We found them on Angies List. Appointment was scheduled for 9am and service man came at 8:45am - he was early. He walked me thru the types of things they look for during inspections - it was informative. The entire inspection took about 20-30 minutes. Our walls were opened up and the chimneys were in good shape. They originally quoted us $120 for a two unit building, but only charged us $60. I was very happy with their service.

Appointment Scheduling: Scheduling an appointment was easy. We were able to reach someone on the first call, and received an accurate estimate over the phone. Even though they were booked, they were flexible enough to schedule an appointment less than a week out. Service Day: The guys that showed up to do the work, were very friendly, and conducted themselves in a professional manner. They made sure to protect the carpeting and the furniture around the work area, and protected the flooring wherever they were walking. After the inspection+cleaning was complete, they were patient and explained the results of the report thoroughly, and even took us outside to point out some characteristics of our neighbors' chimneys. They even informed us that based on the state of the chimney, and the infrequency of our use, we shouldn't need to call anyone for another two years. That secured my trust. Even though they were a bit pricier than some of the other quotes I received, they were worth it.

I found this company through Groupon, where I bought a Chimney Cleaning Service for $89. But they are members of Angie's List too. The tech was professional, polite, and thorough. They came out quickly. The tech arrived on time and worked quickly. He covered the entire area around my fireplace and left no trace of having been here, other than the cleanest fireplace we've had! I will use them again next year!

He inspected our chimney and informed us that cracks were small enough they were nothing to worry about and we needed a spark arrester. He was very quick, thorough and clean for what could have otherwise been a messy job.

Martin was great. On time, courteous and excellent work. Price was totally reasonable. I already referred them to my friends. I will definitely call them again.

The Mister Chimney guys were terrific. I had originally asked for an estimate just for repairing or replacing the damper; I'd been told by another company that my fireplace wasn't safe or usable and would take many thousands of dollars to repair, so I just wanted to block the drafts and noise coming through the rusted damper. The Mister Chimney guys told me that it would only take a new refractory piece and chimney cap, and, with a new damper, it would be completely safe and usable. A couple of days after they gave me the estimate, they called me back to tell me that they had a damper in stock that would work in my fireplace, and also let me know about their financing options. I was able to schedule the work within the week; the guys were very prompt, did a terrific job, and cleaned everything up beautifully. I'd told them on the phone that I'd just had the hearth painted (it was dry, but could scratch easily), and they brought extra blankets to cover it so that the paint wasn't touched. I highly recommend Mister Chimney, and would definitely use them again.

I used the website to set up an appointment and had a very quick response via e-mail. I booked via email but also received a confirmation phone call. I was able to book the exact time and date I needed. The technician, Martin Nava arrived early and as noted above did a wonderfully efficient job of cleaning my metal insert fire place.

I called and was offered an appointment the next day but decided to schedule it for a day I was off of work. Martin (the tech) arrived early. He was waiting as I drove up. He protected the area surround the wood stove with blankets. I left and came back 1/2 hour later and he was nearly done. He had gone up on the roof and pointed out that my cap on the chimney pipe had rusted through (I live on the coast... no surprise!!) and told me he would get back to me on the price of replacing it with a stainless steel cap. He said the pipe was the worst he's seen. It's a rental so I'm not sure how often it's used. He throughly cleaned everything and even cleaned the tiles around the wood stove. EXCELLENT job!

They didn't show up for their first appointment. The second time, they arrived on time. I don't know how to judge a chimney cleaning other than that they left the place clean afterwards. I had asked them to inspect the two chimneys. They said that one was safe to use (though they marked it as unsafe on their report). They said the other was unsafe and shouldn't be used due to deteriorated masonry. They said that they could easily repair the first one (re-mortar the firebox) and replace the chimney cap and damper. They said that they needed to put in a chimney liner for the second one because the masonry was old and failed up the chimney...at a cost of many thousands of dollars. To do this, they would insert a metal chimney liner from the top down to the damper. They provided their estimates over the phone and didn't send me a written estimate. (That is the only time any contractor has ever done that.) I walked up to look at the chimney in the attic (where it is easily visible) and noticed that the chimney is already metal with no signs of leakage. I emailed the company to ask them to re-evaluate their analysis of the work, explaining that the chimney was metal and I would be happy to show it to them, but I never heard back from them. I asked another company to inspect the chimney (another Angie's List A List provider) and they told me that I only needed to repair the fireboxes. They said that the second chimney needed some work just above the existing damper for the transition from masonry to metal, saving many thousands of dollars. The first chimney needed a new handle for the damper control rather than a complete replacement at a very minor cost. I would have been happy for Mister Chimney to come back, re-evaluate their analysis of what needed to be done, or even explain why they thought a complete reline was necessary despite the metal chimney (which they never saw).

Martin showed on time and he is very friendly. He spent a lot of time explaining what he was going to do and what materials he was going to use. His price is reasonable too. Overall it is a good experience and I strongly recommend him to anyone who is seeking a contractor to repair chimney.

Two guys arrived on time, actually a little bit early. They were very approachable, professional, and efficient with the whole process taking a little more than a half hour. One guy focused on the fireplace, he tarped off the area, scrubbed, and vacuumed. They other guy invited me on the roof while he explained and showed me how he inspected the whole chimney aparatus. He took off the chimney cap, looked down with a flashlight looking for cracks and other wear and tear. He used a chimney sweep while communicating with the guy downstairs, "close the flue" and "open the flu." In addition, he told me to keep an eye out for water leaks because the chimney did not have proper flashing where the stucco chimney meets the roof tiles, proper flashing is now required, but I said I was already aware of it and plan to add the flashing when the roof needs replacement. That was good advice, so in the meantime I went to the local Ace and purchased a disposable plastic putty knife and a quart of "Henry 208 Wet Patch Roof Cement" just in case. He also recommended a new 9" round chimney cap because there was only a 2" instead of an 8" opening so it does not allow the smoke to easily exit. This explained why the smoke from my duraflame log slowly comes out of the chimney. We scanned neighboring chimney's for an example of a proper chimney cap, which I was appreciative. He offered to replace the cap for $170 including installation, there was no sales pressure. He looked at my roof and said it's in good shape and has at least ten years left on it.

We bought a new home and needed to have the chimney inspected and cleaned. After doing some research, we chose Mister Chimney, because they had good reviews and a good price. Jonathon and Hector were very nice and did a very good job. We intend to hire them again in the future.

First, Martin and Edwin spread out a large blanket to cover my white area rug. They swept the chimney from the top to the bottom, assessed the condition of the chimney and the wood stove, including my chimney cap, and provided a written report. They were very fast (I think it took about 30 minutes at the most) and very clean. Tonight I will enjoy my fire, knowing that everything is clean and safe.

Called to have chimney checked in the morning and arranged for an appointment the following day as it was first available. We got a call back about an hour later, that we could squeeze in an appointment midday, which was fabulous and much appreciated that they remembered we were hoping to clean it asap, so we could use it for Christmas eve and sooner. Martin was right on time and did an excellent job of inspecting and cleaning our chimney. He was thorough, informative and left the area spotless after the job. We will definitely call Mr Chimney again, and request Martin. Very professional.

We researched on Angie's List and decided to go with Mister Chimney. The team was on time and proceeded to promptly prep for the cleaning. They laid down blankets to protect the surrounding stonework and then moved in their equipment. One worker started cleaning from the bottom and Martin, the lead, went on our roof to perform the inspection, and I assume cleaning. I watched the person clean and scrub the entire fireplace interior with a brush and vacuum. The whole process took about 30 minutes and they thoroughly cleaned up the area before leaving. I received the invoice for $120. I then mentioned that Angie's List members were suppose to receive 10% off and this was also confirmed by the office worker who booked the appointment. Martin mentioned something about rates actually being higher but then agreed and changed the price to $108. At the end I received a written report and we discussed the results. I painted (Stove Bright high temp paint) the interior without any problems and we've used the fireplace twice since. We would have used it more but there's been many "spare the air" days recently.

The repairman, Martin, showed up at the scheduled time. He was courteous and skilled while he worked. He finished promptly and we are very happy with the work.

We had recently moved into the house and the inspector stated that he always recommended for people to get their chimney inspected before use. I called Mr Chimney on a Monday and was able to get the only opening on the upcoming Thursday (this was my preferred date; i didn't ask for the first available) Mr Chimney sent Richard and Martin (Marteen?). They were on time (actually a little early), and went to work. They laid down mats and brought in a vacuum cleaner to keep the area tidy. They called me over and walked me through the process, the type of fireplace we had, and the internals. The cleaning went very quickly and i'm ready for the first fire at my new house. I generally have apprehension about these type of services (nervous about upsells, people being on time, taking too long, etc). Richard and Martin were easy going and fantastic; i wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. NOTE: I apparently have a pre-fab fireplace, about 25 years old, which either wasn't used much and / or only used duraflame style logs. While I have confidence they can deal with a more difficult fireplace, mine was pretty simple and pretty clean. I have no problem with the price I paid.

I found this service on your listings. I read to reviews and called. The office person was polite and professional. We were able to set up a work date right away. Two men arrived on time and did the work fast and were very neat. After cleaning up Martin gave me a report on what other work needed to be done. That was on 11/16/11. When I decided to do the additonal work I called the office again. The offer person and the service people got me a date right away. Again they arrived ready to work. Martin and Richard were excellent. They replaced the back of the fireplace, and replaced the chimney. They showed me what they were doing every step of the way. Martin was very helpful. Both men were excellent workers and because of the treatment and the service I recived from them and this company I will use them again and recommend them to others. As is our usual fashion, we procrastinated getting our chimney swept until the day before our out of town guests came for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lucky for us, Mister Chimney Cleaning and Builders was able to come out the same day we called! After giving us an estimate over the phone, a team of 2 showed up later that afternoon (early!) and were professional, thorough and EFFICIENT. While one person was setting up and transporting equipment, the other was explaining the process to me and doing the actual cleaning. I learned quite a bit about my chimney that day, including the fact that I don't need to keep buying those creosote logs since my chimney isn't brick (!). The team was clean and courteous as well, putting pads down over my floor and furniture for extra precaution. The whole operation took 20 minutes - super speedy, especially during the holiday rush! The only thing that was less than stellar was the price (or rather, their lack of explanation of it) - their range was from about $80 to $120, and though they estimated us $120 on the phone, they said they'd confirm the estimate when they came out. What I didn't receive from the service person was an explanation of why the cost was $120 and what factors made it that high as opposed to a lower price. Overall, we are very pleased with the actual work done and the quality and professionalism of the team that performed the services. We'll definitely consider using them again (and make sure to ask for an explanation of the cost breakdown next time).

After calling and leaving a message, I received an immediate call back from the office to schedule my appointment. The person who called was polite and professional. The day of service Martin called to inform us he was running a couple of minutes behind which we truly appreciated. It was great sign that we had hired someone who is courteous and respectful of other people's time. When he arrived (sooner than he anticipated), he couldn't have been any nicer. He had already worked a very long day and still had a big smile on his face when he came to our door. Both Martin and his co-worker Edwin were professional, thorough, detail oriented and meticulous about the job they were performing. Martin took extra time to explain the various mechanics of each of the fireplaces. He was informative, polite and a great communicator. I won't hesitate to call them again. Their information is going into my permanent Contacts List!

Martin and his crew were amazing! Hector and Edwin were consistently on time, professional, and clean. They actually left my house cleaner than before by dusting and sweeping the room in which they worked. All work was done well and inspected regularly. Communication and attention to detail were superb. We had to keep pinching ourselves... could this really be happening! How unusual to have such an attentive contractor at work for us! Martin even came out one evening around 7 to inspect and explain the next steps. We are thoroughly impressed and will definitely use them again!

When I called to book the appointment they were extremely professional and accommodating to my schedule. The technician arrived on time, was extremely neat and professional. He told me what he was doing, why and what he found. I was amazed at how clean everything was when he was finished, there was not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere. I have my fireplaces cleaned and inspected every year and I will have mr chimney perform this service again.
