ASHES TO ASHES

Mr. Hensley's generator broke the first day, the 2nd day he had to leave after showing up midday to go purchase a nozzle for the equipment. By 7pm that evening, the nozzle came loose from the machine, spraying Thermacrete (a dark grey fine grit concrete material) all over the room: wood ceiling, framed artwork, wall mounted HDTV, furniture, etc. Mr. Hensley finished wiping down the room in the dark of night with what looked like a dirty rag. I later found my expensive hand towel wadded up in back of the garage worn threadbare. Mr. Hensley did not leave until after 10pm. He wanted final payment which suddenly was $200 more than originally quoted. The next day, in daylight, I woke to grey smeared walls, dried concrete flecks all over the room. When the other contractor showed up to check Mr. Hensley's work, I was told the Thermacrete application was uneven and cracked. Via phone, Mr. Hensley insisted his work was complete. I hired an inspector to film the inside of the chimney and indeed the entire flue is filled with cracks, over application of product that drips down the side like icicles. Still Mr. Hensley would not budge, saying the inspector was his competition. I appealed to Thermacrete; they declined any responsibility. In my contact with Mr. Hensley, he was aggressive, disrespectful, and clearly does not care about the quality of his work. He has offered to return and complete work I had to PAY to prove to him was inadequate. Why would I trust him now? DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN, Mr. Enrique, Rick, Hensley. A complaint is currently with the CSLB Arbitration. I am out the cost of Mr. Hensley's "work", the damage to my belongings, and the fee for an inspection. Two years later, I have a fireplace that has been tagged as inoperable.

IT'S JUST THAT THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. THEY SHOWED UP FOR A COUPLE OF APPOINTMENTS WITH VERY LITTLE TIME SCHEDULED, AND THEY SHOWED UP AND SAID WE DON'T HAVE THE STUFF TO DO THAT JOB. IT WAS MORE INVOLVED WITH THAT, AND I THINK THAT WAS BECAUSE THE CONTRACTOR DIDN'T GIVE THEM ENOUGH INFORMATION.

WE LIKED THE COMPANY A LOT. THEY CAME ON TIME AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE. THEY WERE TRUE TO THEIR WORD, CAME WHEN WE SCHEDULED THEM TO COME IN AND DID THE WORK AND KEPT INSIDE OF MY HOUSE CLEAN.
