+ -1 moreI called Gil on saturday morning at 9 when I noticed the fridge was warm. He diagnosed it over the phone! and said that he would come by around noon. He then called to say he would be able to come at 11. He came in and cleaned and fixed it in about 45 minutes.
Description of Work: Gil from Bill's of Tiburon cleaned my ~25 year old sub-zero and replaced a fan that had failed (and was causing my fridge to be warm). He was quickly available, on time and overall I had a great experience!

+ -1 moreThis is an undercounter ULine refrigerator, about 10 years old, that suddenly failed. Bill was my third call as two other providers would not work on ULine for some reason. No problem for Bill who came out same day as my call, showed up on time, and diagnosed a failed thermostat control. The repair was relatively quick but extensive in that it involved removing the back panel, the cold plate inside the cabinet and the the thermo control at the front, with a new control switch and line installed front to back.. Bill was punctual and amiable. The repair restored function & at $194, parts & labor, was a bargain compared to the $1500-1700 full replacement cost of the unit. Hel specializes in refrigeration and you'd have to ask him about other appliances-- but I would definitely recommend him.

Description of Work: Gil (bought from Bill many years ago) specializes in refrigerators. He's fixed our sub zero a few times over the last decade. This visit specifically he fixed the ice maker which had stopped working and was making a regular thump every few hours. (The ice maker was clogged.) He also vacummed out the compressor and wiped down a lot of the interior seams. He's prompt, personable and an expert. He's also thoughtful in sharing tips on maintenance tasks we could do to lengthen the life of our refrigerator. I highly recommend Gil.

+ -1 moreGil, the owner, set an appointment right away. He called to verify he was on the way. He diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator immediately, and fixed it. He had brought a part (having ascertained in advance what the problem might be based on my description over the phone) -- it turned out we didn't need the part, but if we had, he would not have had to order it, make a return visit, etc. He was professional and very personable.
Description of Work: Our refrigerator was making a very loud noise. Gil, the owner of Bill's of Tiburon, found that ice had formed on the motor and fan. Another couple days and our fridge probably would have stopped working because the ice was pretty thick, almost covering the fan. He removed the ice (using a device that looked like a hair dryer) and showed me how to make sure it didn't happen again, and how to deal with it in case it did happen again.
