The day was hot with a strong wind. Neither the amount of windows nor the heat nor the wind phased the team that showed up to clean the windows. Carlos introduced himself and asked for a tour for the quote. While the rate was nearly $200 more than the last person who cleaned my windows, I think that person went out of business. Anyhow, outside of the price, the job was great! The crew professional, hardworking, and not chatty. I will use them every year going forward and will try out their gutter cleaning this winter. I also love the fact I could schedule the appointment, change it and "talk" to Stuart via email. Very easy to do business with.

A1 gave me the fastest response and the lowest rate. The cleaner who arrived was punctual, professional, and worked through the rain. The price was very competitive. I know this because I did call two other highly rated companies from Angie's list. I will be using this company on a regular basis in the future to avoid growing a "living garden" on our roof.

Excellent service by the owner and staff. I was able to book an appointment within the week. On the day of the appointment the owner called to check if it would be okay if they were a half hour late, due to an earlier appointment. The cleaning operator arrived on time to the later appointment and finished the job faster than their initial estimate. And the gutters were definitely cleaned out b/c it rained heavily the following day and everything was working perfectly. Thanks!!

Wow! Clearly deserving of the recognition by the list. If only all vendors worked this way. After first contacting the company, I received regular, polite calls back to set-up a time for an estimate to clean all the windows, inside & out on a single-family residence in Berkeley. The process to estimate was quick and straightforward, with clear explanation of my options?a verbal was given with confirmation via email, and the work was easily scheduled. Though rained out on the original day of work, they were proactive in rescheduling for the next day. On the day of the work, the individual arrived on time, in a company car and professional company T-shirt, and his demeanor was pleasant, engaging and professional. He set to work right away and made quick progress with all of the outside windows. His pleasant demeanor continued when he entered the house to work on those windows. There was some detailed work inside and out to remove some dirt and stains, and the work cleaning the glass in an old, original, 6-pane door with breath taking! Wonderful job from start to finish. A-1 is?well?A-1+ UPDATE: November 2013--since I wrote this review, I've used this company annually for window cleaning. STILL top review in my mind. Their service is consistently excellent!!

called them and made an appt. The guy came out and was clearly overwhelmed. He kept saying it was a really big job. Called his boss on the phone. He had a british accent . The guy handed the phone to me. I expressed my hesitation that the job was too big for one guy. After looking in the truck I also felt that the equipment was not adequate for the job.. After some haggeling we agreed on a price and he assured me that the guy could do the job. He said he would send him help later. No help ever arrived. He did a so so job. We ended up getting the back power washed again 2 months later. The gutters are still not functioning well. I don't think they were completley cleared. I would NOT use this company again.

Showed up on time and did a good job. I also asked them to repair a few leaks using cauling and that was done too. One of the holes was still leaking after the next rain but they came back and fixed it without additional charge. Very reasonable and pleasant to deal with. I'll hire them again.

Very Professional . Arrived on time as scheduled. Very clear on estimated costs. Took time to explain process, took before and after pictures of all the gutters, cleaned up and bagged all debris. I was very satisfied with the cost and quality of work and would use A-1 again.

They sub contracted both parts of the job and I though the bid included the skylights, but, the guy who came out had no idea about that. He also missed one of the windows. However, the guy they sent to power wash the deck was great.

Ivan arrived on time and began working immediately following a brief discussion of the job. He worked carefully and did a thorough job of my very dirty windows. The house is on the bay and gets wind, salt and dust. A recent remodeling job had layered on sawdust and tile dust throughout the interior. The windows and screens look fantastic--the job took several hours and aside from a couple water spots on interior surfaces, the cleanup was great.

I have a very large home with many windows, some 2 stories high at a point where the house is on a hill, plus 5 sets of French Doors with many windows in each. The owner, Stuart, gave me a bid of $400 plus $15.00 per venetian blind (I had 5 cleaned). In the past I have actually had window washers decline the job as the windows "were too difficult to wash." 2 workers showed up on time and finished the job several hours later. The blinds were removed from the windows and washed with soap and water and hosed down. They had to use ladders inside and out----they covered all furniture around the work area and did the entire job "by hand." I couldn't be happier with the job and will definitely use them again next year. Vicki in San Rafael

I love it when people are responsive and A1 was. I got in touch with them and scheduled an estimate the first time I called. They came out a few days latter, per my request, to give us an estimate... yup they were on time. Arnoldo walked through the whole house asking us questions on what needed to be cleaned. They gave us a quote of $200.00, we were pleasantly shocked and scheduled them for the following Saturday.... yup they were on time. 4 hours latter we had clean windows. I was only disappointed with some of the clean up I had to do. I guess from cleaning out the sliding door tracks the dust and dirt got on our clean floors and there were some residual dirty drops of water. It wasn't major but none the less I still had to go around the house with a wet towel to get things back to normal. With that aside we will use them again.

Rene arrived on time and worked diligently for almost 7 hours. He worked so quickly and quietly I was often not even aware of where he was working. He was very polite and tidy. He did a beautiful job, including the cleaning of very old mini-blinds.

Everything we very well. They were here when they said they would be and finished the work in a timely manner.

This was the first time I had used their services. They did a good job and were efficient. The price was right and the young fellow they sent out was very nice.

Wow, wow, WOW! Can't say enough about these terrific guys!! I was planning a large birthday party for my partner and had about 40 guests coming the next week. First of all, Stuart was very professional and courteous on the phone and we set an appointment promptly (just one week out, which worked best for me). The two gentlemen who came out (I feel terrible I can't remember their names!) were OUTSTANDING! Extremely courteous, prompt, hard working. I gave them a brief tour of the house and they went right to work. Along the way, one of them asked me about a mirrored door I had in my hallway that I'd left covered with drywall texturing material and some paint because I had always intended just to replace that door. And he said, "Sure, I get that, but wouldn't you like it looking nice for the party?" Sheesh! Why didn't I think of that?!! So he cleaned that mirror along with the large double sliding master bedroom mirrored closet doors. Everything absolutely gleamed! And for $250.00?? I was expecting to pay much more! I had over 27 different sized windows, two sliding glass doors, a huge garden window, for $250.00?? Plus, the mirrors he did just to be nice?? This great company is at the TOP of my A list!! They did an excellent job. They were thorough. The estimate was accurate, and they stayed within the estimate. They cleaned up after themselves. I was just very impressed with them.

It was difficult to make contact with Stuart. After two weeks of trying and leaving messages (e-mails not returned), Stuart and I connected. He sent me Rene the very same day. Rene was fantastic! He was fast, meticulous, friendly and didn't leave anything out of place or dripped upon.

It was a good price. I liked them very much. Next time I need to wash my windows, I will call them.

I was pleased that I got a quick estimate, even though it was higher than what I had been paying (it wasn't as high as other estimates I got, but close). They were flexible about which day was most convenient for me. The guys were very polite and cleaned every window in sight, including the Plexiglas railings that we have on all three stories and the same kind of railings inside around a stairwell. The windows still shine--they did an excellent job.

Workers arrived on time. Proceeded to clean the large high-up windows, and after that since I had time on my minimum he cleaned several other windows. I will definitely use them again!

Very nice job, the windows were sparkling clean. The worker was on time and friendly. Wore booties to cover his shoes in the house.

In search of a window cleaning company, out of 4 calls A1 was the only one who answered the phone. We were able to discuss the job and schedule the work in 10 minutes. The workers arrived on time and completed the work in the time stated.
