They did an absolute fantastic job.

Water was leaking in the ceiling near the chimney area from late storms last spring. I called my roofer out--I thought there may be a problem with the roof even though I had it replaced a couple of years earlier. My roofer went on the roof and said the roof looks fine, but one of my chimneys, which is in the area of the leak, has a cracked mortar cap and the grout between the bricks looks bad. He said I should call a chimney specialist out to take a look. I called Mister Chimney because they had a 5 star rating. They were busy and could not come out for several weeks, but it was ok because we were now into warm weather. Martin came out, looked around, and I told him what my roofer said. Mister Chimney called me back a few days later with an estimate to fix the concrete cap and suggested that I also install two chimney caps/spark arrestors--one for each chimney. I agreed to have the work done,which was scheduled a few weeks later. Mister Chimney came out, did the work, and I thought everything was ok. Then the storms came in December, and my ceiling was leaking again. I called my roofer as I thought my chimney had been fixed. My roofer came out right away and suggested that we wrap the chimney in plastic to the flashing, and if the leak stops, then we know it's the chimney. He had inspected the roof again, and thought everything with the roof was perfect. There was a brief break in the storm, the chimney was wrapped in plastic, it started to rain again shortly thereafter, and there were no more leaks. Thus, the chimney is still leaking. I called Mister Chimney and informed them of the situation. They were busy, as this was during the holidays, and I said it's ok as the chimney has been wrapped and no more damage is being done. On January 10, a couple of workers from Mr. Chimney came out to take a look. I met with one of them, and we spoke. He told me he knew the chimney was bad when they fixed the concrete crown and installed the additional spark arrestor. He said the chimney needs to be rebuilt at an approximate cost of $7,000. I asked, why didn't anyone tell me earlier, before I spent the money to repair the the concrete crown, etc. I now wasted money doing a repair on a chimney that ultimately needs to be rebuilt. I was upset that it was known the repair wouldn't work, and not only did I waste the money on the repair, I now incurred more damage to my ceiling. I asked the worker to please have Martin contact me with a written estimate for rebuilding the chimney, and I also said I should be given credit for the $425 that was wasted repairing the concrete cap--I'm assuming the $300 spark arrestor can be reused. I called about a week later and left a message as I hadn't heard anything. So far no one has called me back. I'm not sure if this is too big a job for Mister Chimney--if so, they should let me know. Regardless, the repair didn't work, was a waste of money, and the company is terrible at following up.

Very professional and thorough job. Actually we hired them to inspect and clean two chimneys after we bought a new house. They told us that one of the chimneys was brand new and didn't need cleaning and didn't charge us for that service. Honesty goes a long way in my book.

I was a little unhappy that the technician did not protect my wood floors very well. He put a drop cloth down, however it was not spread out enough to catch all the soot. I had to clean after he left.

Overall very poor customer service and follow through by Mister Chimney. Multiple phone calls were not returned by Linda, the crew did not make their appointments not once but twice, and they even showed up without having a ladder to reach the chimney. They also ordered the wrong part and failed to tell me that my appointment was therefore cancelled (meanwhile my wife waited at home for them to show up). Lastly, after they finished the job and I payed, they returned to say they had installed the wrong type of chimney cap and needed to get back on the room to put the correct cap on. Jeez! Poorly organized outfit and miserable customer service.

He was on-time, courteous and efficient. All went well and it a service to keep.

I didn?t like it. He was selling more services, and pushed on the chimney but I couldn?t see what was wrong and if it had been there before. I was underwhelmed.

Martin and Mister Chimney did a great job for us and were a pleasure to work with. We recently purchased a 1915 Edwardian home that has the original fireplace. However, at some point in time one of the previous owners decided to seal the chimney with brick, so it was no longer functional. We wanted to restore it to working order, so we contacted Mister Chimney. The communication with them was great. Linda who manages the office was always on top of things, and Martin himself was always available to answer questions or discuss the problem. They were very flexible and responsive in working with us, and were able to schedule both the initial consultation and the project itself very quickly, which was fantastic. They opened up the chimney for us, cleaned it out (lots of old soot in there from God knows what decade!), gave us a new steel chimney liner, a new damper, and re-lined the smoke chamber, all for a very reasonable price. We now have a working fireplace, and we're delighted! If you're looking for someone to work on your fireplace or chimney, we highly recommend this company!

He came in to see the chimney on the inside and then he went outside with his ladder and went on the roof to check to see if there was a damper . My chimney does not have one as it hasn't been used in over 50 years. He gave me a price to have one installed on the chimney itself not inside which is very costly. I'm still debating if I want to install the damper as the restrictions on no fires have increased over the years. I'm thinking that when I sell the new owners it they want to use the fireplace they can install one themselves but will disclose if and when I decide to sell.

Very happy with Mister Chimney. Great - honest work. They were very careful with a potentially very messy job. Would most definitely recommend them and will for sure hire them again.

Biggest waste of money ever.

Barely a 20 minute job. In a hurry to get out. Not sure he really cleaned the chimney properly.

They assessed the wood burning stove and stove pipe and then went to see the chimney outside. They were quick, neat, and reassuring. Making contact by phone and arranging the schedule was not so easy. Lots of missed calls and confusion.

Was here on time on the day requested. Was in and out within an hour and half.

They were great. This was an Angie's list deal. Showed up early and called ahead. They cleaned and inspected my chimney, gave me a full report, and didn't try to sell my any unnecessary services. They left my living room clean. Will definitely use them again when I need my chimney cleaned again.

Martin arrived early and called to let me know. He was nice and told me not to spend extra money because the fireplace is in excellent shape. I appreciate their honest feedback.

I called and set up an appointment with Mister Chimney. We had never used a chimney cleaning service before, since the fireplace was rarely used. Martin came out and made a helpful suggestion before starting any work. He said that our chimney was very clean and showed me the chimney area with his lamp light. He offered me the choice to save some money and not clean the chimney, since it looked good or give me a discount. I decided to go ahead with the work, because I really appreciated his honesty. He did a super complete cleaning and at the end only charged me $100. Martin was a true professional! Thanks again!!

Went well. Came on time, was friendly. Great cleaning job.

He called and asked if it was ok to come an hour early which was fine with me. He actually showed up 10 min early. He went straight to work and didn't leave a mess. He explained what he did and that everything checks out fine. He gave me a few tips on using the fireplace and when I should schedule another cleaning depending on how much I use the fireplace. He was very nice and professional. I would use them again in the future.

Martin was very helpful in not only cleaning my fireplaces but providing contacts for some vendors who could fix one of my fireplaces that has a broken glass door. Outstanding work and excellent customer service.

I didn't need any additional work, just a straightforward sweep of an older, wood burning fireplace chimney with an insert. The 2 men who came were prompt, courteous, and answered all my questions. They took the time to clean the interior, doors and exterior area around the fireplace. Had I needed work done I would have considered hiring them..

Our service providers called us the morning of our appointment to ask us if we minded if they were a little late, but it worked out great for us as we were out having waffles, so didn't have to rush through our breakfast. When we arrived the van was parked in front of our home, with the supplies unloaded and ready to go. The two gentlemen came in and got right to work, one inside the home, and the other up on the roof. They took the time to spread out extra blankets so as not to stain the white carpets we inherited from the previous owner! They were very friendly and took the time to explain things as they went along and answer all the questions my husband was asking. When they were finished, we all drove down and met at our rental property, and they got to work there too. The chimney had been cleaned a couple years ago, and hadn't been used since, but they got more soot and debris out, and pulled out the rusted damper as well (which I was sorry about as it can't be repaired until they order a new part. Our renter is kind of miffed that they have to cover the fireplace to stop heat loss until the repair is complete, but are excited about having a functional fireplace.) The scheduler called us the same day with an appointment to complete the repairs next week. All in all I was happy with the service and both workers were very friendly and professional. We used 3 Angie's list coupons for $99 clean and inspect, and paid by check for the new chimney caps. We will spend a little more for the cap/damper combo that will be installed next week, I believe it will be around $4-450 with some inside the chimney repair to do also. Looking forward to a cozy fireplace night soon!
