Unleash Solar

The installation was uneventful. The system looked good when they were finished. Now the prooblems begin. For the first seven months after the installation we still had extremely high Edison bills. We had trouuble with everything, especially getting Unleash Solar to respond in a positive way. After seven months we found out that our invertor was faulty and not working. A new invertor was installed and for one month my Edison bill was down in tier 1. For the next couple of months it had crept up to tier 2 then tier 3. Now my Edison bill is back up to tier 4. I feel there is something wrong in the system that is destroying my second invertor causing it to not produce power. Last month my 18 solar panels only produced 136 kw of power. At this rate my system will NEVER pay for itself as was presented when they sold it to me. Unleash solar does not respond to my letters anymore and legal action may be my only option. WARNING- HAPPINESS IS NOT AN UNLEASH SOLAR SYSTEM! ! !

Unleash Solar unsuccessfully attempted to install a solar system on our roof 3 times. First 2 attempts were without approved plans or permits. On the first attempt the racking system was installed for 250 kW panels instead of the 305 kW panels that were contracted for. The Installers discovered this when they removed the panels from truck. The second attempt was completed using 250 kW panels as agreed to. When I came home from work and saw the quality of the work I called the City to make sure they were aware of my concerns. I was informed there was no approved plans or building permit issued. The City sent two people out the next day to assess the situation. Unleash Solar was required to remove the installation and to upgrade the service panel to the appropriate rating to meet code. The third installation consisted of an attempt to repair the damage they had done to our tile roof, upgrade the service panel to code, and to re-install solar system to code. The third attempt took a month including installing a service panel that was not to the amended contract agreement and a second service panel installation to meet the contract agreement. After all this time and 3 attempts at the installation the electrical and panel installation failed to meet building codes. Unleash Solar was not allowed a fourth attempt to install the system. Following filing a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, claims against their bonds, and retaining legal counsel a settlement was reached with Unleash Solar. This ordeal began in March 2014 and the settlement was finally reached September 10, 2014. As of October we have contracted with a qualified and reputable contractor to remove the solar installation, repair our roof, and reinstall the electrical and solar panels to code. Even with the agreed to settlement we have a substantial loss. Be aware that during this time frame Unleash Solar's Contractors License was suspended twice. Before entering into a contract with Unleash Solar check the Contractors State License Board online site. Check carefully and completely.
