 + -1 moreOdin's Hammer ensured that this massive project was completed with the highest quality results, on schedule (weather permitting), and with the least amount of disruption and inconvenience to the customer. They carefully explained all the details of the work and consulted with me about my choices for materials and design. They were very adept at playing interference with the various cement, stucco, and plumbing contractors. They resolved any issues related to these third parties to guarantee successful results. I was especially pleased with the deck design and construction. I met with Dave Yarnell to research design ideas and options. We created an innovative design that included a privacy screen and impressive cable railing. Having made this huge investment in my most important asset, my house, I am extremely satisfied with the results. For future projects I would only consider using Odin's Hammer. They're a first-class operation that delivers the highest level of service.
Description of Work: Total demolition and reconstruction of exisiting front steps, basement, foundation, and back steps. The dirt basement was converted into a finished concrete basement with a state-of-the-art sump pump, and the back steps were converted into a spacious, custom-designed deck. New steps were constructed to provide up-to-code basement access. The work included installing two new doors, remedying dry rot, and overseeing of new heating, plumbing, painting, stuccoing, railing, lighting, and roofing. Work was also done on the attached garage to bring it to code and align with the new front step and basement configuration. All construction adhered to green building practices. Deck foundation consists of non-arsenic treated wood. Trex comprises the deck itself, with Ipe wood used for rails and trim.
