Duckett's Tree Service

We recently moved in to a house with a lot of trees and shrubs. I needed them trimmed and old stumps removed. I got estimates from 3 vendors, and while they were all good, Juan from Duckett's was who we chose. Their price was very fair and I got a lot more work done for the money than I would have with the others I interviewed. Juan is very nice, professional and accomodating. He and his workers were very efficient, clean and hard working. They do tree trimming at the Rancho Los Cerritos (In Bixby Hill) and my neighbors highly recommended them. They didn't have many reviews on Angies List, but because they had done work in my community and were recommended, I took a chance on them. I was really glad I did! Great investment to get my yard done! I would use them again for sure!

Bill was not only friendly, professional and punctual, but extremely knowledgeable and experienced as well. His team worked like a well-oiled machine. They've worked together for years which I consider to be a very good indicator of how he treats them; and they were also very friendly and experienced. They cleaned everything up completely before they left. Had we not been home throughout the day, we would never have known that there were massive piles of tree branches everywhere throughout the day. We would highly recommend Bill Duckett and his tree service to absolutely anyone and everyone who needs any tree services performed.

The root system of the large ficus in our back yard had begun to push up the back wall, and the bricks were starting to separate. Duckett's Tree Service had been recommended to us by both our landscaper and the large local garden center. Duckett's Tree Service has done major tree trimming for us in the past, and we were always very happy with their work, price, and clean-up. This job was no exception. They cut down the tree and dug out the stump and root system. It was a big job, yet only one plant (a Liliy-of-the-Nile) under the ficus was lost. Clean-up was excellent, and the soil is now loose and ready for new planting. I also like how a foreman, Bill Pendleton, oversees all work, and he really "knows his stuff."

They did a good job. They weren't able to completely do the job, so they reduced the overall bill. He was a very friendly guy who came out to survey the job. They explained everything very well and were professional.

I obtained 3 estimates for major tree trimming; Bill Duckett's Tree Service was the least by about $200. I knew they did a good job, as we had used them several years ago. They were also recommended by our local Armstrong's Garden Center. Bill Pendleton, who oversees the work, came out to survey the job and gave me an itemized fee for each tree and bush. The job was scheduled for about 2 weeks hence, as they were very busy with the rainy season approaching. The workers arrived right on time. Bill Pendleton also came and stayed to supervise throughout most of the work. Bill is very personable, very knowledgeable, and fully answered any questions I had. It took 2 days to complete everything, as there was so much involved, especially with our huge jacaranda. When the job was completed, Bill had me walk around to OK everything. I requested some more trimming or removal (bird of paradise stalks) on a few things. It was done. The work was completed beautifully, for exactly what was originally written up. No surprises, problems, or additional charges. Clean-up looked great. I feel I got even more than I paid for. This tree service has a LOT (YEARS) of experience in the Long Beach, CA area, and I was surprised to find they are not yet on Angie's List. I am glad to add them, as they do great work for a more-than-fair price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
