We had no experience in purchasing hardwood floors. Pablo met us at our condo and took his time explaining our options and the installation process. Understanding that we were working within a limited budget, he agreed to help us find a hardwood product that would meet our requirements. He even offered to accompany us on a shopping trip to the local big-box hardware store or lumber liquidator. The following day he emailed information on a quality flooring product he had located in Florida that included free shipping. His crew was not only professional, they were a joy to have around the house. They were very attentive to the concerns of our HOA. Pablo even loaned us a table and chairs after realizing that we were holding off purchasing new furnishings until the floors were installed, and presented us with a new hardwood floor cleaner when finished. A fair price, professional installation, and a beautiful condo as the result. What more could we ask for?
Description of Work: Marin Hardwood Floor Center removed the old carpet from our newly purchased Castro condo. Finding the underfloor extremely uneven, the entire flooring had to be leveled. Pablo assisted us in finding a hardwood flooring product that fit our budget. He installed the new flooring and new baseboards. He routed CATV cable under the flooring to two locations.

I hired Pablo of Marin Hardwood Floors to act as a contractor to oversee a remodel of a guest house on my property. While his specialty is new floor installation, he held himself out as a person capable of taking on this remodel. Work progressed slowly and to my consternation on a number of occasions, Pablo wasn't even there and left crew of questionable ability working on their own. During one point he even went on vacation! Finally, when it became apparent that much of the work was not being done properly, I asked him to go, having paid him thus far over $25,000. The next contractor I brought in showed me where things were not done to code and were otherwise improperly completed. This necessitated paying the new contractor yet more money to re-do work I had already paid Pablo to have done. I contacted Pablo and communicated to him that I felt a partial refund was in order. After some negotiation we agreed to an amount, that was actually very generous in that it was much less than what it actually cost me to fix his work. Pablo made a couple of payments and then nothing for an entire year, despite repeated requests. Finally, I advised him that I was going to start charging him interest on the unpaid balance. I think we got another payment after that and then silence. After another year of monthly invoices and interest charges I contacted him yet again, offering to forgive the interest charges if he would just pay the remaining balance owed, which he had agreed to! The Certified Letter I sent to him was actually returned unclaimed. I give up. I would not recommend working with this company an ANY project.
