He moves really fast and gets things done on time. When he quotes you something he just sticks with the quote and doesn’t find ways to overcharge you. The work is all really good and other contracts say they are impressed by how great it is.

We hired them to finish a deck that was started by another general landscape contractor. CDB not only finished it ahead of schedule, but their work exceeded our expectations including professionalism, material selection (ipe), and construction quality. Their work is now the crown jewel of our backyard. Of course they do the obvious stuff (which should be standard, but often is not) - showed up reliably on time, communicated clearly and frequently, cleaned after each day, had a professional setup, worked full days, presented a good solid contract, were very easy to work. But more importantly, Kobi listened to our ideas, carefully considered them, and provided alternatives to consider. For us this included: - Smaller tree opening in the top deck for safety, and can be enlarged later as needed. - Various screw options and patterns for visual interest - Alternate bench design to integrate better with the surrounding yard conditions - Various wood transitions and edge condition details - Design solution for concealing the fountain pump with a removable cap that doubled as a step to the upper deck - Cleanly notched wood panels to cover uneven tile installations at the fountain Kobi also connected us with a skilled and licensed electrician who helped us properly ground and reconnect all power in the yard, which were incorrectly installed by the previous contractors we hired. I could go on. At the end of the day, Kobi, Erika and Richie are great people. I had the pleasure of eating lunch with them during break, and we had stimulating, fun, and enjoyable conversations over mexican food. This is what it’s meant to be.

California Deck Builders is amazing! I was in search of someone to turn my backyard into a magical gathering space and Kobi, Erika and their team were absolutely fantastic! To start off, Erika and Kobi visited my home within days of my initial phone call. They were on time, professional, knowledgeable and completely delightful. They provided several options to make my space functional and beautiful. Within a week, they began to transform my under-used, boring and lifeless space into a beautiful, functional and enjoyable space. I used to look at my yard and feel overwhelmed, now I look to my yard for inspiration. California Deck Builders helped me create a beautiful oasis with California friendly landscaping, outdoor lighting, and multiple spaces to entertain. I initially hired them for a deck construction and soon realized they were the team I needed to create my magical gathering space that I now enjoy day and night. My backyard now seamlessly combines a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen and deck with dining area. Near my outdoor kitchen, I now also have a few raised beds growing seasonal organic vegetables and herbs. A water feature and well-planned landscaping not only keep the noise out from the nearby street but also invite many birds, butterflies and bees throughout the day! They completed the project on time and never asked for additional money. I am so pleased that the only surprises I had with them were good ones! After many months of conversations with over-priced and under-committed contractors, I was ready to give up on my yard. Bottom line: Kobi & co will do your job excellently at a reasonable price & on-schedule, with no surprises. In my case, they actually finished the deck early - & only because these guys worked hard every day, & even came in on Saturday for the last day to keep the momentum going. It's difficult to express how incredibly rare this is in the industry. Some more details: I am a very cautious person - it takes me a long time to "start" because I always want to do more research. That being said, Kobi managed to get my trust where many other contractors had not. He was prompt & responsive. He was also flexible in the places where we were unsure on the design, as well as the starting schedule. He's also straightforward - I had a big problem with larger construction outfits that tried to upsell me with confusing powerpoint presentations. Kobi & team also accomplished creating the backyard raised deck my wife & I were looking for just perfectly. Kobi was flexible with us, & we can be difficult clients - we were changing the design right up until the contract was actually signed. I couldn't have asked for a better process & outcome!

Working with Kobi and his team was the best experience I have ever had working with a contractor. Kobi is a perfectionist and it truly shows in his finished product. When I first consulted with Kobi and shared my vision of what I wanted my deck and pergola to look like. It was like he was picturing it the same as me.
