Walt's Quality Painting

Walt did an amazing job! I was not 100% sure of the colors I wanted, but Walt took the time to look over the house with me and show me different options. He obviously had a great amount of knowledge and experience. He was patient with my questions and extremely professional. My house is 60+ years old and was in desperate need of a make over. Since Walt painted it, my house looks 30 years younger! I had ordered new exterior shutters, and Walt returned just to paint and install them. I would like to hire Walt again to paint the interior, and highly recommend him for any painting work needed.

Walt was wonderful to work with. He does a spectacular job, with great attention to detail. The price matches the quality, so be forewarned. =) The job was to paint all the interior walls in a 4br, 2ba, 1930 sq ft house. The job did not include trim, or ceilings. Some rooms have vaulted ceilings. The house was unoccupied and unfurnished at the time. Walt originally expected the job to take 8-10 business days, but was able to complete in about 5. Overall, I am extremely happy with the work, and I'll happily work with him again to paint the exterior, and the trim/ceilings at some point.

Walt did a fantastic job! He sanded, primed and painted my kitchen wood cabinets. They turned out beautiful. I got quotes from 3 different contractors and Walt's was the most competitive. I would highly recommend Walt for any painting project. I know of at least 2 other neighbors who have also used Walt and they were also very satisfied with his work.

Great job done by Walt. Two coats of paint were applied and house was prepped by power washing and sanding of surfaces. No mistakes of misapplied paint dabs here or there as I have seen on other house paint jobs on other properties. Thanks, Walt.

Excellent. Walt is a true professional. He asks questions and summarizes to ensure understanding. His contracts are specific; much appreciated. Walt's work is high quality. At the end of his work day, each room was returned to usable condition; I was not inconvenienced. His estimate was a little on the high end but within the range and worth it. Walt carefully patched all the cracks and holes in the walls and there were a lot! He is conscientious and explained his plan; no surprises. I highly recommend Walt.

Prepped and painted entire exterior of house, sealed stucco cracks, sanded and re-caulked window frames. Walt was extremely professional, easy to work with, answered calls, prompt, knowledgeable, attention to detail, fair price, finished on schedule. I would not hesitate to hire him again or to recommend to others.

I found Walt on Angie's List and hired him to paint the interior (walls, ceilings, and baseboards) of my 3BD/2BA 1500ft house. He came out on a weekend to give a free estimate and his bid was very competitive. The whole project went smoothly and I was very happy I decided to go with Walt. Like many of the other reviewers had noted, Walt is a true professional. Always shows up on time, very responsive, gives honest assessments and works with you to make sure you're happy. He finished in about 4 days, ahead of schedule, left the house spotless, and gave me extra paint for future touch-ups. Walt is highly skilled and experienced so he does a very high quality job and he does it fast. Would definitely recommend him.

Walt promptly gave us a bid several weeks prior to the job. Pointed out some dry rotted boards on the South side of the home that needed replacement. Walt did not begin the job until he determined that the weather was warm enough to cure the paint properly. Although there was a 2-week time frame, Walt completed everything in 3/4 of this tiime. Walt was meticulous in all aspects of the job and even put a special paint to help protect the South side of the home that is most exposed to the sun. His work was quality everywhere and he left the home in an a-one condition. We would highly recommend him. He works alone and has all the know-how and tools to do a really good, professional job.

Walt did an outstanding job. It was a big job because we had just had our kitchen and family room remodeled, so there was a lot of finish work to touch up so that everything looks right. Walt was also a pleasure to work with. He was very prompt and he kept us posted along the way (the job took about 4 weeks).

Walt did an absolutely professional job! The level of detail was beyond any I’ve ever seen residentially or commercially. Walt showed the highest care of our home environment, our schedule and our two dogs! Before we met with Walt, we thought we had decided on the multiple paint colors needed. With Walt’s wealth of experience and eye for color, he politely suggested some subtle changes that resulted in a fantastic outcome. The cabinets look so perfect that they look like they just came out of a factory shop.

Working with Walt has been great from the beginning. I got quotes from a few painters for repainting/refreshing the entire interior of my home, and for painting my kitchen cabinets, and he was clearly the most knowledgeable. He had several suggestions for making the interior of my home both how I wanted it, done in a way that would last, and with details that I wouldn't even have considered since I'm not a painter. And he's done an amazing job! His prep work on the walls and trim erased the years of dings, dents, and overzealous paint jobs so the interior looks practically brand new. He wasn't the cheapest quote but he wasn't even close to the highest either and I think his quality of work, and the fact that he does all the work himself, makes it a bargain. He shows up on time, he does great quality work, and his prices are very reasonable.

Walt took the time to explain to us the entire process (two weeks in our case) but again, that shows the quality he puts into his work. He uses Kelley Moore Paint of the highest quality which is where he says that's where most other vendors will take their shortcuts and how they can underbid. This was a job I did not want rushed and we were not in a hurry. What amazed me the most was that he was able to complete the two week job with little to no inconvience to us. The equipment he uses creates very little dust or mess and we didn't have to remove anything from our cabinets. We were able to utlize our kitchen everyday, even when he was working in it. Nobody else was able to offer that! He was great with our kids and even allowed our toddler to assist with setting up his vaccuum. Walt was 110% trustworthy. We were able to leave him alone in the house with zero concern. Early on it was obvious to me that painting was more than a job to him, but a passion, sense of pride, and livliehood. He has been in the business for decades, he knows his stuff, and a master of his trade. He is that type of high quality worker that you don't see anymore. He guarantees satisfaction and an included warranty. He worked long hours, taking his time ensuring everything was perfect. He treated my cabinets like they were his own! I could not happier with the end result. Our kitchen is beautiful, the paint is excellent. Our 15 year old cabinets look brand new. I have absolutley no regrets choosing Walt and if you are so lucky to come across him as an option to use, rest assured, he is hands down the obvious choice. Working with Walt was a joy. I like to talk so I stayed away so I wouldn't bother him while he was working. Not only did he do an excellent job painting our kitchen cabinets but he gave me tips on how to keep them clean and other projects I want to paint. He worked almost the whole time thru with limited breaks. The cabinets turned out beautiful! He always cleaned up behind himself when he left for the night. I definitely will hire him again.

From start to finish Walt did a superior job. His knowledge and experience is what I was first impressed, but he far exceeded my expectations once he began the job and completed it. You may be hesitant because you don't think one person can do the work that he says he will and in the time frame, but trust me when I say he does! His professionalism and quality of work was impeccable. He power washes, scrapes and preps everything before he even begins his paint work. You definitely get what you pay for - he may be a bit higher than other bids, but it is easy to see why. We will definitely be hiring him again for other jobs around our home.

He was professional. I liked the fact that he works alone and does all of his own painting. Because he works by himself it was going to take a long time to schedule us and at that time we were thinking about selling our house. He said if we were going to stay in the home it would be different but if we were even thinking about selling we should go with someone who charges less. I appreciated his honesty. I really liked him a lot.

Walt's work was unbelievable - he is a true craftsman. You would never know that the cabinets had been chipped or were worn. His process of cleaning followed by the many layers of specialized materials resulted in cabinets that look as if they were brand new. Walt was responsive, helpful and even completed the job faster than expected. He was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone with similar needs.

Job that was done is excellent. Not only do the cabinets look brand new, Walt also fixed the molding and as well some other carpentry that really finished off the job nicely.

Walt took the time over the phone to answer all of my questions & concerns about getting the exterior of our house painted before we met face-to-face. He gave me a fair price, was punctual each day, super professional & a great communicator. He prepared a very detailed contract and encouraged me to ask questions, check his work, etc. along the way. Most importantly, he is meticulous when it comes to prep (filled in every crack & gap) and the actual painting. I also appreciated the fact that I was dealing with one person - He did all of the prep and painting himself. Since our house is built into a hill with a high vertical in the back, Walt arranged for a scaffolding company to set up before he started and built this cost into the overall price. We had one issue with the scaffolding company (they ruptured a sprinkler pipe) but Walt handled it like a pro and I barely had to get involved. He made suggestions on upkeep, one of which was to get the wood threshold of the front door entryway sanded and re-varnished so he did that too. I highly recommend that if you are looking for someone to paint the exterior of your house that you call Walt and get a bid from him. I am so happy that we went with him and would hire him again any day.
