+ -1 moreWhen he gave the bid for the complete job, I indicated I wanted to get a 2nd bid (p***** him off), then when the other bid didn't show up, i went ahead and contracted Mr. Flores to complete the job as the new owners needed to move in by end of month. I wasn't really pleased with the quality of the sample and when I hadn't cleared out the room completely (he never indicated that I needed to; he was using scaffolding) he lost his temper with me and just stomped out. He showed a lack of professionalism, inability to discuss my concerns, and the apparent shortcomings in his work. He raved that he was only going to make a $700. profit on this job anyway (one days work!) and that he had NEVER had anyone request a second bid! For future clients: watch out for ego and temper. This might not be the best plaster contractor for you!
Description of Work: I paid for a sample only to determine whether the ceiling plaster patch up job would even work. An older flat top roofed house built in 1953 with acoustical ceiling tiles not backed with drywall, but with a pressboard composite. Mr. Flores suggested a less expensive alternate to removing the entire ceiling to the exposed roof structure and drywalling it would be to secure all the tiles and apply a "scratch coat" then another layer of thin plaster. It didn't cover very well, still showed some of the seams of the tiles and was not a very smooth finish (many voids). I tried to point out some defects.
