Joey drove down to Sunnyvale from Berkeley to actually see the rooms and house, to see what our style and decorating preferences. She was a good listener and provided excellent recommendations and actual samples of paint colors. There were also several follow ups that we did via email. Everything turned out better than I could have hoped for, and I am so glad that I did not try to rely on my own color guesses. Because Joey is very busy, please allow time for her to respond and then to schedule an appointment with you. I cannot recommend her highly enough!!!

We've been trying to figure out what color of paint our house I've been siding out. We are just terrible at picking colors. She is just very thorough and very tasteful. She is just really good. For the appraisal, it was $175 for an hour. Once she gets going, she goes until it gets done but she did not charge us extra for it. She is a dynamo. She is just very direct. Once she realized that we had nothing to do with picking any of the colors in here, she was very blunt about them. She's very tactful but very direct. She could walk into a room and say "Here's what I would recommend and it would look great," and it pretty much does. We will be using her again. She was just amazing.

Joey was able to assess the work required and complete it within the budget and on schedule. She works very neatly and is 100% reliable. She manages her team with the same level of expectation and perfection as she expects from herself. She is a good communicator with frequent and accurate updates. I trust her and her recommendations for other workers completely. She is very knowledgeable and made many good suggestions about my project. In addition to painting, she stepped in to help with other activities to prepare the house for the next set of renters. She has a great eye for colors and suggested some color combinations which I won't have thought of and which worked out great. I am very excited about some of the color options we are looking at for the exterior of the house. I would recommend her highly without hesitation.

I highly, highly recommend The Color Effect for anyone looking for an excellent painter/color consultant. We worked with Alicia over the course of several months and every interaction was a pleasure. She helped us with room color choices, window treatments and did all of the work beautifully. Alicia is someone who is a pleasure to have in your home (my kids absolutely loved her.) She went of her way to to assist us several times such as when she (on her own time) came by to meet with window treatment consultant, and another time when she picked up a shower curtain for us on move in day. We will be using her in the future on the few spaces she has not yet helped us with. I recommend her with out reservations.

Joey is the owner. They did a good job. It feels like a new place. Her recommendations for colors were impeccable. She was timely. She was neat which is always really important for me from a painter. I had no damage to my carpeting. She had to move the furniture and shelves and that wasn't a problem. I had no complications whatsoever. I appreciate a contractor who's on time. I wasn't waiting around or calling to check when she was going to get in. She was always on time. Her price was reasonable. I have really good luck with Angie's List. I would use her again in the future if need be.

I had been overwhelmed with the number of choices and having trouble visualizing how they would look. Several trips to the paint store, heaps of paint chips, and many expeditions to look at other houses were no help. Joey came over, studied the house and the neighborhood, asked me what I was looking for, and then was able to make a couple of very specific recommendations for me to try. The whole process became simple and quick, and it turned out great.
