Did a very professional job and did not just butcher our tree. Also was able to diagnose tree termites and provide treatment at a reasonable cost. Was concerned about the health of my trees, not just making a buck. Did an excellent job and cleaned up everything afterward.
Description of Work: We had a very large Elm pruned, our lemon and pine tree removed. We also had a treatment to take care of tree termites.

On calling, I was directed by machine to Sales, where I was prompted to leave a voice mail, but the voice mail system then told me that it was full and could accept no new messages. It is currently 2:36pm on Friday. They are open till 5pm. They loose points in my book for directing me to a mailbox that is full. How can they provide reliable service if I cannot get in touch with them. I will try them again on a future job and update my review at that time.
Description of Work: Tree branch fell on rental property. I needed the tree cleaned up and the branch removed.

I will use them next year when the fruit comes off. The only problem I had was that the workers he left here didn't understand my English. I asked them not to cut something, and they cut it. Fruit trees are not suppose to have their trunks showing, because you can kill the trees. We got it cleared up before they got to the next tree.

Pricing, scheduling and service provided were all excellent. The only very minor issue was they showed up to preform the service about 3 hours after the scheduled time. This did not cause any inconvenience for me though. Once they arrived, they did an excellent job and were done quicker than expected.

It went pretty well. Pros: They did a very nice job on the trees and bushes. Cons: I informed them of my available timeframe and they appeared to be mostly done but then broke for lunch. I had to scramble to leave while they were still on the premises. There were a lot of scraps on the ground and gate and there is still a large stain on the driveway/sidewalk where the tree debris was being placed to be loaded on the truck.
Description of Work: We had five trees and three large bushes trimmed.

The tree was removed quickly and safely. The only problem was that some 6" centimeter holes were left in the yard from the equipment used. Crew was friendly and professional.

The crew was friendly, professional and very good at their job. They took the tree down quickly and safely and cleaned up the yard and sidewalk when they were through. The machine they used to pick up the logs left two 6-inch diameter holes in the lawn but, they aren't very deep and will probably be easy to fill in.

I am not one to usually write a review but I was very impressed with Venable's service. I have a large tree in my front yard. A major branch had broken and was down in the front yard and the tree was way overdue for a trim. I called in the morning for an estimate and they got back to me quickly with a fair price. They arrived on time the next day, and what I thought would take half the day they had done in an hour and a half. I was very satisfied with the work and clean up. I would highly recommend Venable's Tree Service.

It didn't. They never returned my calls or text for the rescheduling of the tree transplant from the old house rental to the new house rental.
Description of Work: The original job was to transfer a young tree from a former rented home to a new rented home. My mom felt the price was too high and asked if we could have it transferred in a pot instead. They said yes and quoted a lesser price. I even texted my contact asking if we could buy the pot ourselves from home depot so we can pick a really nice one (tree had sentimental value). I did not get a reply and just thought they got too busy. They showed up on day of appointment but brought NO pot to transfer the tree on. Again, gave them benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they just misunderstood so we agreed to reschedule. I called and text maybe 4 times total and absolutely no reply. It was very dissappointing to not only be able to deliver the service hired for the first time and then finish it off even more unprofessionally by not returning any of my calls or texts.

Prompt bid, prompt date set for job, good cleanup and came back to remove three metal bars that been placed deep in the ground (long ago) for cable supports for the deodar. That became a pesky task, but Tim handled it with graciousness. Tim was also prompt in responding to calls or txt msgs. The price was a little steep, but it was worth it to have a recommended company with a license and insurance- which they promptly showed me. The crew worked so quickly I missed seeing the tree's fall, but a neighbor told me how carefully the "well-trained" crew stopped traffic on the street and how accurately the cutting team dropped the tree right where planned on the shoulder without harming a nearby equally huge tree. Yes, I plan to use them again. So will my neighbor.

Dishonest from the beginning, from quote to end and only did HALF the job...then tried to convince me that doing the full job he quoted would kill the tree!!! Saying that palms are never and should never ever be skinned!! Will never use them again....

Tim, my sales contact was very responsive and made sure my instructions were followed. They did a good job! The trees look good (although a couple may have been pruned a bit severely) and they cleaned up the yard well without any damage. Only negative was some foliage that got into the pool.
Description of Work: Contractor pruned 12 trees including 2 each large ornamental pears, 2 each star magnolias, 1 each large redwood, 1 each large grapefruit, 1 each medium olive, 3 each queen palms, 1 each small nectarine and 1 medium crepe myrtle.

Tom came and provided me with an estimate the same day I called. He was courteous and professional. His crew of 5 guys came the following day and promptly removed the tree that was knocked down and axed off the stump. They also blew away all the debris and the tons of dust away from my patio the storm left off. They are the best tree service in town, worth every penny!

They were timely showing up for the appointment. They came in like a whirlwind with lots of workers who were all extremely friendly. It was a really big job, they were so fast I couldn't believe how quickly it went. They did a great job cleaning up as well. I have no complaints, only great things to say. I have already recommended them multiple times.

Spoke with Tom on Sat. July 19. He was able to give me an estimate that day, and did the work on Monday afternoon, after waiting on another company to call me back with an estimate that never called. Tom was professional, and prompt. I'm making him one of my favorites! This is how you do business !

Work was extensive and thorough (except for the last problem below), and the price was roughly half of what a competitor was estimating. However, there were a couple of issues with arriving on expected dates/times, as well as the lack of professionalism of a helper (although he was replaced as requested). The manager also offered to help finish cutting down and removing a large palm tree stump (apparently not seen in the original estimate), but never followed through on it, even after several calls. This made it necessary to pay another person to do so.

The crew arrived right on time and went straight to work. We had a huge tree cut down, 4 others trimmed back, and a smaller tree removed. The company gave us an estimate of 4 hours of work. They were done in 2 and a half! The work they did would have taken us days, if not weeks to complete ourselves (minus the tree removal). The price was very fair for the work they accomplished. I would definitely recommend!
