They did a great job. They charged me another $270 because they had to put Freon. They were very efficient. I think the price was reasonable considering what Freon costs nowadays. Freon is very expensive. I would definitely use them again.

They're prices were reasonable, they came promptly, and called me ahead of time to confirm that they were on their way. They explained everything to me. I purchased another service from them that I thought was reasonable.

Scheduling was the difficult part. The first agreed window they did not show and I found this out only by calling them, not vice versa. The 2nd date went well, and the technician was professional, friendly, honest, and most importantly wasn't trying to "sell" me on thousands of dollars of additional services or replacements. Told me my unit is ~20 yrs old (I know this) and that at this age and older is typically when problems begin to occur.

He was wonderful and very reasonably priced. They were always on time and polite. Excellent and outstanding service!

It was alright. I didn't think the price was as good as I hoped it would be. The first thing the guy said when they came in was your furnace is 14 years old, your probably gonna need a new one, before they looked at anything. So that kinda frustrated me. They went up in the attic and checked it and everything. I mean it was worth the money, it just wasn't a particular good deal. I wasn't thrilled with them. They were good but not excellent.

We strongly recommend that you obtain a neutral inspection opinion first. (Call PG&E at 1-800-PGE-5000 and ask for their free gas appliance safety inspection.) If we went with what NWP recommended, we would have spent $20k+ to unnecessarily upgrade our appliances and systems.

I was very impressed with Cesar (the owner) who came to have a look and provide a quote. He was on time and patiently explained the work and various equipment options. The quote was also very competitive. The included labor and parts warranty showed the confidence and pride NWP has in their services! I had a few questions before I made my decision which Cesar promptly responded. The install was promptly scheduled and the crew was very friendly and professional. Floors were covered up and debris removed at the end of each work day. The new system is working great!

A little online troubleshooting gave me an idea of what was wrong with my AC. Not being mechanically inclined, I knew I couldn't replace the capacitor myself even though it is a cheap part. I called NWP on a 100 degree day with out-of-town company visiting so I couldn't negotiate price from a position of strength. I was in a twist and they knew it! Nevertheless, they were courteous, professional and efficient so I signed on to their maintenance agreement and got a discount on the repair done bill. I have an 18 year old system so the though of extending the life as much as I can was appealing. The service agreement includes a maintenance visit before the winter heating season and a visit before the summer cooling season. Within 20 minutes of arriving, they had the unit running and the house cooling down. Overall, a good experience and the owner is a likable fellow.

Professional install and they beat the price of a few more local companies by a fair amount (after negotiations) to be able to meet our budget. The techs were good to accommodate a few specific requests in terms of where the lineset went and how the conduit was installed.

GREAT! Gino called the same day and had a technician out the following morning. Maria was able to get the unit working and we were provided information on what she was doing and the estimate for the fix. Cesar came and we asked about replacing the unit versus repairing it and we got the information we needed to make the right decision. We had a new air conditioner installed the very next day (Saturday) and it includes a two year service contract. There was no charge for the repairs because we got the new unit. The techs that installed were on time and professional. I highly recommend NWP.

See above Horrible experience both with Angie's list and the contractor. He never called to setup a time. I called Angie's and they said to wait a couple of days and they said you dont get to call us for this level of membership. I waited then spoke Angie's support by chat and they said we are forwarding it to our ecommerce and no attempt to fix or find the problem. I find Angie's service to be pathetic so I asked them to cancel the order and cancel my membership with Angie's list

I did not hear from NWP right away. I had indicated 3 possible times at which they could come by and look at this. When I connected with them, Jinu scheduled a time. He asked for my address and phone number. I am not sure whether angie's is not giving this information any more, but other providers seem to have my address/phone already after purchase. Jonathan came in for diagnostics. I played a cell phone video of the problem. He also heard the noise when he started the AC. He measured the in-rush current for the compressor. It was 67A. The rated max was 64A. He measured the run capacitor capacitance. It came out 39.22 vs the rated 40 microfarad. He also connected a new 45 microfarad run capacitor and observed that the ac started fine. The diagnosis was I needed a new run capacitor ($252) and a hard start kit ($252) which is another capacitor with a relay that helps with high current needs during startup. The total estimated cost was $504. When asked about discount, he was willing to take 10% off. Given how easy it is to replace the run capacitor (5 screws and 3 wires to disconnect and reconnect), $252 is high. The capacitor itself is less than $20. Professional replacing this should be under 5 minutes. Even if it is 10 minutes with testing, etc., that would make labor at a whopping $1400/hr. Also given 39.22 is within 6% tolerance rating of the run capacitor, the replacement of run capacitor is less likely to make difference. I also looked into labor and material costs for hard start kit. It can be done by a professional in no more than 10-15 minutes. Some hard start kits that look similar to what he showed me would be installed are around $20. Also, because I went though Angie's list, diagnostics dollars would not count towards the repair costs, Jonathan said. So, I think the diagnosis was correct but the repair proposal was expensive and potentially unnecessary (i.e. run capacitor replacement). They need to improve on their responsiveness. If you hire them, make sure the prices they quote match the work they are going to do.

Maybe just doing their job promptly for a reasonable price shouldn't deserve five stars but, based on other experiences I've had ... it does!

Two people arrived promptly, owner Cesar and a technician. My A/C unit is under the deck; wood slats have to be removed to service the unit. I had sent a photo earlier, so Cesar brought smaller technician. Removing the wood slats took a good 15 minutes because the screw heads had been stripped. Cesar informed me that the capacitor and hard-starter were very close to failing. He also said that the $49 Angie's List coupon applied only for units that sat on the deck, not below it. He said he needed to charge me $129. I would have appreciated being told this beforehand, when I called and sent the photo. Also, he didn't mention applying the discount was ($20? $40?) to the more expensive service. I didn't press the point because he said he'd forgive the additional if I replaced the two parts he recommended. I checked the cost of the two parts online after they left. They're far less than $100 in total, which means I paid $350 for 30 minutes of labor. A web search showed people paying as much as $375 for the service I got--not $500. Bottom line: responsive and competent, but possibly overpriced.
