They were superb. They are local. Aside from the owner there were a crew that came and they were very nice. They cleaned up the yard after they did the service. They did not disturb the neighbors and they were very pleasant. One of the trees is very close to the house and they did a great job without damage to the house. Their price is fair, they are not the cheapest but they do good job.

The tree removal went fine. They seemed very experience and did a decent job with the tree removal. The pruning was absolutely horrible, almost beyond repair. In fact, they did such a poor job that the owner agreed to come out again to clean up and "save" what they could from the hack job they did on the plum trees. I decided to have another tree company come out and give me their opinion, before having Hans at Coastal Tree come up and do the repair pruning work. This tree company was shocked by the hack job and told me they could repair 4 out of 5 plum trees, but it would take perhaps 2 years for them to recover. So, I told Hans I did not want them coming back out and that I was going to use another company. I also told Hans that I did not want to pay for the "pruning" that they did and that I would have to pay another company to do the job correctly and professionally. I agreed to pay for the tree removal, and I am applying my 10% coupon regardless of what Hans prefers. It's a shame, these trees are a significant part of my curb appeal and they basically gave the trees flat top hair cuts with chainsaws. Horrible. We all have bad days, but Coastal Tree completely let me down and I would recommend you look elsewhere or you may very well regret it.

Although Hans didn't return my calls immediately (hence the low grade for "responsiveness") when I did hear back from him he was quite easy to talk to. He agreed to a time, arranged with my neighbor for the driveway adjacent to the tree to be clear, showed up on time with the correct equipment, and did the job fast and efficiently. I asked him to save the larger pieces of wood for me, and he did that just as I'd asked. Altogether, it went quite smoothly. I probably could have found someone to do it a little cheaper, but I'm glad I went with these guys.

I was not home for the appointment myself, so I cannot comment on speaking with him in person and receiving the quote. I returned home that afternoon to his written quote. It was the first quote I received for the job; however, I thought the price was too high, specifically the price quoted for the very small dead tree with a mere 4" trunk. I received two additional quotes from other companies and ended up going with another provider closer to my desired price range. Regardless, pleasant experience overall.

This is an excellent tree service. They arrive promptly, bring the right crew and equipment, take care of the job, and leave the trees and garden and sidewalk clean and clear of any debris. They pay attention to using eco friendly equipment, and they recycle all trimmings through their own woodchopper. We will definitely call Coastal again.

Was a positive experience - trees were difficult to trim, but they were well equipped and knew ther business.

Hans was friendly during price negotiations and the fee seemed reasonable. The crew was efficient and careful to make all the right cuts. Clean up was very good. We love all the sunlight streaming into our building, definitely gives one a lift in the morning! Would definitely use Coastal Tree again.

Played phone tag with the estimator Rich Fordfor a week. He called several times close to 10 pm at night which we were not too happy with since we have a toddler. It was great that he came over on a Sat to do an estimate, but the appt was a 10 am and at 10:30 he still had not arrived. I called and he said he was running late and would be there in 15 minutes later. He finally showed up at 11:30 apologizing. He was older and said he was exhausted from working in the heat the day before. His bid was half of what another bid we got from another tree service and he seemed professional and honest beside the lateness so we went with him. We scheduled work for the Wed following at 8 am. Hans the owner rang our doorbell at 7:30am! He wanted to check out the place and then his crew arrived at 8am as scheduled. The 3 crew members worked hard from 8 to 2 pm. They had to use the neighbors yard to haul out the trees and cleaned up very well. Our only lesson learned- we asked to keep some of the wood chips. Since the truck came half full and Hans was only staying for a few hours he emptied woodchips from another job in our driveway instead of ours (had some ivy and a lot of greens) and way too much! We should have talked to the crew and gotten our chipped trees and one tenth of what was left. Our fault- lesson learned!

We were very pleased and would recommend Coastal Tree.

Came out on schedule to provide a quote, which they handed to me on the spot -- that was a great unexpected surprise. Their price was slightly higher than other bids, but all bids were quite close. I just felt better about the experience of the team and the fact that they didn't insist that every tree I pointed out actually had to be removed -- so I felt like they were being more honest in apprising the situation. The day they were scheduled to do the work, they showed up on time with a courteous crew and a wood chipper. They removed all four trees very quickly, without damaging anything at all, even nearby foliage, brick walls, the building, etc. Left the areas neat and tidy. Very professional and respectful throughout. A very nice group of guys! I'd recommend them highly.

Very poorly. His estimator had agreed to work that Hans clearly did not want to do when he came to do it.

Service was very prompt. Clean up was good. We didn't get any other estimates, so I'm not sure on how competitive the price was.

We had called several other Tree Service Companies and had become very frustrated because the majority of them either cancelled at the last moment, or simply did not return our phone calls after they provided us with their estimate. Due to other similarities, we realized we were being blackballed by a neighbor who has a beef with us, and has many friends that own Tree Services in our neighborhood/area/city. It was only prudent that we advise Mr. Waller that we had a difficult and hostile neighbor, that we had written a letter to her, requesting she not harass our Tree Service Personnel. She responded affirmately, but due to her past behavior where she actually yelled and frightened the personnel, who were in no way infringing on her property, we were concerned. Mr. Waller was very calm, and of course we did not infringe on her property in any manner. The work was done, completed in a very professional and satisfactory manner. We are very, very pleased with Coastal Tree Service.

Everything done on time, with skill, precision, neatness and safety. Left the yard neater than it was when they arrived! Price competitive and fair and overall job performance outstanding.

First Job. All items went like clockwork. Responded qucikly to our ;requst for quote. Low price bidder. ;Said what he would do. Did what he said. On time. good work. No delays. I would give them all ''A's'' A few weeks later. Second Job. Requested a quote. After 5 or 6 telephone calls over a period of 5 week, promises, but no quote, We gave up and went with another company.

Professional, polite, timely, accomplished more than satisfactorily agreed upon work.

I had a large tree pruned. They did a very good job & cleaned up after themselves. The whole job was problem free & I would recommend them. I've used them before & will use them again because they do good work & are a very respected company.
