, particularly since we have a toddler; he doesn't leave dust or debris. He was also mindful to not disturb our neighbors. Though he showed up at 6:00 am every day, he reserved "noisy" work for later in the morning so he wouldn't disrupt our neighbors. The project had some glitches. After walt stripped the cabinets and started applying the color we wanted, he realized that the wood was somewhat damaged, and the color was coming out blotchy and unattractive. Walt was genuinely concerned about the final appearance and talked to us about our options. He had paint custom matched to the color we had wanted, again stripped the cabinets, and then painted them. He didn't charge us any extra for this work. What is impressive about Walt is that he wants you to be happy with his final product, and he takes pride in his excellent (and well-deserved) reputation. The problems refinishing were clearly not his fault. Still, he promised us a beautiful kitchen and was committed to giving us that, even though he had to spend 3 additional days working at our home. We'll definitely have him in our home again.

The final paint looks superb because of all his preparation. * He was very careful draping plastic, so the rest of the house stayed clean despite the fact the banister is adjacent to the living room, dining room, hall, kitchen and breakfast area. * He scheduled us 3 weeks in advance and stayed 100% on schedule. He arrived when he said he would, the job took as many days as he thought, and he came every day on time and worked long and hard. * The final results exceeded our expectations! We would absolutely hire Walt again. I can't imagine finding another painter as detail oriented and professional as he is!

He takes pride in his work, completely knows what he is doing, and it shows.The refinished cabinets exceed our expectations. * He did exactly what he said he would do. The project was completed on time, on budget, without changes. * He is a pleasure to have in the house. He was professional, worked in a way to minimize disruption in the house and to the family. He was very conscientious about making sure that his work didn't impact anything else. * Walt was completely professional. I'm a neat freak, and when I went to clean up after he had cleaned up there was nothing for me to do. He left the areas where he worked spotless. He cleaned up at the end of every day, took down plastic, etc., so our house returned to normal each night. We have already booked Walt for our next painting job. He's that good!

We found Walt here on Angie's list seeing that he has all great reviews. From the start, Walt seemed to us very trustworthy and knew what he was doing. We wanted our kitchen cabinets painted white with a nice smooth finish. During the free estimate, Walt presented us with paint choices and we were able to find one that matched closely with our white doors. He gave us a thorough overview of what he planned to do and walked us through the whole process. What he described was what he delivered. It took around 6 and a half day for the job to finish. Walt was on time every day. He prepped our kitchen thoroughly each day draping plastic sheets and/or clothes over our countertops and other things. He cleaned up his work in our kitchen at the end of each day so that we can continue to use it when he left for the night. The end product turned out great! The cabinet surfaces are smooth and the edges are super straight and clean! He even touched up some of our mistakes on the walls around the cabinets! He restored all the child proofing locks on our cabinets, and added extra padding to the cabinet doors. We couldn't be happier with the results! We plan to have him back to install cabinets hardware once we've chosen our set.

Work was completed as committed to in the estimate - Very professional service. Walt was always on time and kept us informed as to which rooms would be painted each day.

Walt was very professional, punctual, and most importantly detail oriented. He gave updates as he was going along and descriptions of his process to help me better understand why he was ding what he was doing. My house went from a dated, lived in look to a warm inviting home. I'm so pleased with the quality of work and would recommend Walt to everyone. In fact I did recommend him to my sister who hired him to do her walls and baseboards.

The first meeting that we had with Walt was to go over our paint chooses. We choose fairly dark colors so he made sure we were aware of how the colors would fade in areas that get heavy sun exposure. Walt explained the whole process from start to finish and thoroughly answered all our questions. Walt was always on time and so quiet and undemanding that we would forget he was working. I love the way he painted our house in sections. We were immediately able to see what the colors looked like on the house. There were only a few windows taped up each day so I didn't feel like my house was closed up for a week straight. His work area was always neat and everything was cleaned and put away each night. He was easy to talk to, always smiling, and he had a great attitude. We're extremely happy with the finished paint job. We would definitely contract with Walt again and I am recommending him to all my friends and neighbors.

He was excellent. He paid lots of attention to detail. We have a very small house that is one level. He did lots of good quality work. He was wonderful. He was always on time and did what he said he was going to do. He did an excellent job. I would use him again.

He did a beautiful and professional job. He did this in two sessions allowing me to move my furniture and possessions into the empty rooms while he finished up one area before starting the next. He was helpful, trustworthy and always punctual. He completed the work in the time frames that he estimated. He was extremely careful with my possessions and took extra care to perform special finishing touches that completed the job.

We agreed on a price and set a date to start the job. Walt showed up when he said started the job we ask if he would also paint the trim in the hall bath ( not on the original bid ) he said no problem. the next day we changed our mind about the color of the kitchen,Walt said that would be an extra fee,witch turned out to be quite modest. Walt did his work in a workman like manner always cleaning up after himself and never a mess for us to deal with when he left for the day. He did the job as he said he would do it and in the time he said it would take,even with the extras.

From our first in home consultation he was professional and gave us good service. He set a date for the service, performed the service in a timely manner and our cabinets look beautiful. He also did the work in such a way that there was very little disruption to anything we were currently doing. He was also extremely clean. We would definitely use him again for our painting and refinishing needs. We especially appreciated the fact that you could tell that he had years of excellent experience.

We contacted Walt and he completely refinshed our cabinets back to, probably, a much more beautiful state than rhe original. He did this over a period of 5 days, always keeping us informed as to what he was doing and what would be done next. All the time, our house was kept free of dust, dirt, debris and smell even when he "cocooned" the kitchen to apply the coats of final finish. All the time he was doing this, he also took home a chair which had belonged to my wife when she was a very little girl and which had been stripped of paint and need to be put bacj together and repainted to it's original shape. This he did at his home after hours. I would not hesitate to have Walt do any job in our home, He is a wonderful craftsman.

Walt did an EXCELLENT job!!! I am a single woman and know next to nothing about home repairs and maintenance and I feel that in the past I have been at the mercy of some contractors. Therefore, when I contracted with Walt's Quality Painting I was hoping for the best but quite honestly expecting the worst. I needed to get my house painted and once again I felt vulnerable dealing with a trademan. Happily, however, what I received was even more than I hoped for. This tradesman absolutely exceeded every expectation I had and then some. Walt Christen proved he is a an old time craftsman who still takes pride in his work and he adheres to the principal that a satisfied customer is the best advertising. Without reservation I'm pleased to recommend Walt's Quality Painting to anyone wanting their house painted, either inside or out. Walt not only did an excellent job painting and sealing and caulking my house, but he took extra care to be prompt and clean. He showed up at the appointed time, the job did not take longer than the time he promised, and when he was done, I never found so much as a stray drop of paint!!! (and believe me, I looked!) Since having the paint job done, I've compared Walt's work to other to the work on other houses in the neighborhood that were painted by a local, non-licensed painter who charges a few bucks less. Had I gone with this painter, I would definitely have been disappointed as I'm sure these homeowners are (or will be when time takes its toll). I can still see cracks at the eaves and foundation that were left unfilled and painted, cracks in the stucco that were not repaired, paint spills and overpainting on the windows. In some cases, some of the homes were not even powerwashed before painting. No so with my job!!!! Walt powerwashed my stucco, sealed and caulked the eaves and foundation, made repairs to the stucco and put extra sealer on the trim to help guard against sun damage. Walt took extra care to seal what I thought were holes in my foundation because I thought they might possibly let those little lizard thingees into my house. They weren't really holes but Walt made me happy by doing it anyway. To go a step further, Walt even graciously power washed my patio and patio furniture and sidewalk which he did not have to do, again just to help me and compliment the job he had already done on my house. Thanks to Walt's conscientious work, I feel like I have a brand new house, and I feel comfortable knowing that it is sealed and protected from harsh Brentwood summers. If you need painting done, please don't hesitate to give this painter your business. He's licensed and bonded and he delivers what he promises. Pretty rare in this day and age! You just can't ask for more than that. I'd use the services of Walt's Quality Painting again in a heartbeat. When I need the inside painted, he'll be the guy I call.

He was very thorough when explaining the process step by step. He set up a schedule and stuck to it. He frequently checked in with us to ensure we were happy with the progression of the job and wanted to make sure all our concerns were addressed. From picking out colors to working around our vacation schedule, Walt was very professional and easy to work with. Our home looks great. The color combination Walt help us pick out is fantastic. We plan on having the interior painted later in the year and there's no one else we would consider for the job.
