A-1 The Clear Choice

Called A-1 The Clear Choice after reading reviews on Angie's List. Since I had not had my exterior windows washed in a decade, I was determined to find a reliable, trust-worthy company to do the cleaning. From the first call to the office to the actual service, I was pleased. All of the people I dealt with were cordial, responsive and professional. Eliseo, the technician who did the work, was punctual and very professional. He quietly and efficiently set about to do his work and did a very good job. I would certainly recommend this company and will use them again (I won't wait 10 years!).

A review was posted yesterday or today about services rendered for us by A-1 on 5/12/15. A rating of C was posted. WE DID NOT POST THAT REVIEW. A-1 did not perform any services for us on that date or at any time in 2015. We will use A-1 again because in times past they have done great work for us meriting an "A" rating. Stuart scheduled the appointment and gave me an estimate over the phone just by looking at the house on Google. Rene was the associate who performed the work. Rene was prompt, friendly and professional. He did a thorough job scrubbing years of dirt off our windows and was contentious about ensuring none of our furnishings got dirty or wet. The windows look so good I thought Rene forgot to put the screens back on, but everything was just so clean. Well done for $375 and 23 windows!

Did a great job on our house windows which made a remarkable difference. Made the windows in our house all look new again and they have not been cleaned in many years. The worker was prompt, professional and courteous and work hard to get all of this done. We would use them again any time.

This was the second year in a row we used A-1 - and we will use them again next year (or the next time our city view fades to nearly out-of-sight). Our unit is pretty high up and we have a total of 16 windows on three sides - ranging from floor-to-ceiling to smaller bathroom and laundry room windows. Their rep arrived right on time and started to work. He spent nearly three hours making sure that every pane was left spotless. He was courteous and professional throughout. These folks are the best in our book.

They did a fabulous job. Who knew it would make such a difference! Wish we had used them years ago when we first moved in. Oscar was polite, punctual and professional, competent and very friendly. We will definitely use their services again.

Evan was extremely professional. He did an amazing job on the windows which had not been cleaned in 9 years. He cleaned all of the screens as well. I was amazed on how great they looked!

They were terrific. They came around to scope out the job, and they had some free time right then and there so they performed service then. They did a super job.

When you want spectacularly clean windows, do call A-1 The Clear Choice. The scheduler was courteous and provided me with an estimate. The technician was prompt, and upon arrival quickly surveyed the job and provided the cost of the job (less than the estimate) before beginning work. He was pleasant, professional, and efficient. My windows sparkle. I could not be more pleased.

I was very impressed with this company. My mom has a big, older home in the Berkeley Hills with many windows, some larger (i.e. French doors, or sliding doors; a Bay window, etc.), some with many smaller panes, some set back from the roof, some I had forgotten even existed!! (side garage windows). A team of two pleasant, polite workers arrived on time and immediately set to work. After a bit they were also joined by the owner himself who worked for a whole hour to help them. They worked extremely hard and did meticulous, careful, extremely detailed work, cleaning the windows carefully and skillfully with a special, non-streak solution, cleaning and recleaning and re-recleaning, carefully chipping off bits of dirt or anything else crusted to the window. The sliding doors and windows were taken off their runners to be cleaned everywhere. They cleaned the window channels. Having hired quite a few workers both in the Bay Area for my mom, and in Los Angeles, where I live, I was very impressed with their work quality and work ethic, and also, particularly noticed and appreciated that the two guys doing the work were quiet, respectful and deferential to my elderly mom. Stuart, the owner, was also very dedicated, hard working, and very reasonable and responsive to any of the questions I had. At first I thought the price ($450) seemed a bit high but when I saw how hard and how long they worked, and the quality of the work above all, I thought it was a very fair price and well worth it. The windows, which hadn't been cleaned in a really long time, were sparkling clean and looked fantastic. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend them 100%.

He arrived exactly on time and exceeded my expectations. Cleaned gutters and downspouts and cleaned up after himself. No mess. Original estimate was 4 hours and it took nearly 8. Maybe it could have been done faster but I thought the 4 hour estimate seemed too low so I wasn't really surprised. And in the end what matters is that the job was done well and I didn't have to spend time cleaning up after him.

Went well, called to set up appointment and they came out next day.

The owner came by per appointment to check my upper story arch window to be sure it fell within my Big Deal limits. He said it did. There was a strip of molding that had come undone but he said he didn't know how to fix it. When the workers arrived, one worked outside, the other inside. They did a marvelous job. After they left I found the strip of molding was fixed! The inside worker finished the windows first and then offered to wash my sliding closet mirror doors! A definite BIG DEAL!

I called and arranged an appointment. While I was on the phone they found my house on Google Earth and gave me an estimate. They called a day earlier to confirm. One person showed up on time and performed the work - I was there part of the time but left before he was finished. When I returned everything was in order - no messy decayed leaves around the perimeter of the house. Their price is based on time. Their estimate was about $100 and the charge was $150. Their justification was the gutters were very full and there was additional work with my garage gutters. This is correct - my gutters do get stuffed with leaves from a neighbors tree and needles from my redwood and I did neglect to get the garage included in the initial estimate. The N/A rating on quality is because I was not able to climb up and actually inspect the gutters nor has it rained since they cleaned them.

They did a fabulous job! The windows sparkled! They were extremely careful not to disturb anything in the house around the windows...I'm still amazed at the job they did. Having the blinds cleaned onsite and up again the same day was wonderful because we didn't have to go a night without window coverings. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

This is the second time we've used A-1. The technician worked quickly but thoroughly. The windows look great. We would not hesitate to use them again.

Extremely rude owner who sends threatening emails and does not know the meaning of customer service. Horrible work by employee, who left the windows completely dirty; tracks, window frames and screens caked up with dirt (really not any different from how they were to begin with - not to mention dirty sooty finger prints and dirty streaks all over my literally "just" painted condo. Will never use again, BEWARE, stay away!!!

Very friendly, professional service. Thorough work by two very efficient workers got the job done with great courtesy. We are very happy with the results.

Two men from A-1 came a few minutes early. They worked hard, got the gutters clean, cleaned up the debris on the ground, cleaned leaves and cobwebs off house siding. Hosed, and/or swept the decks and driveway. The were courteous and professional. it is a difficult job a two story house on a hillside. We are going to use them next to clean the windows, and would call them back for the gutters. two thumbs up for A-1.

Quick response on first contact. very courteous. They came out for estimate and i received the bid which was reasonable and less than the last time I hired someone for this job. He came on time and stayed with no delay until job was done. I have older home with casement windows and they are spotless. Conclusion is I will continue to use A-1 Clear Choice in the future and recommend this company. Plus I will use Angie's List since because of this company on your lists.

Very prompt, courteous. Explained what he did and what he found and recommended they return once a year to have the gutters cleaned. No problems.
