They are 100% professional. They maintain a very clean worksite, my yard and home was never disrupted. They kept me informed through the whole process. Their work crews were extremely quiet. They showed up on time and left at the end of the work day. They were great.

This is a tough one to write, because I liked everyone at the company very much. They're good people. In the end, however, there were just too many problems to ignore, and the overall attention to detail just wasn't there. First, punctuality. The day the job was to start, we received a call asking if we would mind putting it off for a few days. Ummm, OK. We work at home and can be flexible about time, but it seemed odd to have our very first experience be one of scheduling problems. As the work progressed, punctuality remained an issue. Sometimes the crew would be early; sometimes late; sometimes we would have to call to make sure someone was coming at all. It wasn't awful, but it also wasn't terribly professional. They were very helpful with the bedroom painting, up to a point. We had chosen a ceiling color which, when applied, turned out to be too dark. They were great about helping us find the right color and, for an additional $100, were willing to re-paint the ceiling the new color. It looks great and they made the effort to ensure the right color was used. The quality of the painting was also very high...up to a point. When we bought the house, we discovered that the detailed mouldings on the ceiling were actually plastic, which meant that painting them could best be achieved using spray paint. We agreed to have this done, assuming they would be painted the same color as the rest of the window and door trim. The spray painting was completed in a few hours one morning, which is when we discovered that the paint color was an off-white, rather than the pure white we expected. We expressed our concern and were told that off-white was the best color available -- that nothing more white was available in spray form. First, I have trouble believing this is true and, secondly, I would like to have been told this before the work was begun. When we expressed our dismay, we were told an effort would be made to research other options, but nothing was ever done. Obviously, we should have managed the work more closely, but I had not expected such close supervision to be needed. And I certainly would have expected more concern for our overall satisfaction. Every day I wake up and see paint that doesn't match, and it's a daily reminder of how much details matter. With the bookcases, the same story holds -- mostly great work with a few key lapses. The bookcases were removed from the house for the painting and we were told it would take about a week. In the end, two weeks later we had to call and chase down when they would be done. The bookcases appeared two days later, but without the lower doors, which, we were told, were not yet dry. It was clear that the painting had not been done until we called, even though it was supposed to have been done a week earlier. The installation was great, and they are rock-solid. A closer inspection of the paint, job, however, made clear that 1) the backs had not been painted, 2) only one coat had been applied and 3) there were numerous streaks where bare wood was still showing. Since they were going against a wall we did not require the backs to be painted (we just wanted them finished by this point), but we did ask for the streaks to be fixed. Would this have been done without our asking? Possibly, but our experience to that point was that we needed to speak up to ensure work was completed. When we did ask, they cheerfully corrected the problem. They also did come back with the doors and installed them, but again, when we looked at them we realized the doors had been improperly hung -- the pairs didn't match, meaning right-hand doors were lower than left-hand doors. Rather than deal with the company again, we just fixed them ourselves. Was it worth the money? No. Would I hire them again? No. While most of their work was terrific, we simply could not count on their getting the whole job done right the first time, or their taking the initiative to ensure our satisfaction. It is the final attention to detail that marks a true professional and these folks, nice and cheerful as they are, didn't provide it. If you decide to hire them, be very clear about what you want, check the work frequently and call out any issues as soon as you identify them. I think they are capable of great work, but in our case, they didn't live up to their potential.

This is the second job that I have hired this company to do. The first was this time, I am ill with cancer and Dawson has gone "above and beyond" making this as easy as possible for me, and keeping the costs down as low as possible. I cannot say enough about her professionalism, promptness, thoroughness and fair prices. I recommend them highly for all of those little and large jobs around the house that are in needs of a professional to handle.
