Jim came out the first time and did a great job repairing an existing outlet and adding a new one. Then we needed to have him again to add two new outlets for some landscape lighting. He did a great job each time and cleaned up all the mess from making the holes. I would definately have Jim and the company do more work if needed.

I am a property manager in Orange County and I am constantly in need of a reliable and reasonably priced electrician. I have finally found one! Jack Vardiman Electrical Contractor!!! First, Jack came out and looked at the problem area in the laundry room for the vacant home I was getting ready to rent. He explained the area that contained a possible hazardous condition and how it should be brought to code. Jack explained it in a way that I could clearly present the isssue to the property owner, so we could move forward with the repair and get tenants moved in ASAP. The day of service, Jim came out and completed the job quickly and efficiently. When the job was complete, Jim gave me a clear invoice with the price I had been quoted by Jack. I have used Jack Vardiman Electrical Contractor several times since the first encounter I explained above. Each time, I have been extremely pleased with their prices and professionalism! They are my go to electricial contractor and highly recommend them!

Jim was great. He did the necessary work quickly, while explaining each step. I would recommend Jack to any homeowner or small business with electrical needs. They can do it all and properly the first time!

The service and job was great. Jim called in the morning to see if he could come early than my appointment. This worked out really well because I had a few other appts and was working from the house that day. He was punctural and very professional. He put the outlet in the garage fixed an outlet in the bathroom that had a wire not connected. The work area was neat. He explained what he did. I also had several other jobs that will need to do in the future. I asked him about them, if he knew how much the job would be he let me know and if not sure he said I would need to have them come our for an estimate. I was not planning on doing the jobs right there an then so it was not problem having someone estimate the job. I also had a light that was not working in the garage, he told me what the fix was and that it was not necessary to have them do it, I just needed to replace the light. I was very impressed with Jim and the services provided. One thing that is a pet peeve of mine is that a few times when I have brought people out to bid a job they try to up sell me on things I don't need. There was none of this. I will definitely have them come back out to complete the rest of my electrical needs in the future. I have also recommended them to friends.

Jack was very professional, patient, and really showed dedication to doing the job correct no matter what it takes. He continued to search for the problem and resolved it. I was very impressed with his honesty and his patience. He was very good about explaining what happened in my situation and he informed me every step of the way. He was unflappable. I will definitely be using his company for all my future electrical needs. All of the reviews are correct in that he really is a great electrician and a straight shooter. He was quick but also took the time to explain the problem cause. I also asked him for some estimates on moving some fixtures and remodeling my kitchen lighting. He was very patient and professional. I will be using his services again in the future

It went very nice. Jim, the technician, listened to me and explained everything. I appreciated the service. He checked everything and assured me that everything was okay. What I learned was the most important part. You can tell by the way he was speaking that he was knowledgeable about what he was talking about.

He came the same day that I called. He arrived on time and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem.

They did an excellent job. The price was extremely reasonable. They were very efficient and made sure everything was working before they left. They were prompt as well! Jennifer made my appointment and was very pleasant and cooperative too!

We were happy with them the first time so we have no reason why not to use them the second time.

Before the actual work, Jack came to the house on very short notice to assess the condition of the garage and the various needs of the house. Our home inspector had stated that the electrical was good but just "needed some conduit work." When Jack arrived, he noticed that none of the wiring in the garage was safe and legal. He then proceeded to give great suggestions on a design that would work for us, stay in our budget, and be safe for our family. Jim, Jack's electrician, arrived at our home on the scheduled date. He was punctual and professional. He made quickly tore down the bad cabling and old/frayed equipment. The new wiring is professional, neat, and safe. He added a great garage light and our motion sensing lights are energy efficient and work flawlessly! I will definitely go back to Jack and his company for our future electrical needs and I would highly recommend him to any of my family members.

Jack came in and quickly assessed the problem. he had the tools and materials to fix the problem on the spot and was in and out in 1 hour. He cleaned up any mess and was very professional. I would definitely use him again for any electrical work.

Overall Opinion: Working with Jack Vardiman and his team was an absolute pleasure, the work they completed for us was exemplary, and we will definitely be calling for additional work in the future! Details: We originally called Jack Vardiman to get an estimate for installing ceiling fans in our upstairs bedrooms, to help us cut back on our AC use. Jack was on-time, very personable and professional. Even our nervous little dog took to him immediately. Jack also pointed out that he had noticed a broken outlet and conduit for some exterior lighting that had dangerous exposed wiring, and strongly recommended that repair. During the estimate appointment, my wife also mentioned some future lighting projects we had been considering, and Jack provided useful feedback and recommendations. After receiving our ceiling fan estimate, my wife and I discussed the projects and asked for estimates on the additional items. Jack scheduled to revisit the house and give a more detailed writeup of those items that we had added. All the estimates came back at very competitive prices - we decided to go with the ceiling fans, yard outlet repair, and replacing a 70s-era chandelier that had been looming over our staircase from the day we moved in. Work was scheduled for the upcoming Friday and Saturday, and we were ready to roll. On both days, Jack's fellow electrician Jim was first on site to start the work, and Jim stopped in later to assist. Jim was as friendly and personable as Jack, even indulging our 5-and-3-year-old kids with their curiosity and questions. Work proceeded swiftly and all four bedroom fans and their switches were installed on Friday. The finishes were clean, the fans functioned perfectly, and we are tremendously happy with how much they contribute to our comfort at night. On Saturday, Jim and Jack tackled the chandelier project. With the help of a giant ladder, they removed the eyesore that had been plaguing our entryway for a year and a half. Then they installed some beautiful recessed LED fixtures and switches around the landing to control them. The light from those two fixtures provides much more illumination than the bizarre chandelier ever did, and our entryway is much more open and modern. They also fixed up the broken yard conduit and reinforced it against future damage from rampaging lawnmowers. Throughout the entire process, Jack and Jim were certain to protect our furniture and clean up any dust and debris from removal/installation processes. It's very likely that they left our home in a cleaner state than when they arrived. =) The only (very minor) blemish on the experience: on both Friday and Saturday Jim arrived to start work about an hour later than we were advised to expect him. Given the final results and value, it did not diminish our overall impression, but since Angie's List has a specific rating for Punctuality, we feel the need to point it out. We could not be happier with the quality of the work, the value for money, and the wonderful results in our home. We will be calling Jack Vardiman in the future to tackle additional lighting projects. (We REALLY need to ditch some ancient track lighting. Yuck!) Jack also inspired us to begin replacing our incandescent bulbs with LEDs. We're about 1/3 of the way through all the bulbs in the house.

We've used Jack Vardiman Electric several times over the last 15 years. He's installed can lights, ceiling fans, wall mounted televisions in our home. Jack is the owner and is personally invovled with every job. Jim usually is the one to do the work and is friendly and courteous. They are always do excellent work and their prices are fair. Over the years they have done both small and large jobs for us. They are also trustworthy when it comes to leaving them in your home. On one occasion about ten years ago they installed a bathroom fan that leaked because the mastic on the roof didnt seal properly. We didnt dicover the leak until several months later when it began to rain. Jack sent one of their electricians out on a sunday morning to fix the leak. We are very picky and particular when it comes to work that we've had done and Jack Vardiman has always met our expectations.

Jim a more than qualified electrician working for Jack Vardiman's did an excellent professional job. It does not get any better for electrical service. I am so happy I found Jack's company thru Angies List. And, Jack the owner for 34 years + is a nice man to deal with. Do NOT hesitate to hire this company.

It has been great. He comes with a helper, and they work great together and are very nice.

The power was lost in three areas of my home the fourth of July.I had a suspicion it was a GFI outlet,but no breaker had tripped.I wasnt sure which one to turn off to investigate the issue.I know enough electrical to let someone else do it, and called Monday hoping for an appointment.I called first thing and was thankfully worked into the schedule later in the day.The electrician arrived within the two hour window,listened to me describe what I thought had happened and immediately found the problem.A bad GFI outlet that had been wired into another bathroom outlet,and also multiple other areas.He replaced GFI outlets in both my bathrooms and wired them so if they trip or go bad, they wont affect any other areas.He was very quick,knowledgeable, and professional. I wish this company had done all my electrical work over the years.I was given a 20%Angies list discount on top of what I feel was already a very fair price .

I was in an extended escrow on the purchase of a new building for my Roofing Company. Because of time constraints I needed to do a Commercial build-out of two new offices, complete with canned lights, receptacles, panel up-grade etc... AND, demo my old property and move--all in 10 days! Frantic, I checked Angies List and found Mr Vardiman. The receptionist was very friendly, and, ever aware of my dilemma--facilitated in accommodating me by having the owner (Jack) come out that very day. When I showed up to the new property I was surprised to find out that my Senior Field Superintendant had made an executive decision and hired and old acquaintance who was an electrical contractor also. I was happy the work was getting done but disapointed that I was left out of the process. With no time to call and cancel, Mr. Vardiman showed up exactly on time, saw what was going on, and, when others would have been more than agitated, couldn't have been more understanding and nicer. He even hung around and discussed the possibility of future business. Mr. Vardiman presents himself well, shows a high acumen for his proffession, and gave me no indication that I would ever be dissapointed in his work or judgement. Next time that I have the opportunity I would definitely utilize his services.

Excellent service. The scheduler was responsive to fit our minor repair same-day into a busy schedule. The repairman arrived on-time, and performed the repair work in about 10 minutes. We have used this contractor before, back to the early 1990's when Jack Vardiman was performing our repairs himself. They have a larger staff now but we have been as happy with their work as with that which Jack had done.

Jack Vardiman showed up on time to do the bid. We walked through every room with my list of what I wanted done and he added his knowledge of my city's code. He took notes and drew diagrams of every room as we worked through each area. I appreciate that he would point out items that would require correction and took the time to explain these details so I was aware of the details and the reason for the corrections. At the end of it all, he initiated a conversation providing items he felt I should consider - for example, I wanted data & phone lines routed into each bedroom because I only have one point of access, he pointed out that with the trend to wireless that this may be more traditional than useful. He's right & I am already using wireless throughout, it's not likely to be useful for me (or the next owner) so I took that off the list. He also told me the ballpark of the work but that he would work up the estimate with exactly what I'd asked for. He also obligated to work an estimate for what he felt was really needed to upgrade the property. Which are exactly the 2 estimates I received. I had no idea the price of electrical and it came in higher that I was able to take on at that time. But I was very impressed to have a contractor who was more interested educating the customer in the electrical system and having the work better scope even when it meant recommending dropping items out of the bill. By the way, I made a note of some of the information he gave me on arc faults, grounding and the code per my city to do some research after he left. I wanted to check out the information he provided. Those items I researched confirmed what he had told me. I'm in the process of putting some additional funds aside and splitting the electrical work up into smaller projects. I will go back to Jack Vardiman when I have those ready.

Jack Vardiman's crew did a great job. They removed the old electrical conduits and in no time, they were able to re-do the electrical conduit and wiring. Excellent workmanship and skill. Would use them again on future jobs.
